Linda and I will be there - -
I'm not an expert on GPS's but waterproof would be the first thing to look at. The 765t doesn't say anything about that however, as I read the board , I've noticed a lot of guys have units other than motorcycle specific 550's & 650's. You will still have to get a mount for the bike, maybe a second power cord - and while you're at the GPS Store, look at their 3 year warranty and even the lifetime update card. oooops - now we're up to over $400, might want to consider a 550 since it already has all that stuff

Help installing RK pipes this week
Hummingbird replied to captpfd's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I looked at your profile and it says you have a 1998 RS Tour Bagger - not sure what that is but if you happen to have a Tour Deluxe, you will have to cut the pipes. I guess the simple way to figure it out is to place you new RK's where you want them to be and cut your old muffs off leaving enough pipe to slide inside the RK's. And you don't have to make a bracket - go to Lowes and get a one hole EMT pipe clamp. Get the one with a rubber insert and make it 1 1/4" size. Then get 2 stainless bolts no more than 3/4" long( might have to be 1/2") because they bottom out into the muff and won't tighten if too long. Shouldn't cost you much more than a couple bucks. Open the clamps and put them around the frame just above the threaded receptical in the muffs - you'll see what you need to do then -
waddaya mean - no cassette ? How you gonna listen to your tunes ? oh - GREAT lookin bike - that front rim is dyamite

I seen a pretty neat air pad last weekend in Thunder Alley. It was maybe 12" long and 8" wide, had individual little air pockets. I forget what it was called but it felt real comfy.

whichever way you decide, it will be your decision. You have a lot of people to factor into that decision and don't forget your own self worth. You can't always please everybody but you must please yourself to one degree or another. Good luck with your healing process, mentally and physically.

Ok - I guess my radio control is OK after all. My confusion it seems is that I didn't have a clue that there were 2 volume controls. Sure would have been nice to have that information for the trip over to RT and back. Thanks for your help Dick aka - adventure 1943

OK - perhaps you showed me the way. First, I didn't know there were separate volume controls, second, I think my radio control lcd is not right. (broken ?) see the pics - one is the cb on ch 2 and the other is the volume level - is this what it's supposed to look like ??

That sounds like what I need to do - if you think you're confused, wish you were here lol I'm going to try it now - see what happens

I'm having a dickens of a time getting audio thru my headsets. When I play XM radio thru the speakers they will draw police attention because it can be loud. As soon as I switch to the headsets the volume drops to less than half. When using the headsets with the CB on and the XM on, I have to have the XM volume so loud it almost causes ringing in my ears just so that I get a faint CB reception. I know there is an answer - I just can't seem to find it. HELP !! btw - I have a Garmin 450

It has already been said - get a 1st gen - then get 4 or 5 more for parts donors :rotfl:

I'm packed and ready to go as well. The difference is that I'm going to DC for the weekend. This will be my first trip to the wall, I can hardly wait.

They ( Kumho's ) can be a little contrary when it comes to getting them to seat. First_N_last and I was nearly an hour getting his to seat. We just kept at it with dawn dish soap and lottsa air pressure. My air compressor pressure switch is set at 160lbs and I would let it build up and shut off before I started airing the tire. Several times it ALMOST went and we would break it down, re-lube and start over. When we noticed it was seating at different locations we decide it was going to go so just put the air to it. Patience and perseverance will prevail and you will be happy with the result.
