Don - did you understand that I wanted 2 of them ?? One for my Venture and one for my buddies RSTD Dick
-
I'm not near the bike, actually 8 miles away, I need to what size tire goes on it. Gunboat has a couple for sale, hopefully the size is right. It's a 1998 Tour Deluxe
-
Thanks Don - just let me know, I'll pay however you want Dick
-
gunboat - I'll take one - not sure how far it is from Houston to Malvern, Ohio I wonder, does the 1998 RESTD take the same size ? If so, might take 2 of them - ooooops - just looked - 1400 miles to Malvern

It's not ebay that dictates how to pay - the seller has the option of his method, check, money order, etc. It's just that PayPal is 'secure'. I had an incident a while back with a larger seller (a lot of feedback) - the item was not as described, didn't work and in general was not a satisfactory purchase. I filed a complaint and within a short amount of time I got my money back. The vendor didn't respond to my queries and Ebay (PayPal) took care of it. I'm really a big fan of PayPal as a buyer and as a seller. Sure it costs coming AND going but except for my carb sync @ MD nothing is free anymore. BTW - thanks for the carb sync

I have a 2007 Midnight Venture - it doesn't have the studs on the seats. was just looking at the title and it says it's a model ZTF - model description XVZ13TF The speedo says Midnight Venture byw - on 9/03/08 I paid $11,000.00 for it and it had 14,316 miles

Just curious about mixing a radial ct on the rear and a bias ply on the front. I remember stories about how dangerous that was on a CAR - what about our bike ?

when you don't live in a metropolis area, I guess you have to take whatever the vendors stock. I'm not complaining because we love this small town atmosphere but we do get the hind teat occasionally. Back to the missing metric ss bolt - Ace, lowes nor a fleet supplier had the right bolt. I TOTALLY forgot about Zeigler Bolts. They are a wholesale only outlet, however --- One short call later and Lisa said we have them in stock - 'how many do you want?' I was ashamed to admit I only needed 1 so I blurted out 4 in anticipation of a hang up. She OK - tell them at the counter Lisa said they are a quarter each. Darned near dropped the phone. Today I combined the trip to Zeiglers with a trip to Menards in the bid city, hooked up my GPS and headed out:smile5: Point is - Hopefully you have a Zeiglers near enough to you to use their expansive inventory

I recently bought a Rampage Power Lift for my truck so that I could take my Venture out to the Grand Canyon this summer. We intend to take our travel trailer and camp our way West but we also want to ride the bike. So I'm not trailering the bike but might as well be. 3 years ago we bought a QuickCamp trailer and took it to the Grand Canyon in Pennsylvania, had a beautiful 10 day camping trip. As soon as we got home I sold the QuickCamp, no microwave, no flush toilet, no air conditioner, no TV, no lotsa things that we ENJOY when we camp:clap2: we had the travel trailer then also but just had to try the QuickCamp - spoiled, whimpy, whatever ----

Would you spend $1.88 to save your life?

Those convex mirrors drive me crazy. I've tried them on cars and semi's - just don't like them. -

Found a couple bolts at TSC - Wife & I met DIL at Wendys in Ravenna Oh. for GC transfer. We will have gs for several days. Across the street from Wendys was a TSC so I tried it They had the right size bolt but not ss. I bought 2 of them ( $2.11 ) and just now put them in. I kept the good ss bolt so when I find an ACE hardware I can match it up. THANKS guys - as usual you guys are always here to help.

I got an update for my 2620 and they sent me a disc - put in the puter and away we went. I was probably 3 or 4 hours, I don't remember but I did use my laptop so it wasn't much of a problem.

reckon they'll have stainless???

Leave it up to me..... After the thread the other day about loose bolts I put my '07' up on the stand and started cleaning and tightening. When I got around to the front fender left side front I find nothing but a hole and a few scratch marks where the fender has been bouncing. If anybody has a bolt - I'd be more than happy to buy it 'cause I'm sure the local dealer will have to order it and that'll mean a 2 or 3 week interval and a lot more scratches

Rear brake/running lights
Hummingbird replied to LtShame's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
YES - the light doesn't interfere at all - it mounts right inside the helmet locks. I put one on my Venture a few weeks ago. It really is a plug and play !!- 8 replies

Inexpensive Rear Spoiler with Build In LED lights
Hummingbird replied to Obber's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
I bought one of those spoilers a couple weeks ago, it's still laying on the bench. I just can't bring myself to start drilling on the tour box. I did notice on the one I got that when they 'ground' the bottom flat they took too much off and the red portion is loose from the black. If I mount it, I'll probably have to seal it up with a little silicon. I did get instructions with mine - Green/Yellow wire - 12v (+) Solid brake lights Brown - 12v (+) Optional Flashing Brake Lights Green - Ground (-) I tested it by touching the wires to a battery - looks pretty good. I like the flashing option- 31 replies

First - I AM NOT a mechanic. Second - It took me about an hour to locate, remove and extend the filter. It now lays horizontal under the seat. a Short length of copper and 2 extra clamps that I had in one of the bins. Third- the hardest part was getting stuff out of the way. I was wiling to bet that the center cover WAS NOT going back in place but I managed to do it. Also the 2 chrome allen head bolts on the center cover are for SHOW only, don't bother to loosen them. I got lucky and the nut for one of them fell thru to the floor. Fourth - don't forget to turn the petcock OFF. (don't ask me why)

if it's alphabetical - maybe I'm at the bottom starting over
