I agree with saddlebum on this one. My bike is still running an elite II on the front and its in great shape. I was told that they havent made the tire for sometime ,the tire was on my bike when i bought it about a year ago. matt

Well heres another one. Im fearing the worst with this one. Sometimes when i go to start my bike ( 83 royal ) I get a grinding noise from the starter it sounds like two gears grinding together but not engaging all the way. Sort of like when a bendix goes out on a car starter and since these bikes dont have a bendix this cant be good. Has anyone experinced this. Im thinking maybe the starter clutch is bad. I have recently put in a new stator which frustrates me because now i may have to tear down that side of the engine again, which means ruining those new gaskets. when it grinds i let off the button and try again and it does'nt do it it works normal on the second try thanks for your help MATT

hope someone can help me woith this one because it sure has me puzzled. My 84 venture has recently started making a buzzing or very loud humming noise that seems to be coming from the dash area behind the tach and spedometer. the noise starts usally when the bike gets just above 40mph and stops when you slow the bike to near a stop. I can place my hand on the dash when it starts and can feel the vibration from the buzzing it is very frustrating and it does it most of the time but not all the time. ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY
