  1. Yeah, I'm calling BS too. The history section shows 2nd gens have more hp.
  2. T-bag makes a small nice looking pet carrier. It's probably good for other items too.
  3. I've always heard not to feed a dog anything with chocolate in it, like your chocolate chip cookie that they're always begging for. Dogs don't have in their system what it takes to digest chocolate and they can't get rid of it and it is like a poison to them.
  4. The key to minimum abrasion on the windshield is to let your cleaner, whatever you use, soak for a bit. That softens the bugs and they'll wipe off without any scraping. If it runs down onto the fairing and fender while it's soaking, you'll have to clean those off too.
  5. Thanks for helping us feel a little warmer up here in these single digit temps today. But it's still a good tip. Most people don't drink enough water to stay properly hydrated for general good health, even if it's not as hot as that outside. Here's a good article for making your own evaporative cooling vest. http://www.ibmwr.org/otech/coolties.html
  6. Glad you like the new seat. But hey man, your galleries have no pics in them. What gives?
  7. It's hogwash. This sounds like one of those things that gets picked up by a mass group of people and blindly repeated by many who haven't tried it themselves and don't know what they're talking about. It happens a lot.
  8. Here's a site the women riders might enjoy. I forget where I turned this up. http://www.her-motorcycle.com/
  9. The engine is actually physically smaller on the outside than our current V4s? Wow. That surprises me. I wonder how much a crate engine would cost. Hopefully they designed a strong enough second gear in that transmission and nobody has to go through all that again. I do have an ancestor who was an orphan in Germany before he came to this continent. Maybe I need to go over there and find out which orphanage. It won't be long before the wife and I have passports anyway, as we're going to need them even just to go to Canada.
  10. Second dibs.
  11. My wife rides an '02 V Star 1100. It's just too boring riding on the back with me. She wants me to give it a custom paint job this summer, but hasn't decided exactly what she wants it to be yet. I did not realize how many women riders we had on here.
  12. Whatever you do, don't get a Mac. They're not popular enough for the low lifes to bother writing viruses for them. But if too many people start buying them, I may have to start troubling myself with antivirus software. Right now, that, and the stability of OS X, make life on a computer really easy.
  13. Congratulations. I wish I could get a ride on a machine like this. It's going to be quite a while before I even get to see one. You know, if you keep smiling so hard, your face will freeze like that. Just wait until you get a few miles on it and you can really wind it up. So what mod is going to be first?
  14. You're a couple months off to be pulling a line like that. This is February 1st, not April 1st.
  15. The funny thing about making a job out of something you like to do and getting paid for it, it takes all the fun out of it. It's happened to me. I hope it doesn't happen to you.
  16. Hey, I'd like to see some pics of stunts like these. You don't see very many people getting this trick on a Venture. Do you do stoppies on the front wheel too?
  17. The engine doesn't need to be running. Stick your finger down in the carbs and see if the slides move or if they're stuck. If they won't open up all the way, the bike won't be able to rev up much at all. If they're good, why I'm sure the the seafoam will be your magic genie in a bottle. It fixes everything, no wrenches needed.
  18. Twelve thou? They're supposed to last longer than that. You been doing burnouts? You going to go for a Federal next time?
  19. Do the throttle slides open up freely by hand?
  20. Gee whiz, yeah, with a center stand, what's the complaint?
  21. Have you worn your BFG out already? I think you should change your name to cartire.
  22. There's no room for a dipstick underneath the fill cap. It would hit the clutch.
  23. No experience with a Mustang seat. But if it's leg room and knees not hitting the handlebars that you're looking for, you might consider a Corbin. I'm 6'1" 34" inseam myself. My Corbin Dual Tour seat sets me a bit higher and a bit farther back, which gave me more leg room than I thought this bike had in it.
  24. Just the seat and the tank. Shouldn't be too difficult.
  25. I just realized something. We didn't see Sherry in the calendar. Where was she?
