I certainly appreciate your input because I AM NOT a mechanic - I'm pushing the envelope to change the oil which should probably happen pretty soon. Checking the plugs will come lastly as I understand nealy everything above them has to be removed just to look at them. But when/if that happens, I will most likely replace them - needed or not

Dan, I see seven numbers up by your avatar - a random guess would be that there are that many bikes sitting around somewhere with your name on them. I totally believe that anybody that has the most toys wins but when I want something I find a way to dispose of inventory and buy whatever I happen to want at the time. There are only 2 things sacred to me, my wife and my wood shop, EVERYTHING else has a price on it should somebody decide they want it more than I do. To sum up, there IS a way for you to have a Hannigan, just how bad do you want it and what are you willing to give up to get it. Didn't mean to sound harsh but life is way too short to not have what you really want. Good Luck selling 2 or 3 or whatever it takes

Thanks puc - yes it does have reverse and boy does it work. If you are familiar with the reverse on the Honda reverse, speed that up about 10 or 15 times ! Hannigan installed what appears to be an automatic transmission flywheel and a starter. Hit the switch and HANG on ! It launches backward really quickly and fast and noisy but in the end I'm glad it's there because my feet just barely make it outside the weight bearing floor boards if I want to push back. The bike has a slight miss in it but it looks like seafoam is working. I'm not concerned about it because the bike only has 6000 miles on it and being a 2009, it had to have sat around for a while.

Dan, I'm REALLY sorry to hear that. I haven't been around as long as most on here but I'm sure you and the boss were in cahoots when this forum was born. If your riding is over (hope not) then at least hang around so us dummys can still learn from your expertise.

After selling my 2007 Midnight Venture several years ago I bought 2 Honda Level 4 Trikes. One was a 2007 Honda GL1800 w/Champion SA kit and only 3000 miles on it. We rode it for a few weeks and found a 2008 GL1800 w/MotorTrike kit and IRS, BIG difference. We rode the MotorTrike for about 700 miles and it still only had just less than 4000 miles on the odometer. sold the Champion - I could never get comfortable on either one of them for more than an hour or so and just quit riding. I eventually found someone that wanted the MotorTrike more than I did so it was gone. I kept looking and watching and when the 2009 Venture w/Hannigan kit came available I destroyed 2 computer keyboards from slobbering on them while I lusted for the Hannigan. I finally contacted the owner and we made a tentative deal so on Friday, August 7th, wife and I went for a ride to inspect it and do a test ride. It only took 2 miles to make up my mind so I paid for the the po for his bike which then became mine. Put a plate on it and headed home, nearly 300 miles and too many semi trucks later we arrived home. I can't think of anything needed to make this bike complete (mine) so perhaps we'll get to enjoy some miles yet this year. and as per law attached are a few pictures of my new to me Venture with Hannigan trike kit. (and the po's custom paint from Hannigan, Candy red and metallic Black)

no I sold both of the Wing trikes and bought a bass boat and was watching this Venture - we finally got together and I drove it home (300 miles) Konw anybody looking for a nice Bass Boat ?

Thanks Bob I've been running some seafoam in it today, about half a can to half a tank of gas. Took it out and ran it fairly hard for a few miles and it might be my imagination but I think some of the miss is going away. My neighbor down the street is a jet ski mechanic and he said to run injector cleaner thu it. He said it does a better job of cleaning than seafoam. I'll try it when I get the current tank ran out. I'm still kicking myself for selling my 2007 Venture but I'm happy now that I've got another one and with a HANNIGAN on it.

I bought a 2009 RSV w/Hannigan kit yesterday knowing it had a miss. I can hear and feel it when accelerating and I was hopeing it would clear up on the 220 mile ride getting home. The bike only has 7000 miles on it, starts immediately but has that miss and Im sure it is because of lack of use. I'm gonna try seafoam today but if that doesn't work I guess I'll have to replace the wires and plugs. Is there an outlet other than dealers for GOOD wires for the RSV 1300 ? and will I need to go to tech school to change them out without screwing them up ? thanks

I don't know how to get on facebook and probably never will so thanks for letting us non folks know about your incident. Happy to hear all of you are OK and hopefully your state of mind will return to normal soon enough. (did I really say normal ? )

I've seen several of new and newer TriGlides out there for sale, I'll bet you can find one that fits your budget. But I'll also bet the Hannigan on a Venture will ride better.

Oh my golly, I'm in Vancouver B.C. on our last leg of our Alaska vacation. I haven't been able to keep up with the St. Jude auction and just saw the results. I want to thank all of you for your support of St. Jude's and thank you for your most generous bids for my wood products. Patti, as apprensive as you may be, you are doing what many of us wish we would/could do. It is a MAJOR change and I applaud you and Don for having the courage to do it. Linda and I talked about it breifly once or twice but it was my decision to NOT do it. I just couldn't bear to part with my wood working tools and the smell of saw dust. So in lieu of full time, we take a few weeks a year and pull our travel trailer and camp somewhere. I really envy your decusion but have to admit that I'm WAY too whimpy to try it. GOOD ON YOU BOTH !!

If it is proved that he was in your lane and caused an incident, he will most likely be fired from his job. Hi Mike, I can't speak for Lewis but the glasses in the pictures were for demonstration and are not part of the auction. I did not supply them when I sent the items to Lewis. If you look at the shipping fee, you can see that it doesn't even cover the cost of item. Packing glassware in a suitable manner to prevent breakage would at minimum triple the shipping cost. I'm sure Lewis will chime in with a more definitive answer.

This is just a shameless BUMP to bring attention to the St. Judes Auction. I'll be in Anchorage when the auction ends so I won't be able to spur you guys (and gals) on but I want to say how much the bidding means to me.
