highwaypeg, The more I read these responses the angrier I get about this whole thing. Have your ever test driven a Sportster? I would go and ride one. I think the VStar sits lower too, The Sportster looks like it sits higher. How tall are you? That might make a difference to you. But your bike is so sharp, the Sportster does not even come close to the looks of yours. I am supporting you highwaypeg. I know we live close to eachother. I think we need to meet sometime soon. And I would love to meet your hubby too. Yama Mama:big-grin-emoticon:

highwaypeg, Your post really upsets me. I really think this is terrible that your husband is forcing you to sell the VStar that you love. I say do not do it. If you love your bike why should you have to sell it. Would you ask your HD Honey to sell his because you want to hang with us Yamaha bikers. NEVER. This is 2009 not 1899. Women have rights too, and this is your right. STAND UP TO HIM. And then give me a call. Yama Mama:innocent-emoticon:

Fellas I never said it was a good deal, I said we saw someone buy the Venture. It was a gold and black one. We even sat on it, to get the feeling of the pillow top seats. But we rode away with a smile on our faces, on our 99 which we still love. Cause it did not cost us $18,500. Yama Mama

Nice photos Mini, it is a shame you cannot get to North Carolina from Ohio. You have to start somewhere else. Yama Mama:big-grin-emoticon:

Ron and I went to a Yamaha Open House today, in Fairfield, Ohio. It was a good crowd. They had one 2009 Royal Star Venture in the show room. We saw a couple looking at it and went over to see what was taking place. We told them we have one, and how we really love it. Of course, a Harley guy comes buy and points out about the Ultra has a CD player on it. The couple still bought the new RSV. They seemed happy. They paid $18, 500, but they were happy. Yama Mama

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and there just does not seem to be many meet and eats planned in Ohio. I do not know why really. There are a bunch of members in Indiana, and they seem to have them. I know there are a few members here in Cincinnati and the surrounding areas. May be we can work on this in the near future. Yama Mama

Enjoy every second of the visit. Our granddaughter has made my cloudy days sunny, and my burden a little less difficult to bare. We can compare photos when we see each other again. Yama (Hog) Mama -
Joopie, what a wonderful photo. I love moose. I have never been close up to one. This is an amazing photographic moment. :big-grin-emoticon:Yama Mama

Here I have gone to the Smokies and Yellowstone to see a real bear, and all I had to do was ride to West Virginia. Who would have guessed. I hope the little guy does well. Yama Mama:301:

Dan I love the fact you really enjoyed me spilling my beer on your tent. I have planned to draw a bullseye on the other side of the tent this year. Please have Shari prepared to tell some of her stories for me. I am still laughing from last year. May be we will ride up with the tent all ready together. Sure there will be some wind resistance, but we can park the bike and take a quick nap. Yama Mama

Thank you Ron. I know we will not be leaving on Friday morning, it will be later for sure now do to the work issue. I hope you find someone to ride with. Yama Mama

I really appreciate all your concern, I truly do. I think I will talk to my boss and see if I can get off work about mid day. Then I think we could get to Don's on Friday. I am just upset because we are forced to make changes in our plans I guess. I will get over it. Yama Mama

Thank you Dennis. I am going to try something I have never done before. I am going to be honest and forth right and tell them I am having surgery that day. I will see what happens. Yama Mama:innocent-emoticon:

Well I am feeling tremendous pressure here folks. I have to talk to my boss, and see if I can work a half day somehow. Then we could leave around 1:00PM. I do not get off work until 4PM. I cannot not come in, because they will make me make it up somehow. Dern this is a real problem. Yama Mama

It doesn't work that way in a school district. I have to work on some plan, do not know yet how to do it, if I can at all. But it is making me sick. Yama Mama

Due to all the snow and ACTS OF NATURE we had in my town, our school system will be open on June 5th, the day that we planned to leave for Freebirds. I do not know what we will be able to do now. I guess we have to leave really early on Saturday. Do not like riding in the dark on those early morning expressway trips. We will figure out something. Yama Mama:big-grin-emoticon:

I am not being nosey! Just wondered where every one is planning on riding to this summer. I know where I want to travel; I am never sure if it will happen or not. I want to go the Smokies again, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and probably down in Kentucky to take some of the distillery tours. I also would love to go to some Blue Grass Festivals. Of course, to Freebird's MD. Yama Mama

Name of Restaurant: Big Art's BBQ Street Address: 2796 Struble Rd. City: Cincinnati State/Province: OH Website (Optional): - Quality of Food: Fantastic Quality of Service: Fantastic Biker Friendly? Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) BBQ Alcohol Served? Yes Additional Comments: Small restaurant, but worth the stop. They make their own BBQ sauce which is excellent. The BBQ is cooked over a real hickory wood fire pit. The prices are fair. The atmosphere is simple. Big Art has won the taste of Colerain several times. I highly recommend it.
