  1. I wasn't there John, so I can't comment on your problem with the Kumho other than to say that your riding habits do not go well with the tire combination on your Venture. In reading some of the comments from you and others that have tried the CT on their Venture I would suggest replacing the Venture with a crotch rocket of some kind. They seem to be more suited for the type of riding that some are trying accomplish on a cruiser/touring bike. I still have the Kumho on my Venture, running 54lbs pressure and have no problems. Perhaps the big difference is the way I ride, I don't care if I get there before everybody else. I'm sure you will be happy with the Avon, especially when peace of mind comes into play
  2. hee hee hee point taken
  3. That looks really neat, nice lines BUT aren't you opening yourself to a lot of wind buffeting ?
  4. Don't really need to say anything
  5. Just finished feeding her and guess what ?? she's got eyeballs under those lids !!
  6. The first thing we did was call our vet, they said that at 2 days old we were doing as much if not more than they could do - - -
  7. That's just how this kitten got her name, she was left in our flower bed and we know the momma
  8. GEEEEEEZ - how could somebody dump a puppy ?? That's just not right. We adopted a chow/lab mix with a duaxhound (sp) daddy. Not sure how that was accomplished other than someone had to have been an acrobat. Anyway, we had him 18 years and had to put him to sleep, very sad day I swore "no more pets" but you know how wives are btw - if it turns out to be a female, (Little Orphan) Annie is her name. male ? maybe Andy
  9. to be - BUT when a day old kitten shows up in your flowers and climbs on top of a barrel and is screaming loud enough to get you attention, what are you supposed to do ?? Well, I picked it up, put it in a basket, put a lamp on it and fed it. The next day the mother showed up to be fed, we had been feeding her for a couple weeks 'cause she was obviously pregnant and I offered the kitten to her with food but she ate and left w/o the kitten. Now what ?? more feed every 3 to 4 hours, lamp to keep her warm, just assuming a female - too young to tell. Finally moved it into the house from the garage and continue feeding and etc. That was 9 days ago - had several opportunities to present kitten to the mother but she still rejects it. I guess we have a new house cat - hopefully our original cat will accept the kitten, she hasn't so far but maybe - - -
  10. We will do our annual trip to Florida. We go every year, usually in December and seldom take the bike. We used to drag the boat down and go fishing a couple days but found a neighbor that has one big enough we can go out into the Gulf. I think this year I'm going to take the bike (on the Rampage [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrR-yvHJnRc]YouTube - Rampage Lift Works Great for any BIG Bike or motorcycle in and out of your pick up truck[/ame] ) and ride a little bit.
  11. Helmet, turn signals, low running lights - probably more, just glanced at them
  12. several years ago I had ivy or oak (dunno which) on both of my arms so bad that the blisters were almost one. Of course it itched and I was using Calamine lotion to no avail. Instead of scratching I would just rub with the palm of my hand, busted the blisters, not because I wanted to but - it happens. Anyway, the fluids were dripping off my fingers as I walked and the itch was just about unbearable so my wife made me go to the hospital. We were out of town at the time and wasn't sure if my insurance would cover the er visit. To tell the truth, I really didn't care, I needed some relief. The er Dr. gave me a shot and prescription and within an hour the itching subsided and within a week you couldn't tell that that I had ivy.
  13. How about Mark Hillis ? He's a long time member and has several products not to mention a heck of a nice guy
  14. my point exactly - I guess there are too many that don't have to contend with ice, snow and sub zero temps.
  15. Well, I'll be headed to Florida early December and I'll be taking my Venture and I WON'T be using a trailer. heh heh - I use a Rampage lift
  16. forgot to add pics - these are 3 of the main colors. check out his videos -
  17. I got mine from http://ledaccentlights.net/store/ they're a little pricey but my Venture's worth it. I forget how many functions there are ( must be about 15 ) but they come with 2 remote fobs and are a true plug and play, self sticking tape and I put the receiver under the fairing.
  18. ouch !! I just got a price on one - $415 delivered. That's not really bad, it's just that I have a craftsman lift and Larry's adapter that work. I guess I'm just getting lazy, want something a little easier
  19. I wonder if it good on either side ?? I sure like the idea of not having to crawl around to put the adapter on but then this may need one as well ??
  20. It looks really interesting and stable but they allude to tie downs and adapters ?? http://liftsandstands.com/
  21. I'm relatively sure it belongs to this guy
  22. pretty neat concept BUT where's the fridge ? microwave ? shower ? flush toilet ? Here's how I do it -
  23. YEP - sure is flowers like the heat at night and evidently think it's daylight all the time. they grow like weeds
  24. Not ruffling my feathers at all...out here in California, if you run 65 on the freeway you will get run over by a semi-truck, then run over again by the SUV being driven by the split-tail talking on her cell phone while putting on her make-up! But even above that, we all have our "comfort" zones and mine is around 80 to 85 mph on the freeways. I guess I'm lucky - I have never driven in California, bike or car so my concept and yours have a totally different view. I guess I understand tho - I've been on I 95 in Georgia at 6AM and I think the speed limit is 65 - doesn't make any difference, whatever it is I usually run 3 to 5 over and if I don't get the heck outta their way, I also will get run over by semi's and most everybody else.
  25. If I weren't so darn lazy I'd just wire in one of the timers I have lying around. I think there's 3 of them in the shed - that way the flowers could have their heat at night and the light would shut off at daylight when it's supposed to.
