  1. BEAUTIFUL - just beautiful. I've got a hundred bucks that says those pictures don't do it justice tho - I know you'll post pics when you get it back together.:clap2: to your painter !!
  2. Very NICE - Congrats, a brick ranch means LOW maintenance, that equals MORE riding ! beautiful home !!
  3. Yamaha Venture
  4. Actually there is a set like that. Mine have 4 different 'modes' activated with a mini button on the top of them. I have behind the ear style and they are normally set on the second position. I have to set them on the 4th position when I ride or the wind noise is too aggravating. It took me years of saying HUH & what till I finally got a set. btw - 4th position is nearly off, shuts out all the unwanted chatter
  5. 10 years ago MAYBE - he might as well build a shed to keep it in.
  6. The Wing is a GREAT machine but Wait till you have to change the air filter. I don't think I could go back to a Wing after having a Venture and doing service work on it. I do repeat - the Wing is a GREAT bike !
  7. You actually only need 2 wires. If you take the Positive and negative off the battery (use a #10 wire) you can share them both after you get to the fairing. Just be sure to fuse each one before connecting to the accessory.
  8. OK - I checked with my Uncle Sam and he said any day you pick would be OK.
  9. That discomfort is really a shame - I am in the opposite group. My GoldWing was a pain in the butt whereas I find my Venture a pleasure to ride ( in all aspects) The first thing I would do is call Mr. Butler and explain you dilemma to him. I would hope he can take care of your problem. For the price it certainly is worth a try.
  10. OK - I know this is supposed to be fictional, However since I have no imagination at all and it would be impossible make up something to surpass the gifted individuals already here, not to mention the ones to follow, I guess I'll just have to tell it like it is. In september of '08' I bought a very fine looking Midnight Venture from a gentleman in Virginia. Since I bought it I have put on passing lights and had it painted a two tone with money I pilfered from passersby on the interstate exit ramps. On a very lucrative afternoon of 'begging' I managed to gather enough to buy some multi colored LED's and get them installed also. There was some money left from that and I used it to replace the side reflectors on the Venture. Now, having said all of that, it must be said that I am totally mechanically challenged and was able to sucker a couple neighbors into installing the above mentioned accessories. As much as I would enjoy having a set of gauges on my Venture, I fear I have run out of suckers, err, neighbors to install them. Not only that but someone has the gall to offer a USED set of gauges that aren't even complete. I know this little essay will most likely win any competition for the above mentioned gauges but I would have to decline accepting them because it is NOT a COMPLETE set. Now if the host and benefactor would reconsider and make sure that ALL parts and pieces are included then I MAY reconsider and accept the set as a token of their appreciation for me taking the time to type this and hit the submit button. Moving the curser all the way to the (submit area) is quite an effort that I not accustomed to but thanks for reading. btw - when the gauges are delivered please make prior arrangements to have them installed as quickly as possible. Thanks again -
  11. I've got a set of Road Kings that are in the shed just waiting for a new owner - straight cut rbyrd5@neo.rr.com
  12. Yes I do - is there something in there I need to click ??
  13. I thought I had to have a trike 6 or so years ago and did have 2 GoldWing trikes. I enjoyed them but never fell in love with them. I had my total knee replacement last March 3rd and the previous September I bought my '07' Venture. I had forgotten how much fun the twisties are on two wheels and am really glad I got the Venture. If I should have a setback of some kind and have to go to a trike, I know now what I would prefer in a trike. Don't let anybody tell you they're all the same, 'cause they're NOT
  14. I've had a heel /toe shifter on my last 4 bikes. 3 of them were GoldWings, had them so long I'd have to learn to shift all over without it. I started with the heel/toe shifter because I wanted floorboards, can't stand the pegs.
  15. That's $11,112.47 US at todays rate. Seems a little steep ? I bought my '07' last September equipped with XM radio, Garmin 550 and a radar detector for $11,500.00. The Sheriff hasn't shown up yet so I guess it wasn't a stolen bike - except on my part
  16. waterbug - I've been trying to pm you - can't tell if you get them or not. send me a phone # or email rbyrd5@neo.rr.com
  17. never had a broken bone but I understand broken ribs are at the top of the list for pain. Good to hear you're healing OK - and back to riding
  18. that was evidently a very well orchestrated collaboration :clap2: - How long did it take to get it all done ? and is that crew coming to Ohio any time soon ? The gauges look great and gunboat - you're gonna love that Kumho !!
  19. It's already been said - A midnight is hard to beat BUT An altered Midnight is even nicer
  20. I listed an Eclipse Vest and Chaps in the riding apparel section. The chaps have never been used and one controller is included. These item's are from a friend that has quit cold weather riding.
  21. overdraft ?? it's strange that this would come up right now. Yesterday I got a notice from my bank ( been with them for 30 years) that because I was a first time overdraft customer that I had 3 days to deposit a sufficient amount to cover the overdraft. Looking at the figures in the indexed outline I saw that I was over drawn by $6,184.40 Didn't take me to long to become FRANTIC ! I called the bank and the person I was supposed to talk to wasn't in. After a short conversation the person on the phone recognized my anxiety as well as recognizing me. (nice thing about small towns and small banks) Anyway she looked at my account and found where the overdraft came from. I had paid a bill from the local lumber yard for $26 and change but when it went to the data bank for keypunch somebody, somehow, put in $8000.00 as the debit. Well - I usually keep a couple thousand in the checking and that 8 grand put me in over draft - fortunately for me it was fixed almost immediately with the phone call and there was NO SERVICE CHARGE. It's been a long time since I experienced such an anxiety rush - not fun.
  22. A community with 174 residents and 7 police officers ? That's 1 officer per every 25 citizens, how could you not feel safe ??
  23. I've been waiting for someone to put a Cobra on to match up with their Kumho. I mounted my Kumho several weeks ago and love it but still have a Dunlop on the front. I had Michelin radials on one of my GoldWings and the handling was phenomenal. I was sure the Venture would act as the wing did with radials front and rear. Thanks for posting --
  24. Good Luck in however you go BUT have you thought about a 2nd gen ? They are faster you know
  25. Well, it's hump day and for those of you that have to 'work' that has a significant meaning, to us that just can't sleep, all it means is another day to ride or just do nothing and wait for Uncle Sam to send another check
