Ok, now this is getting stupid. It started out nuts and is getting worse. I don't want to take it in until after the Santa ride because it always seems to take a month or more to fix anything. Symptoms.......turn on ignition and there is nothing, totally dead. Fuss with ignition...nothing. Hit kick stand a couple times and dash lights up but as soon as I hit the start everything goes dead. Hit the kick stand a couple more times and everything works and it starts right up. Now I have a new one. Hit the kick stand and nothing comes on but the bike starts. No display or lights but it runs. ????

You are right. Mixing chlorine and ammonium creates a highly toxic gas with a strong aroma. I put a bucket into the cabin then sat outside while I poured the liquids into it then shut the cabin door. One of the cleaners at work mixed the wrong cleaning chemicals and blew up a toilet.

Had otter move into my sailboat. Otters make skunks smell nice. I got ammonium cleaner and chlorine cleaner and mixed them together and put the bucket in the boat. They were gone the next day.

Thanks guys. For now I think I will go with the 2x4 but look into the adapter. I have never used one of these before. How steady are they? I have a gravel driveway.

Rode it.

I just got a brand new MotoMaster bike jack at our Rod and Gun garage sale. The box had never been opened. Paid $25.00 for it. I am ready to use it but I thought I would check with the Gurus here as how best to position it under my 02 Venture.

Wouldn't have to hit him with the 357, it would scare him to death. Course the roof might need a wee bit of repair afterwards.

If the pellet gun doesn't work I have a 357 magnum you could try.

My 02 Venture has a problem. I think it involves the kick stand cutout switch. When I go to start the bike I have it in neutral and the clutch lever in and kick stand up. I turn on the ignition and there is nothing. Turning the ignition on and off does nothing. Moving the kick stand up and down will sometimes get the dashboard to light up but when I hit the ignition it all goes dead again. If I keep moving the kick stand it will eventually allow the bike to start. I have got under the bike but can find no loose connections. Any suggestions? Taking it to a dealer means taking a ferry and riding to Ladysmith and leaving it for a time which means I need to arrange a ride home then go back to get it.

Had 3 of the little beasts try to commit suicide under my front wheel on the way back from Castlegar. One made a dash for my front wheel, I zigged, 30 feet later I had to zag, another 30 feet and I zigged again.

I ain't old! Unfortunately my body disagrees with me. We are hardly on speaking terms any more. I think it is ingratitude after all the parts I have had replaced.

Just a youthful 72 here. Been riding 40 years now. Must admit when I dropped the Venture last year it was a strain getting it back up. Thinking of downsizing. Hate to give up the Venture but it is a bit heavy. It will stay in the family though, my son has his eye on it. Got a 20 ft Chinook motorhome last year. Might get a trailer and a smaller bike to tow. OMG!!!! I just realized, I must be getting old!

A big thanks to Rick for setting up the meet in Castlegar. It was nice to see old friends and meet new ones. The picnic was great. Good riding roads, so it was damp at times but what's a little rain among friends.

We recently went to Calgary along Hwy 3 from Vancouver and back to Vancouver on Hwy 1. Hwy 1 takes you to Jasper which is a big tourist area. Lots of traffic. You can get high cross winds there. We liked Hwy 3 due to very little traffic and even better scenery. If you do get out this way I would take 3 but be prepared for a long haul up and a long way down. Check coolant and brakes. Take frequent stops to check the scenery. You go from corner to corner and it is hard to check out the scenery while trying to keep your eyes on the road.

It pays to volunteer. Today I was working with the Saltspring car club to set up the Canada Day car show. I wore my Pit Crew tee shirt. At noon I changed into my Santa outfit and did a promo for the Santa toy run for underprivileged kids. Then I changed into my Toy run tee shirt and helped them out. I had my 46 chev p/u in the show and a guy came up and said he had done the pin striping on my truck but the guy that owned it had taken off with it half finished. He said it was all paid for so tomorrow he is coming over to finish it up. Good Canada Day.

Mindless violence is always ugly and unnecessary. I was in England and used to go to the corner pub in the evenings. One evening I left and about an hour later the IRA blew the place up. For what? An already lost cause.

'microaggression' - Soon you won't be able to say anything to anyone.

Years ago some of the women "other sexualy oriented" decided they were going to re name parts of the ship. For example they objected to the term "grease nipple". I suggested it be changed to " lubrication insertion orifice". They did not like that either. I asked what they were going to do about the game of Golf. I pointed out golf is flog spelt backwards. Men wave their clubs and drive their balls to the holes. They went away. -

Shorter "Bagger style" windscreen vs full wind screen on RSV
Sailor replied to Road_couch's topic in Watering Hole
I did not like the full size screen as I could not see through it in the rain and it was too tall to see over. I got a shorter one, I think it is 13 inches and I can see over it but it still gives good protection. -
What it does not show is all the mountain ranges in BC. Time and distance vary greatly depending on how many mountains you have to get over to go from point A to point B.

Windows 10 Upgrade Review, Tips, Tricks, and Traps
Sailor replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
Thanks for the help folks. I know my contacts are somewhere in the computer but windows 10 won't let me access them. If I click on contacts it goes to Google contacts preview which is a dead end. I went online to try to get rid of contacts preview and it tells me how but at the end there is a tab to click on but the tab is missing. -
Windows 10 Upgrade Review, Tips, Tricks, and Traps
Sailor replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
I had to get a new computer. My old one didn't crash but at 12 years it was getting cranky. Got the new one and it had windows 10 already in it. It is ok but I find the g-mail overly complicated. I had a pro come in and transfer my info. Problem....my contacts disappeared. A few that I use regularly are still there but the rest no longer exist. I cannot get into my contacts list. I get Google contacts preview instead. Just a blank screen with a ball on it. I let it run for 20 minutes one time but still got nothing. On the internet I follow the directions as posted but at the last step the tab they tell me to click on does not exist. Very frustrating.
