  1. It looks like they mount under the mirror stems. Weird place for signal lights intended to be seen from the rear. They really ought to be behind you. Myself, I don't even like the looks of them. And all for only $149.
  2. Ooh, I'm getting slapped again. I'm sure stainless lines help, but this swap is still better. What did I say up there, anyone who tries this swap knows the difference. And if you haven't tried it, you only think you know but you don't. None so blind as those who refuse to see.
  3. Yes, it can. You'll also want to get a master cylinder from a Roadstar to match best with the calipers.
  4. All you need to do is make an L bracket that will mount to the RSV seat and then bolt it to the RSTD frame. Not really any pictures even needed on this one, it's so simple.
  5. Preach it, skydoc. I've done this same swap and the brakes are just flat incredible. Whenever I talk about it though, I get slapped around by someone or other saying that just putting braided lines on does the same thing. T'ain't true, and anyone who has actually done the swap knows it. Everybody should be doing this one.
  6. You do like to stir the pot, don't you. My linked pictures show up fine for myself and most other people. I have determined that it's not a problem on my end. It's a problem of the user's own computer.
  7. If we're going to add tags at the bottom, could we please try to spell things correctly? Spell Baron's with two rs like was done there and it won't turn up in a search. Could one of the mods please correct this, and also make cruiser and customizing two separate words?
  8. By your pictures, it looks like these actually mount the floorboards higher? Am I seeing it right? It sure doesn't look like they are any more forward at all. I think the only way to get them more forward or farther down is to fab up our own mounting brackets.
  9. Well, it's already hosted on here once. I was trying not to use up Don's space twice for the same picture. Go to the darksiders social group and view all the pictures there. At the moment, it's the sixth one over. I linked to it straight from there. I've picked up the idea that those who can't see pictures linked like that need to reset their browser. I also have several other pictures of this bike. This was the one that showed the front tire. What rear CT are you running?
  10. Hey, changing the oil on the V Star 1100 is a royal PIA. Yamaha ought to be drop kicked for that design. You didn't mention what boards you knew about. I know of such a board on Delphi. There are a few good technical types there. http://forums.delphiforums.com/yamaha1100/start My wife also rides one of these and I have a shop manual. What sort of problems is he having?
  11. What rear CT are you running?
  12. Someone on here had made his own that extend off the top of the lower fairings. He said they kept his knees more dry in the rain. I thought I had a picture but can't find it. I can't even remember who had done this. Lotta help I am.
  13. People do move when the thing sounds off. It's also funny to see the reaction of a herd of sheep or hens that have gotten out of their pen and are aimlessly wandering across the road. Living in the country, I have seen both more than once.
  14. Here's a pic of an old Indian with a CT on the front as well as the back. The pic was taken maybe fifteen years ago, when MTs were plentiful, and this guy still used CTs. So apparently it can be and has been done. What size it would take to fit our bikes, I don't know.
  15. I kinda wish the stator in mine would take a poop. I want one of Buckeye's stators, and if mine would quit, it would move to the head of the priority list pretty quickly. Thirteen years and over 50,000 miles on mine and still going good. Man, when you want something to break...
  16. Whatever. You can think what you like. Not going to argue about it.
  17. Leveling links and a narrower front tire will not change how far the forks will turn - which, outside of rider skill, is what determines the minimum turning radius. Only modifying the lock stops will change that. They only change handling characteristics. I can U turn inside of the width of an average two lane country road, whatever that is. I don't have to duck walk and back up to turn around. I haven't tried to push myself much smaller than that.
  18. He started out doing this work on the 1st gens, didn't he? This pillow top work is a later development.
  19. Could you have missed a vacuum leak somewhere when you checked the lines? It sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Get a big enough vacuum leak and the engine won't idle and will be hard to start.
  20. WWs or not? If so, I may be interested.
  21. The oil filter is in the lower ride side, behind a cover. The exhaust pipe has to be removed to get to it. PIA. Crummy design. But I'll tell you, I can remove the exhaust pipe a whole lot of times for what those oil filter relocation kits cost. My wife rides one of these bikes, so I went out to have a look. I've never noticed that little cover in there. I have no idea what it's for. I couldn't even find anything about it in the shop manual. A good way to find out is to take it off and see what's behind it. Maybe the cam chain? I don't know. If that's where the leak is coming from, it needs a new gasket or O ring anyway.
  22. Haven't seen an answer here yet. More than one of us would like to know. There must be some purpose in it.
  23. If you decide you want to stay Stateside but don't want to ride the toll road interstate, Hwy 20 runs virtually all the way there. It pretty well runs right beside the toll road. It looks like the only ugly part would be getting around Cleveland, OH. It looks like about the easiest way to handle that would be to jump up to 90 through Cleveland, then back to 20 on the other side. Anything else is a looooong ways around. As it turns out, it's looking like we're going to be heading up to Lori's sister's place near Rochester in about a month or so. We haven't been there in a few years, and we've never been there on the bike. Then I can add a couple more states to my map.
  24. Lori has a sister who lives just south of Rochester, NY. We get out there every couple years or so. As far as interstates go, the toll road is a pretty nice easy ride. We have never found traffic to be too bad. There are a few antique shop joints that we regularly stop at, but I couldn't tell you where they are. I only know them when I see them. There are a lot more we haven't stopped at too.
  25. This wheel right here looks pretty good. Not too far from your neck of the woods. I've seen them go for more. You couldn't modify a VMX wheel for this.
