I don't see anything wrong with the way it is set up now. I check the classifieds every other day or so just to see if something has been added.

My Sears lift has worked great so far - the only issue is that the rubber pads on the lift are too thick and I have to pull the bike up straight to get it under with the lift adapter on the bike. I took them off and cut a tire inner tube to fit the lift - works Ok that way. Actually it works OK without the rubber on the lift. I can't imagine any slipping unless there is oil or grease on the adapter or lift.

I recently got a Carbon One lift adapter ( love it ) and was wandering which lift was the most popular and why. I have a Sears lift that I bought a LONG time ago. I think I paid around $50 for it and it has served me very well. I initially purchased the lift for my GoldWing trike, worked well.

How many LED's
Hummingbird replied to Hummingbird's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The led's I was looking at were rated at 15,000 mcd - it looks as if I could install more than I can afford to buy and still be OK (amperage wise) THANKS -
Can anyone tell me how many led's my 2007 RSV will support without putting my charging system in overload ?? I have fears of taxing the stater and causing a burn-out. At present I have replaced both front and rear reflectors with led's but I want to add a strip or two with about 70 to 100 led's.

I beg to differ - I have found Garmin support to be GREAT ! I've had 2 incidents that made me call support and both times they were happy to help. Neither time did anyone ask when or where I bought my unit.

If you're unhappy with the paint scheme as it is ( and you must be or you wouldn't have brought it up) you have 2 options. Option one is to sell it and get what you want. Option 2 is take all the parts off and have them painted to your liking. If you are concerned about losing any value by painting, replace the bike. If yo intend to keep it and enjoy, paint it. I have a 2007 Midnight Venture, didn't like it all black so I changed it. If I lost value because of painting it, I REALLY don't care. When it's time to sell it, it will at that time be ONE of a kind because of the paint job. There will be somebody that will fall in love with it because it is different. If not, again - who cares ?

Thanks for the wake up call brother --

I don't understand - the one time he got caught driving drunk turned out to be a tragic incident and because he builds bikes, it's OK that he killed someone while crossing a double yellow line Would it be different if he were not a celebrity ? I believe it would be.

an unfortunate incident indeed - had you stopped and approached the owner it may have become more of an incident. The owner had to know the dog was a chaser and still let him run loose, too bad.

Transformer - utility trailer to M/C trailer - pics
Hummingbird replied to massey130's topic in Watering Hole
I put the canyon dancer handle bar holder in place I tried to tie my 2007 RSV by the handle bars but found they are mounted in rubber. I didn't think that was a good idea, too much flex so I used soft ties around the triple tree. I just thought that all RSV bars were rubber mounted. Trailer looks good - you might want to keep all 3 ramps just to get the bike off the trailer, I would. -

I too was in a quandary about going to the dark side but I did bite the bullet and move. It works JUST FINE for me @ 35# but I think I'll go to 40# just to see the difference. Probably end up somewhere in between. When it's time to replace the Dunlop on front I'll go all the way and put an Avon RADIAL on. Don't know how that'll feel on the Venture but Michelin radials on my 1500 GoldWing were the cats meow. -
I have J&M in my half helmet and J&M in wife's full helmet. We communicate thru the intercom, music plays, CB comes thru so they work but different people have different expectations - don't remember how much they cost as I didn't use that criteria for purchase.

check the ground (negative) cable at the battery - sounds like a loose or corroded connection. just a guess, I'm not much of a mechanic -

Need new exhaust system
Hummingbird replied to Art C's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
believe it or not but the Road King muffs are really quiet as a stock muffler - you can usually get a set for $50 or so -
If this doesn't come up right -- look at photo # 133 pretty much says it all http://cantonrep.mycapture.com/mycapture/enlarge.asp?image=25012319&event=812041&CategoryID=31076

Nice Trike - Too bad it's RED and too bad I'm not ready. I had a Goldwing trike with a MotorTrike kit and loved it. However, I've found that my total knee replacement has allowed me to get back on 2 wheels again.

Where do you tie down the rear of the Venture.
Hummingbird replied to 1sttenor's topic in Trailer Talk
I use the crash bars on the rear HOWEVER - on the front I don't tie to the handle bar because it's rubber mounted, I put soft ties over the triple tree and around the fork tube. jmho -
Once a title has been registered as a SALVAGE title it cannot be changed back. Car dealers will not take a SALVAGE titled vehicle on trade and a lot of banks will not loan on a SALVAGE title unless your credit is such that you're above question.

depending on the damage - it may not be worth the $6650 but if I didn't have an '07' I sure would look at it.
