  2. So good to have you back Rattlesnake. We are so glad things are looking better for you and your family. Peggy
  3. Here is the story. Certainly is a shame to lose a life. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23293971 Mama
  4. GROUP HUG! DON IS DA MAN! Seriously, thank you for you hard work and sacrifices you make for our group. Peggy
  5. Okay, I am trying to be open minded about this whole thing. I know that the Gold Wing is an excellent motorcycle. However, I personally think the Yamaha RSV is an excellent motorcycle too. Some have had bad experiences with other brands. Some engineering mistakes are made. But I do recall that in the past, the Gold Wing had a major flaw of having the aluminum frame crack. Now I think I would rather deal with the crack on the fairing. We have a 99 RSV, bought it used. We love it. Yes Yamaha could have improved the RSV, but I think that too much negative comments can sway future purchasers from buying a Venture. I also realize, that since I am a woman, this commentary will be laughed at. But that is the way I feel about it. Love our bike. Would not ever get rid of it. Peace be with you both. Peggy
  6. I will certainly pray for your Mom's recovery. You are so lucky to have your Mom. Peggy
  7. Interesting responses fellas;I think we are off the topic now. I knew you were all real men here!
  8. That was a good story Bobbie; it would be a good one for Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I can feel the love. Peggy
  9. Infonaut, I am curious what brand tire you replaced the Avon rear tire with? Just curious. A woman's prerogative I suppose. Mama
  10. While I was at our fellowship gathering after church, I saw a church member that I know rides an HD Ultra. Since it has been cold here in Cincinnati, I asked him if he has been riding his bike. He said some. I innocently asked, if he has been wearing HEATED GLOVES? He looked at me a bit strangely and replied that he was TOO MUCH OF A MAN to wear heated gloves. So I said, Most of the real men I know have hands, and in the winter their hands seem to be more comfortable in the cold with heated gloves. He had nothing else to say. Then I got to thinking, most of the HD people I see ride by wear gloves even in the hot weather, so much for fellowship. I guess I need to tell him to GET A GRIP. Peggy
  11. Yes, we actually had more fun in the parking lot, looking at the bikes and talking to the people. There are a bunch of vendors and all kinds of demo rides you can sign up for. I think it is worth the trip. Peggy
  12. Here is the site for the Honda Hoot. http://www.hondahoot.com/brochure.aspx?bhcp=1 Ron and I have gone 2 times, there are all kinds of bike there. It starts June 17 and goes through June 21st. And of course, the Smokeys are near by. There are Demo rides of all the main makes of bikes and plenty of vendors. Peggy
  13. Thanks for all your advice. It was a long day today at work. The other problem was I kept hearing MC Hammer singing "Can't Touch This". Is this some rare subliminal message from the powers that be? But I have this happen to me a lot, and as far as getting rid of thoughts which keep me awake, it is not possible. I have never been able to do it, no matter how hard I try. I have a very stressful job and was really stressed this week to make matters worse. Wish me luck tonight. Thanks. Oh Red you could be right about your idea. Thanks. Peggy
  14. Dennis, I am so sorry about your loss of you Father. Thank you for telling us about him. I also want to say I know how you were taking care of your parents, from us talking on chat. You did a wonderful job, and I know how much it hurts to lose your Father. Thank you again for sharing this with our members. You have so many wonderful memories to recall of your life with him. God Bless you and your family. Peggy
  15. I agree, I cannot believe that our Jethro could be 70. Of course, he never was real smart on the Beverly Hillbillys. Too bad, he never did just enjoy his money and the nice cement pond in the backyard. Oh and Randy you are not old. Anybody that has such a nice First Gen. as you, could never be old. Peggy
  16. Yep here I am, 1:15AM. What is wrong with this picture. Dead tired, yet cannot sleep. You know the old song Tossin and Turnin? Well, here I am posting a thread about not being able to sleep. Where did I come to post; of course my family site. No point to this whole message other than, why when I was absolutely exhausted, could hardly keep my eyes open while I was on chat tonight, then I go to bed and voila, here I am. Wide a wake! Took 2 Benadryl which could put a full grown horse to sleep, did not have any caffeinated beverage before bedtime, worked harder than any normal day at work, and here I am. I know there is no point to this post other than, how many of you have had this same thing happen to you? You know the next day at work is going to be a tough one, thoughts are pouring through every crevice of your brain, you try to fight it, and yet you cannot sleep. Why oh why oh why. I just answered my own question. No motorcycling! After a great motorcycle ride out in the country, with that fresh air, I always can sleep. No wonder, I am wide a wake tonight. The weather stinks, ice, slush, and cold. I figured it out. I cannot sleep because I cannot ride my most favorite thing in the world. The only piece of metal that makes me so happy, and gets rid of all my worries and woes. The greatest sleeping medication ever invented. Our Royal Star Venture. I am going to go back to bed now. Going to dream of those 4 cylinders running down a nice winding country road. The warm wind blowing in my face, our favorite tunes playing, and absolutely no worries. Just riding on the greatest motorcycle we have ever owned. Ah I feel I can sleep now. Good night friends and thanks for the little talk; I needed it so badly. Peggy
  17. Randy certainly sorry to hear of this loss of life of another biker, especially one who was serving our country. I wish the young bikers would realize what speed machines they are trying to deal with. Also, I wish that the thrill of the acceleration of the powerful speed machines, would not overtake their good sense of knowing that life is so precious and not worth the obvious risk. May God bless him and may he rest in peace. Peggy
  18. God bless his little heart. I will send my paper airplane and , my prayers to him and his parents. Peggy
  19. How exciting! Enjoy every moment of it! God Bless you both. Peggy:ice_awesome-vi46644

  23. Congratulations on your new GW! Just in case any one is interested there is a Honda Homecoming every year in Marysville, Ohio usually toward the end of July. There are test drives and a tour of the Honda factory where the Gold Wings are built. We plan to go there this year to take the tour. However, we will ride home on our 99 RSV. Peggy
  24. That was a nice video, I felt like I was lucky enough to ride too. No, I am still too depressed to even pretend. Thanks for the video. Glad some one is riding. Peggy:wow:
  25. Thanks for the photos, seeing is believing. Hey but be careful out there, no reason to prove any more points. We got it. Peggy:snow2:
