This is a shocker. Yama Mama

I do not have any steel braids boys. I stopped wearing those during the last thunderstorm we had. I do not need to be a human lightening rod. I always wanted an electric personality but that would be too much. Yama Mama

Flyinfool, you mean me or the bike? Hehehe, I think of her that way. However, when some one compliments are bike, Ron always says "It's old!". I am afraid to here what he says about me. Yama Mama
-
I think that is a plan for sure. May suggest we start checking other little items on the bike that could be in need of replacing. She is 16 years old now. Poor baby. Yama Mama

New slave cylinder has arrived. Supposed to rain tomorrow. What up with that? Oh well, Sunday is going to be nice. At any rate, our dependable bike will be back to her old ways again. Yama Mama

Dan, you silly. I had on my sight glasses! By the way, the part has not come yet. Still on bike to ride. Missing all this beautiful fall colors. Yama Mama

It turns out that our bike is too dependable. Ron does normal maintenance on it and we ride it. It starts up and rides so nice always. Of course, I guess we are spoiled. Just assume it is going to run perfectly every time. Well, this past Sunday we found out our bike is getting older. We started out on a ride and about 2 miles from home Ron could not shift. We stopped and he took the cover off the clutch fluid bowl and surprise no fluid in there at all. I looked on the tank and it did still say Venture, so we were on the right bike. So Ron got us home in second gear and when we think that we were headed to Indiana, we were lucky. It would have been a really long ride home in second gear. We have been lucky, we have just been spoiled. It has been such a great bike, we sure cannot complain about it starting to show it's age. Hopefully, we will be back on the road soon. Yama Mama

With over 12,000 members Get your Butts in gear !!!!
Yama Mama replied to Brake Pad's topic in Watering Hole
Ron and I have been members here since 2008. Actually, we were members before the site crashed, so I lost track. We have enjoyed meeting members when we have gone to Freebird's over the years. We have not been able to come to other meets. Usually have things going on here in our family. We babysit our grandsons two days a week. We are the only babysitters. No back up. We are both retired and probably getting near the time we will be hanging up our helmets. Not yet, but it is probably not that far off in the future. We both still love it now though. I think there are leaders and there are followers. Some here are leaders and we appreciate your efforts in organizing events for socializing. But you have to remember, not everyone is here to be social. Ron and I prefer to ride alone. The only time we rode with someone else was our son in law and daughter before they had children. Like I said we thank you for your efforts, but we are not all here for the same reason. I think this is the greatest group of motorcycle folks there is and hope that it continues to grow in size. When Ron and I were first married. I worked for a doctor. A patient told me about the 350 Honda CB he had that he had wrecked the from end. We went to see it and bought it for I think $200. We fixed it and repainted the tank. We used to ride it all over, never knew how little it was until we bought our Honda 500. We still have the 350. It was a 68. Yama Mama

Happy Birthday Dan! I hope you are pain free today! Have a wonderful day! Yama Mama

Have you ever had thoughts of hanging it up on riding?
Yama Mama replied to Eck's topic in Watering Hole
From a passenger point of view, I think of what it will be like when we no longer ride our bike. It makes me sad to think about it. I know I will have to accept it, when Ron says he no longer wants to ride. We started riding when we were first married. We gave it up when we had 3 children. In 2002, we bought our RSV. It has given us so much fun and introduced us to so many people we would never have met, if we had never had our bike. Like I said, as a passenger I guess I have to wait to see when Ron no longer wants to ride. I know it has slowed down more in the past years. But I am still always ready to ride any where, any time. I am sure I will be able to adjust to this news. I guess I will have to actually wash the dishes, clear the table, fold the clothes, cut the grass, walk the dog, and all the other things I do regularly a little earlier in the evening. But what will I do the next night. Thank you Don, you are the best. What ever happens I will understand. Yama Mama

I appreciate all your efforts Don. Flyinfool, Yammer Dan, Painterman, bj66, rbig1, and all the others who frequent the chatroom will be waiting patiently. Thank you for working on that for us. We always have so much fun chatting together. It would be really hard to have to give it up. Thanks again. Yama Mama(For Dan!)

I just saw that the chatroom is out of order. I know this has happened before. Hey, Don when you get this chatroom back on could you ask them about Yama Mama's whip sound. I have had a lot of requests. See what you can do. Yama Mama

Thanks for posting that. I think it really sounded good. I am sure it is even more impressive in person. Yama Mama

Gee, I hope someone helps you. Obviously, I am not the one to ask. May be someone else will help us. Yama Mama

I am only a passenger. But I do notice that when a Harley is in the vicinity of our bike, all of a sudden our bike seems to increase in speed. I do not know if Ron (my first husband) will admit to it, but to me it is obvious. Our bike might be a 99 but it still can purr when it needs too. Yama Mama
-
That is interesting. You have the same bike as we have. Could you possible post a video so we can hear how it sounds. Just curious. Yama Mama

I see that I already goofed this up. But if you hit the posted link, it will lead you to other videos that show the product I am referring too. Sorry, I thought that I was better than this. These also will fit on Indians and Gold Wings. Yama Mama

I know a woman should never post something like this, but I am anyway. We met a guy at our recent rally in Cincinnati demonstrating these. I never knew anything like this existed. They are really big in Europe and just starting up here in the USA. https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?p=Dr.+Jekyl+Mr.+Hyde+exhaust+system&ei=UTF-8&hspart=mozilla&hsimp=yhs-001 See if this works. If it doesn't just look them up on You Tube. I think it is really a clever idea and if it fits an Ultra Classic, I would think it would work on a Venture. But I am a women and I will step back. I took my own video at the rally but I am having trouble uploading it. Oh, I forgot this costs $1800.00. Yama Mama

We did have a crowd of 6 last night I believe. We really need more to break the all time record of 18. We had a new visitor last night. Big adVenture from NJ came in to give it a try and we thank him for that. So I know more of you secretly have always wanted to come into NEKED CHAT and this is your chance. Yama Mama

We need more people to just stop in to chat. Please the record is going down the tubes. Yama Mama
