  1. So we bought a travel trailer and a Rampage Lift. I found a second hand lift that had never been installed about an hour and a half north of me. I picked it up for half of what a new on costs. I got it installed and tried it out a couple of times to get the hang of using it. Going up is really smooth, but coming down you need to go really slow at the point where the bike starts to tip back. It has a tendency to want to wobble side to side. All in all, i think this is going to suit our needs.
  2. I'm in. We (my wife and I) are changing the way we travel with our bike. She recently told me she doesn't want to do 10 day 4000 mile rides any more. She still wants to travel, and she still wants to ride, but not that hard core. So I bought a Rampage lift for the bed of my truck, and we bought a travel trailer. Bike and living quarters all together. It's a new chapter in our motorcycling life.
  3. Thanks. I'm not really looking to make my own travel trailer.
  4. I can't go to Mountain Master's website. It triggers my virus protection on my computer. I have a gen 2. The overall length is 8.7 feet. It's 8.4 to the rear fender. My bed is 8.2 feet. I wouldn't be able to put the tailgate up no matter what.
  5. My wife just informed me that she doesn't think she's up for 10 day 3000 to 4000 mile trips on the bike any more. She still wants to ride and see the country but that kind of riding is too much. So we have been talking about options. The one that seems most reasonable is, get a travel trailer to tow behind my 2001 Dodge 2500 diesel and a lift system to get the bike in the bed. There aren't a lot of options for lifts. The one that seems most practical is the Rampage lift. It seems simple to use and look like it's well built. Pricey though. Does anyone have experience with this lift? If so how do you like it? Pros, Cons? Thanks. Rich
  6. What's a range report without after target pics? . I have never shot the glock but I really like my M&P 40s. They are as accurate as the shooter. I also have 9mm barrels and mags for them and they shoot just as accurate.

    Pipes

We rode with Bubs for about six years. We got tired of being worn out after a long day in the saddle from the pipes. I swapped out the Bubs for Monster Ovals. What a big difference. The MO have that low rumble at low RPMs then open up a bit when getting on it. At cruising speed you can still hear them but, for us, they are not so loud that they beat you up after riding all day. I really like them. I wish I had installed these first. Down side is, they are really expensive and, you have to make your own mounting bracket
  8. I'm a novice reloader. I got started in 2013 when everything guns was very scarce. I bought a Dillon SDB because I new I would never want to reload rifle ammo, yeah right. After we picked up a couple rifles, and, California kept passing laws restricting gun and ammo purchases I decided I needed to reload rifle too. So I bought a Dillon XL650. Then theneighbor next door asked if I was interested in some reloading stuff. I said sure, can't have to much gun stuff. He gave me several tubs of stuff, including a Dillon RL550. We need to go shooting more so that I can justify reloading more. The problem is, the range that was just 15 minutes away closed for a remodel 3 years ago and is still closed. Now the closest range is about an hour away.
  9. 'The Outlaw Josey Wales', and 'Quigley Down Under', two of my favorites as well. If I'm channel surfing and I land on either of those I'll stop and watch.
  10. I haven't noticed the harmonics issue at speed, but maybe it's because I went from Baron 4-2 Nasty Boy Pipes to the Monster Ovals. The MOs have made it so we are no longer worn-out from the loud pipes after a long day in the saddle. I wish I had put these mufflers on in the first place.
  11. This is what I finally did. I used a file folder and cut it 2" X 11" to use as a template. I slipped one of the mufflers on the header pipe and aligned it by eye. Then I took the blank file folder template and lined it up with the holes in the muffler and the bracket on the bike. I marked, on the blank file folder template where the holes need to be. Voila! Template to make my bracket.
  12. When I learned to drive we had a 1962 Rambler Station Wagon with 3 on the column and a 1963 Mercedes 190D with four on the floor. I had no choice.
  13. I had the same experience, SkyDoc is the way to go.
  14. I also use a set of vacuums gauges like the Emgo 84-68594. These work very well.
  15. One might conclude that there are some anti-gun UPS drivers out there!
  16. That's a nice portrait of you Condor. ;-)
  17. I have been using Harley ride planner for several years with no issues and all of a sudden it doesn't see my GPS. My computer sees the GPS. Anyone else experience this?
  18. I know you said you don't want to spent the money on a good gps, but the Garmin 660 and the HD Ride Planner website have been invaluable over the years. It might be something to consider.
  19. Lots of Wingers swear by their car tires. Most have run flats. As for me, I've never been tempted.
  20. So I wonder if this has affected Dynojet yet?
  21. How's this for a work of art.
  22. Boy Condor, I feel your pain. I haven't purchased any collectibles but since Sandy Hook, because of the flood of new gun and ammo control laws here in CA, we have spent a small fortune on guns and ammo. We have purchase numerous pistols and rifles. A bunch of ammo, 22lr, 9mm, 40S&W, 223, 308. This doesn't even include the reloading equipment and components. I could have bought a new bike for cash with what we have spent on gun related stuff.
  23. I didn't have time this weekend to make revisions to the template but I'm sure that won't be a problem. I found plans for brackets that use 2" wide steel that look like they might be easier to make. See Attached. They are for the RK mufflers so I'll still need to make them to fit the MOs. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  24. I'm glad I only made a template and not the brackets.
  25. I received the new mufflers the other day and when I opened up the box there was no hardware. That's being taken care of by the seller. While I was waiting for the mufflers to get here i made a template for the mounting bracket from a drawing I found on the internet, it's probably here too. Lining the template up with the bracket welded to the mufflers the bolt holes are an inch and a half off. The holes on the mufflers are 2" on center and the diagram show them to be 3.5" on center. Anyone else run into this? Here's the diagram I am referring to.
