Praying for peace and healing for your Father. Matthew 7: Ask, Seek, Knock 7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

I will start restoring my 88 in about 3-4 weeks. I am going to need, at the very least, the faring...both sides and dash panels. I need to know what years will fit? Anyone here have them, i'd just as soon spend my money here.

Thanks Mr Russell I think I have located a switch...........(Good folks here ya know, always have been). I'll be working on that very problem while waiting on it to get here. Out of curiosity, i have not been on a lot in a while, where is the "Trophy" hair? is it still floating around the country? ... Looks like it has grown back nicely.

Throwing this in for kicks, Lemon pledge is a pretty good polish for the wind screen. it does help with the glare. Probably do need a new one. even very fine scratches make one virtually useless at night. ic23b's comments are good, all i would add is don't wipe in circular motions. up and down motions don't put the swirls in the plastic that cause much of the glare. oh yea, one more..........NEVER USE THE SQUEEGEE AT THE SERVICE STATION, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY A NEW SHIELD............(don't ask.)

I found the problem with the headlight. It is the start button............ Wanted to see if anyone here had one to sell before i look at e-bay........ My starter button has melted around the contacts, never saw that before.

Thanks for the quick replies! :} The problem is that I wont be able to take possession until next week. it is about 200 miles from me and that is the first chance i will have to go get it. As i understand the problem,........there is no head light at all.... I have an 83 that had the problem with the hi beam not working. it turned out to be the cold soldier joints in the computer in the dash...........I don't know if it is a common problem with the 88 or not. Hadn't thought about the start button. I have that problem with the 83, i have to pop it a time or two to get the light to come on on it (i should have thought of that) I had hoped someone would be familiar with the problem and give me some good starting points. .............keep 'em coming:think:

thanks to Don and Rocket my class computer is working great. Don pointed me to the 1st. gen tech forum. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=493 Rocket, Paul if i remember right, actually called me and told me how to operate the thing. I had requested that info and He made the call within a few minutes of my post. This is definately an "Above and Beyond" group of folks. Rocket also told me that it may take more than one try at "the fix" to get it right, He was right. and, I think the trace was bad on the board because i wound up putting a couple of jumpers on the board to get it to work.. Thanks again:bowdown: Now if i could just get the blinkers and cruise to work.
