1983 parts interchangability??
fixit3546 replied to a topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
As for second gear, There is a way to repair it that is proven and fairly inexpensive. You can find all the info on it right here on this site. Just search "second gear" And you will have plenty of advice if you ask for it. might get some if ya don't ask. The work is fairly involved and involves removing the engine and splitting the case. Not hard at all if you are handy with tools. By the way, Pictures are required. Welcome aboard. -
YICS System
fixit3546 replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Randy, I thiink it has something to do with stabilizing the vaccume on the cylinders. I could be wrong. I had the jason mod on mine for a while; but i put it back on the YICS a couple of weeks ago because i need to "Sync my carbs" and you cant do that with the Jason Mod so i'm told. I might get around to doing the sync some day. I cant tell much difference with the Jason mod; but it sure sounds better (at idle) with it.- 5 replies

Welcome to the greatest site on the web, And to the Greeeat staut of Mis'sipi. I can only attest to What Whiskey said. Your here, that's all you need. I can't speak to the question about the dealers, I don't use them. Only because I have a Classic Original First gen. (old bike) and i do my own work. I'm up in Yazoo county. a few miles to the north west of you. Mean Dog and myself have sorta been kicking around the idea of putting an Eat and Meet together in the next month or so, So keep an eye out here for the post. you and your's are invited. And since i mentioned it, Preliminary thoughts are a Pot Luck BBQ maybe at a park or a centraly located volunteers house. That's enough for now.............................

I'm thinkin about a new 1st.gen for myself one day. I sure would like to trike the '83; but i have no idea where to start. I'd like to keep the venture power plant (engine) But i have no idea what type of rear end would lend itself to the project. Any ideas....................???

I just feel like this fits.......... My Prayers for you and your family. (Moderators: looking at Tom's profile I see that he is PGR but dosen't have the award. May I request it in his behalf.) Psalms Chapter 116 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. 2Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. 3The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. 4Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. 5Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. 6The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. 7Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. 8For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. 9I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living. 10I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted: 11I said in my haste, All men are liars. 12What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? 13I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. 14I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people. 15Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. 16O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. 17I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord. 18I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people, 19In the courts of the Lord’S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

Help, Turn Signals Quit.
fixit3546 replied to motorbiketim's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'm not positive; but i think you can access the flasher and canceling unit by removing the signal light (if your fore-arsm arent too large). Part of the canceling system us a sensor in the inst panel that detects the speedo speed to cancel at 30 Mph, I was going to sugest that you check the E-flashers; but you have done that........... -
Yep, everything is good now, I've been out "flying" a couple of times already.

Hey Squeeze, i got that washer in the right place. the problem was the clutch rod seal had backed out. and it was POURING oil. I rode it home from work and had a heavy smoke screeen behind me. Thanks Randy, i'll remember that one.
-
Greased up (after cleaning) my steering head bearings and took a nice little ride, 'bout 15 miles or so. No tranny trouble; but i have a major oil leak somewhere behind the final drive cover. I hope it is just a seal slipped out. Or even a missaligned cover gasket. It's bad.
