No matter which motorcycle jack you buy, do your self a favor and buy the Carbon One adapter. It's well worth the money.

You can go to the link below and find it. I'm sure it's one of these. http://www.colorrite.com/matrix-colors.cfm?CFID=2422740&CFTOKEN=17680291

Walmart!

Here's one, but it's expensive. I like it because it's small and it has a ground block built in. http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Products/Fuseboxes/PC-8/pc-8.html

why would't FI work on RSV
uechi kid replied to footsie's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have just learned that you still need to sync multi throttle body fuel injection systems. So don't worry about maintenance day. There will still be enough to do. -
You can really see that there are duel throttle bodies in the Bikebandit schematic. Now I just need to find out how to synchronize them. Strange that the shop manual doesn't address this. Unless I missed it (been know to happen). Thanks everyone.

OK, I have two bikes. A RSV which has four carburators and an 04 Suzuki M95 V twin which is fuel injected. In my research I have found that a multi throttle body fuel injected V Twin needs to be synced. Now I'm trying to find out if the M95 has two throttle bodies. My service manual NEVER discusses synchronizing the throttle bodies. Which leads me to think there is one throttle body that feeds two cylinders.

Thanks, I'll check into that.

Cool. Thanks -
We own a RSV and it's now time to start doing my own maintenance (no more local dealer). So I'm buying the tools to do a carb sync and I start thinking about my Suzuki M95/ MS. Do we need to sync the carbs on our V twin's? I've never seen a post about that.

Seafoam is great stuff. I'll give that a try just for the heck of it. I don't use gas with ethanol in it. Unless ALL gas has ethanol in it these days but I thought they had to post on the pump if there is ethanol in the gas. Thanks for the suggestions. -

Well I have a bit Of a miss at idle so I thought I'd check them. I need to get a carb sync tool to sync the carbs. I figure that could also cause the miss. Who builds a bike that you need to remove the tank to check the plugs? What am I getting my self into? Good thing I'm not working. -
Whats in your tool bag?
uechi kid replied to Sandbagger's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Did you say beer? Oh, you did include that. Cool, I was afraid you might have miss the most important thing. -
I'm not a beginner at mechanics exactly just new to working on RSV. I haven't done my own maintenance for a long time but there isn't any place close to take the bike any more so...here I go again. OK, now the question. Do you need to remove the tank to check the spark plugs? I was looking to see if you can get to them with the tank on and I didn't see how. I check the service manual and it didn't say to remove the tank. Did I miss something?

All I can find are the smoked ones. I'd like the clear.

Looks like you'll be the first. Make sure you take lots of pictures.

So is this an easy tool to use? Does it need to be calibrated each time you use it? With no dealer close by and unreliable shops, I'm being forced to do my own maintenance. I have synced carbs before but no longer have the sync tool (had Mercury in it). Thanks
-
Yep, that's exactly what I would do. It doesn't work properly and they need to take care of the problem.
-
I think you're going to end up taking it to the deal. You might as well pick a time when you aren't going to ride for a while and get it looked at. After you get that warranty transfered that is.

In our Star Group we only have a few Ventures and use CBs all the time. The J&M units are what the other buy when they get CB, intercom units. They work great.

I saw a post about this from a few years ago. Just wondering if anyone has done a full on stage one upgrade? The baron big air kit lets it breath and give you more fuel and a full exhaust upgrade (2") will finish it off. http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/254/index.html
