Just got the word, my friend has a condo at Daytona Beach and I will leave out this Friday or Saturday for Daytona and plan to stay the whole week. There will be six of us going and I am the only one riding down on my bike (of course I am the oldest); I haven't riden 575 miles at one time before but I think I can make it okay. The reason for the posting is that I hope to meet some of my VentureRider buddies so if you have some time to goof off, give me a call and maybe we can hook up. My cell no. is (919) 801-0751. I'm looking forward to this trip; I've spent time working on my bike, new rear tire, switching around the brake pads, changing oil, etc. and I'm ready. Sunny Florida - I'm coming.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner; I just signed on and started reading. As you can see, you get responses from all over and all the help you need. I got my bracket from Carbon One and the harness from the manufacturer. I can see why so many riders use this type of horn, it will wake you up.

See what I mean............I have all the info I need to do the job and made a friend out of it as well. Thanks everyone. This site is great.

Just ordered another Dunlop whitewall for the rear and I'm going to be brave enough to change it out myself (with the help of you guys). I have looked in the Tech talk but maybe there is something somewhere that gives me more info. I notice you also say to grease the splines, etc so I'm adding that to the list. Looking for feedback..........thanks fellows.

I installed by Stebel air horn today and tried it out in the garage. I'm 63 and don't need to be losing anything but boy did that horn nearly blowed out my windows and my ears. With snow on the ground I can't get out but can't wait to use it. I've been reading threads how the horn has saved venture riders and now I see why. Good money spent. Just so you know, this site has been great for someone like me; I pick up so many ideas and safety tips from all you crazies. Thanks.

It's beautiful since we don't get much snow around the Raleigh, NC area but it sure cuts into riding. It's been cold around here but I've been on a number of Patriot Guary missions; you can't go in this stuff. I guess you guys up north laugh at us down here but what can I say. Spring is just around the corner. Hope everyone is safe and warm; I don't send many threads but I don't have a lot to do right now. I did get my stebel air horn in but am waiting on the bracket to install. Can't wait to blow out the windows in the garage.

I'm the typical old man that has to call his son everytime I need something on this computer done. Well, this time I'm asking you guys. I have a son just beginning his 22nd year in the Corp. and he is in ordinance. I've got to send this to him via e-mail but don't know how. Yes, I'm asking someone to give me some instructions. Thanks.

My wife & I send our thoughts & prayers to Annie; we want to keep updated for the speedy recovery.

Enjoyed the video. Proud of you for honoring our soldiers.

Your're exactly right; I'm sorta retired and enjoy riding and Randleman is not that far away. Look forward to meeting you guys. And yes, my wife and I intend to make it to Lexington.

Ron, my wife and I pray that you find peace and understanding during your period of sorrow. Time will heal the pain but the good memories will last forever. I worked for the SCL starting in 1968 so we do have some bonding here. God bless.

Sorry for your string of bad luck. Good news is "New Year just around the corner". Have a good one.

It's a bit cloudy in the big town of Zebulon but the temp will get close to 60 today and that means a ride is on the way. I've spent some time reading the watering hole recently and it gives me a warm heart. Everyone seems to understand the meaning and they also have a little fun with their friends. This is a good group....................Can't wait to meet more of this new family.

Just read your thread. If you will allow a North Carolinan and his bride to join you guys, I think we could make it. I'm retired and I would like to visit Gettysburg as well. Count me and the bride in.

Late reply due to my system crashed and I couldn't get into venture Rider. Just want to say that I too enjoy this organization and I have had the pleasure of meeting with a number of fine people due to VR.. As some others have said, my wife and I have a dream of making it down under before I croak so if this damn economy will get halfway okay again I intend to do it. And if I do, I want to look up some of you guys; that would be fun. I've had the privilege of meeting a number of Aussies and you guys would fit well in the South. I think we would fare okay down under. Merry Christmas.

I second that; I too am so thankful for our freedom and the sacrifice our soldiers make to ensure that freedom. Happy Thanksgiving.

My prayers to the family and friends. Thanks, PGR, for watching over this Marine who gave it his all. As a PGR member myself, I know that you will carry forward the mission and do it with honor. I do want to hear from you sometime next week and let all of us know, throughout the Country, that the family was taken care of. My prayers, once again, are with you.

I rode to Vass this saturday to see Steve and meet Earl from Pa. He's bumming around and fixing bikes for food and lodging until he has to go back to work or his bride tells him to come home. I didn't think my bike run that bad but Earl synced the carbs and put in two plugs and now I have a new bike. Earl has been invited to my house for steaks and lodging if he will put in the two front plugs; I think he's coming. Anyway, thanks Steve and Earl.

I like the gauges but I'm questioning myself if I am capable of hooking them up. Also, I use my mp3 and I sure don't want to screw up the plug-in. All of that said, put me in for a set; every time I look at the cassette I think of taking it out and just adding storage or something. Thanks

What can you tell me about this event? It sounds like a lot of fun but since I'm one of the ole men of the group, I don't get out much. When is it and what is it about? Thanks in advance everyone.

I put the fairing back on and did not grease the connectors. As well, I had to do some trim work on the bottom of the fairing to make it fit. I went on a PGR mission and the lights didn't fall off and they still work so I guess its okay. I still have to figure out how to put the lower wind fairing back on; I don't have anything to bolt to. Just another challenge for someone on SS and fixed income.

Sorry to keep coming to you guys..........I ain't electrically inclined. I am in the process of installing passing lights and mount on my 2004 Venture R/S. Does the turn signal wires connect in the fairing? I know I connect them to the lower portion of the mounting but I am trying to disconnect the turn signals and just removing the bolts, etc from the turn signal mount doesn't do the job. Where do you disconnect the wiring? I'll probably be back to ask another question but this will get me started. Thanks.

I ordered the running lights from Yamaha and bought the mount from a venture rider member. Everything is fine except the bolt that runs from the light frame and screws into the piece that holds the turn signals is missing. The bolt has a hole through the middle to run the wire through. Can't find it anywhere and the parts dept. I ordered the lights from seem to think I will have to order a bunch of things I don't need just to get the two bolts. Any ideas or does anyone have them laying around that would be willing to sell to me. Thanks.

Same to you buddy. And just so you know, my wife is not that overweight.
