No problem - happy to be able to help. Jaybird surprised me, he finished a job nearby and dropped by the house - case closed.

Help Please ! This has probably been discussed but I couldn't find it. I'm looking for an air temperature gauge for the bike. I remember a long time ago someone had a neat little digital that was fairly inexpensive. Thanks -

I have to admit that I distinctly remember 2 major "STUPIDS" that I committed, both of which I am too ashamed to admit and haven't spoken about them in 50 years or so. the movie dumb and dumber but in real life comes to mind. As I mentioned earlier, in both cases 'but for the grace of God, I would not be here'

Freebird -you're right as usual, I can remember my youth and for the grace of God I am typing this now. Perhaps I was too quick with the keyboard

Myself and another rider went over to Stoystown Pa to the memorial for the second time on the 17th. of August. The first time we were there it was QUITE impressive with all the memorabilia that folks had left. There were marble monuments, plaques and a multitude of out of pocket remembrances that people had left as their own show of respect for the heros on that plane. This time, they had moved the temporary memorial to a site over looking the crash site. We were still 1/4 mile or more away from the actual impact site and could see the construction equipment down below readying the area for the "plaza" being built. I was totally disappointed this time as they did not move ANY of the memorabilia to the new site. I talked to the ranger on site and she was vague about future plans for the trinkets and other items that had been left at the first site. There will be a dedication of the plaza on September 11, 2011. I haven't read anything about it yet in the media but I think it will be quite an event attended by many - There aren't any hotels/motels in the immediate area but 10 miles down the road in Somerset are several. Here's a link for the internet site http://www.nps.gov/flni

there's a bank repo auction not far from me and nearly everything sells for about 2/3 of retail or lessor less I've bought several cars and trucks for resale and every one was in horrible mechanical shape, still made money, but something to think about. A bike with few miles on it can't be in too bad condition tho ---

I've got a twin cylinder 5 hp 220v - just a home unit

I was trying to get rid of that pesky wine - turned out my hearing aid was magnifying the sound.
-
That ain't no lie - the first joint on my thumb is pulled back to probably to 65 or 70 degrees off center and I can't do anything about it.

I changed the oil in my bike 3 times this year and only have 2500 miles - but I've got several years on my compressor and haven't changed the oil yet. I can't find an owners manual but the last time I talked to anybody about air compressor oil, I was told to use a non detergent oil because it didn't foam - is that still the way to go ?? btw it's a 220 volt 175 psI
-
It's a LOT better than I thought it would be. Still swollen quite a bit, nuckle forward is/always will be numb and I don't think I'll ever bend the first joint. Plus, I relatively sure that I'll have an out patient surgery to move that pesky nerve - it's really touchy and not getting any better. Oh yeah - it's a 2007, I type quicker than I read

Many of you have read about my unending oil changes with little to no change in the ugly wine that got worse as the bike heated up. On my ride to the Flight 93 Memorial (180 miles) I was NOT at all annoyed with the wine. On the way home the bike was hotter ( could tell with my temp. gauge) and it did get slightly louder. Before I left home on Tuesday I had a problem with my right behind the ear hearing aid, wouldn't work correctly so I left with the left one only. Now it must be said that my right ear is the better of the 2 but I'm not deaf without it. The wine had dissipated to hardly noticeable both ways - what I have found since is that the right ear 'pitch' with the aid in is magnifying the wine. Wish I had found this about 4 or 5 oil changes ago. Could have saved a couple hundred $$$$$$ So, from now on I'll just ride w/o the right ear aid - problem solved !!

I was on the pa turnpike yesterday and parts of it are 45 mph and 55 mph. On more then several occasions I deliberately got beside a car that was doing about 5 over and I took about 4 miles to overtake them. I ran just a little faster than the car did and when I would get 5 or 6 cars lined up behind me I'd go ahead and pass the car beside me. The whole ploy was to aggravate them and hopefully let them find the patrol units. Everybody knows that half of them are in unmarked cars with lights in the windows and not on top. Yeah, yeah I know - I'm bad, I'll go to my corner now
