2009 RSV Top Heavy Question
Hummingbird replied to DonWood's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
My best advise would be to tell you to ride a 1500 or 1800 GoldWing, then be thankful you own a Venture !! Over the years I have owned 7 different wings starting with a new 1980 and the last one was a 1998. All of them (TO ME ) are more top heavy than my 2007 RSV. I am NOT bashing Wings, I'm merely saying how my wings felt to me compared to my Venture. btw - I'm 5'9" with a 30" inseam -
There is a plug that is used on autos that is installed from the inside of the tire. There is a actual plug that fills the hole and also a patch that covers the hole. This is a one piece unit, I've used it several times on cars but not on a bike, haven't had to yet.

What Pipes For A 2000 RSV?
Hummingbird replied to Donnie1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I put Harley Road King mufflers on my 2007 RSV. Not noisy but just enough rumble to be noticed. Plus the boss doesn't mind them. There are ways to open them up more and you'll find that info here if you search road king mufflers Good Luck with your search. BTW - you'll want to look around this site and gather info - lotta good stuff here -
Headlamp modulator-has this happened to you?
Hummingbird replied to BigBoyinMS's topic in Watering Hole
This debate will go on LONG after we have all rode our last ride, sold or given our bikes away and no longer have the energy to voice an opinion. The good thing about it is that we are able to debate it and still be on friendly terms with each other I would never disassociate myself with someone that uses a modulator, just make sure they were weren't in my mirror. -

Like many of you, I have on more than one occasion been riding and found myself daydreaming or gawking around. There is a point in everybody's ride that they forget how fragile a situation they are in. As a rider out there with NO protection afforded us other than OUR OWN due diligence, is it not our responsibility to PAY ATTENTION to the surroundings and act accordingly ?? When we rely on our helmet, modulator, leather boots and Joe Rocket padded outer wear to protect us then perhaps we are doomed to an incident. -
Do you really think that a group of 150 or so could stand still long enough for a picture ? I'll take some pics as I can but unsure about a group pic. be happy to email them to you.

Like any tool, used properly, it can help you do a better job. That might be the most sensible thing said so far, not counting my post of course:innocent-emoticon: BEER30 also said something that has MORE truth to it than most here realize " WHEN YOUR NUMBER IS UP - IT'S UP" and there's not a thing we can do about it:2cents: -

One BIG problem I have with modulators is that a flashing headlight is and has been the signal that the vehicle flashing their light is relinquishing the right of way to the vehicle in front of it. So - just as many times that you think you are safe because of a modulating headlight, you could be telling an old trucker to go ahead and turn/pull out in front of you. just my -
THAT is ONE GOOD looking car !!

All you have to do is have a modulated headlight in your rear view mirror for a couple hours and you'll never ride with that bike again. Anybody that thinks it humorous that cars pull over because of an approaching modulated headlight is apparently NOT as courteous as they expect others to be to them. What ever happened to a persons left thumb and the ability flash the high beam ?? Don't have time to do that ?? Slow down. Perhaps you've noticed by now that I'm TOTALLY against headlight modulators but then everybody has an opinion and you're just as right to run them as I'm right to object to them. Doesn't make either one of us bad guys -
OK _ I finally went out and looked at the bike I couldn't figure out how they mounted til now. Yes I want a set - thank you beddy much

Since our tax dollars that we haven't paid yet are being used to bail out the big 3 auto makers and obama? has already said that the gov is going to own 60% of GM, shouldn't some of us heavy tax payers be entitled to a COMPANY car ?? If so - I opt for a 2009 Silverado Z71

All of the guys I know either ride a wing or a hardley - I just thought that it was common knowledge that there are only 2 motorcycles out there - GoldWings and Harleys, everything else is just one of those OTHER bikes. Well, I gotta tell you - my first street bike was a Wing and there were 6 more to follow that. Not because I especially liked them but because that's who I rode with. After I quit riding and sold my last bike I happened upon a long time friend that I hadn't seen for quite a while. He rides an RSTD, my wife got better, I started buying bikes again. I ended up with a 2007 Venture and my wife as well as me agree that our Venture rides better than any of the wings we had. The last wing was a 1998 1500. I do find in my area that MOST everybody I meet on the highway or even the county roads we ride are friendly and do wave.

To re-route the audio cable, is there enough cable or do you have to extend it ?? -
Although I appreciate somebody's talent, patience and expertise in their endeavor:clap2:, I find it to be a total waste of good RIDING time.

I did just that and got more reading than I have time for ? I am seriously interested in a weight loss program but all of them involve NOT eating most everything I enjoy. I lost 12 lbs while in and recuperating from surgery but I feel sure it will come back in a hurry. I just can't give up an ice cream cone while on a ride and we both enjoy eating out - my loss but I don't mean weight :bang head:

If you come down this way again and want to see some of Carroll County's 'back' paved roads, give me a shout. I wouldn't doubt you've seen some already but I can get you to the marina starting in Canton that'll be TOTALLY enjoyable. rbyrd5@neo.rr.com
