A silly question
Hummingbird replied to starkruzen's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I had a 2007 Black over Black but decided it would look better if it were Black over Dupont Spectramaster YM516 as the picture shows. yeah it's paid for too -
I'm with DragonRider on this - I bought a Sears RV lift several years ago and used it on my GoldWing Trike. Worked great for the trike and now it works just as good with my Venture. got it on sale for $49 with my Craftsman club discount.

I agree 100% - I've had 7 goldwings, all of them 1500's and 2 were trikes. None of them had the comfort level of our 2007 Venture and none of them were as easy to work on. My son has a 2005 Black Cherry 1800 and it's fast and for him comfortable. here's the '98' trike at Weeki Wachee

Hummingbird replied to starkruzen's topic in Watering Hole
I bought my used 2007 Midnight Venture in August 2008. There was 11500 miles on it and at present has 16,788 miles -

I'm pretty sure my wife won't let me go there alone. I've wanted to build a radio controlled plane or helicopter for years.

Hey - I resemble that remark

Those darn bees can be a real problem. I do store the mower, blower and generators in my 12 X 20 shed but in the fall when they start their influx into every cavity they can find I use all the Hornet and Wasp spray necessary to obliterate any signs of life. I guess my problem is the fuel line but nobody has one as small as I need. I may have to find the manual and get a part # - again

OK guys - here's stupid at it's best. I have several good led flashlights that make a really nice white light. Since I'm not really a mechanic I decided to carefully look around the carb and fuel system in general. While looking I did have to move the fuel line slightly to get a better look. Guess what broke in 2 places ? Now all I have to do is find a fuel line that's small enough OD to go thru the tank inlet yet big enough ID to go over the carb nipple and the fuel filter. Evidently the line was brittle and had a crack or two and was sucking air instead of fuel.

I have a 2 cycle leaf blower that I haven't run in 2 years - it starts just fine but wants to shut down after a few minutes - perhaps Carb cleaner ?? it has fresh gas mixture with some of the OLD gas. screwed up didn't I ??

Yeah - I know the blue lights are a no-no while running down the road but the solid red and green won't have any problem. The neat thing is that there are 15 different functions and color combinations - they're not all illegal. I did have a state highway patrolman watch me whizz by the other night but I think he was too interested in speeders. At the time I had the lights in flash mode with all the colors cycling.

After installing the passing lamps on my Venture I decided I wanted some led's as well. I found some really neat ones from Joe Florida. http://ledaccentlights.net/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=36 They might be slightly more pricey than some but it seems the quality and the lifetime warranty made up my mind. Also, I got almost immediate answers to my questions thru emails. I don't know how to do a utube video so I'll just post a few pics of the basic 3 colors. The leds are remote controlled from up to 150' and have 15 different functions like strobe, multi color flash etc. some of which are probably TOTALLY illegal while running down the road.

Well - I may be in Jackson MS on Thursday - won't have time for much, going to fly in, inventory, take pics and fly home. Should be a one day thing ---

Ontario Canada Monday around noon ( in a cage ) - anybody nearby wanna have lunch ??

I guess I'd fall into the lightweight area - on a BIG year I still only get around 5000 miles

I'm guessing you left out a zero with regard to the electrical service. I can understand it, I'd be excited to have a nice work area also.

We mounted a Kumho for first-n-last on his 'new' Venture last week and he took off for Richmond Va. When he left ( 1 up ) he found that the 40 lbs was too much in curves, dropped it down some and had a wonderful 500 mile trip home

My Journey to get a Venture (adVenture?)
Hummingbird replied to First_N_Last's topic in Watering Hole
John B - I know you made it home Ok 'cause you called me. Thanks for the kind words but I was just doing what anybody would do for a 'newbie' - It was especially enjoyable for me just watching that big grin on your face as you looked at and worked on your new bike. I know you will enjoy your 'new' Venture. Adventure 1943
