Thanks Du-Rron, I guess I'll stick with purolater, just change the number.
-
I never asked when I applied in Ohio or Pa. and I am a DAV but that is good that SC does that
-
I think my RA number was emblazoned on my brain because it pops up every once in a while Feb60 -Feb63
-
I've only lived in 2 counties in Ohio but both Stark County and Carroll County has my DD214 on file should I ever lose the original that I have guarded religeously. I can't believe there would be much of a discount on a cc for military service. I have mine for Ohio and Pa and that covers more states than I'll travel
-
What was the end result ?
-
I think they're worth about $9 each on the retail market but then I'm not in retail. I have no idea how much it might cost to mail them to you but I would really like to sell the chrome wrench with the filters.
-
why yes they are ! I have 5 of them and an EMGO chrome filter as well as the "cup" wrench to take them off. I must have used a couple of the filters on the Honda trikes I had last year. I don't need any of them unless the wrench fits the Purolater PL14612 filter.
-
Eck - Thanks for the chart and I don't know if you use Honda filters or not but I have 6 or 8 Honda OEM oil filters that I have no need for - do you ?
-
T.J. THANK YOU no need for a cross reference chart, it looks to like the Purolater PL14612 is fine and I might go to the Rotella 6 oil, I always seem to gravitate to Mobil1 for my bikes. Unlike some, I'm not anal about oil and filters because I have yet to hear about an engine failure due to oil or filter use. My problem is that I don't know how to search correctly for info. Thanks Again, Hummingbird aka -Dick Byrd

Ok - I give up I'm looking for info on oil filters for my 2009 RSV. I've been nearly an hour seraching here and in the 2nd gen tech area and come up empty. I'm most likely not using the right search words but I really thought that oil change, RSV, oil filters and other terms would bring something besides 1st gen info. If someone could point me in the right direction I sure would appreciate the help.

Anybody having trouble with not enough light

the thing about wireing direct is that you don't have to use 4 tubes in a 4 tube fixture - most likely 2 led - 18 watt tubes in the 5000kelvin heat range will give more light than 4 - 34 watt flourescent tubes -

this link may be a good answer http://www.homepower.com/articles/home-efficiency/electricity/changing-fluorescent-tubes-leds when I changed my tubes out, the Thinklux tubes I bought were fed from one end. The line and neutral were on one end only and the other end had pins just to hold it in the fixture. -

I looked at the ones from Sams club but opted to by a few T8 lights from Lowes @$11 (no tubes), took the ballast out and replaced 2 tombstones and had a new BRIGHT light fixture. Also being the cheapskate that I am, I found a couple 4' fixtures at friend and neighbors that they weren't using and bought them for "their" asking price of $5 One last thing - if you have a dedicated 4 footer at a work station with 2 40 watt tubes, you can replace them with ONE 18 watt (5000K ) led and have more light and the tubes are rated @ 50,000 hours. I think that comes out to 17 years at 8 hours a day. It just occurred to me that I didn't answer your question - Yes, the replacement led tubes can be put in existing 4' fixtures, just bypass or eliminate the ballast and replace one tombstone per tube. -

RedRider - you are most welcome, you WILL notice a difference in your maintenance and electric cost. Not having to buy ballasts is an enourmous savings. Did you remember to order some tombstones ? you have to have them so you can wire direct - My only regret is that I paid $13.49 for the tubes when I found them. Like I said, I have since replaced most of the bulbs in the house with the 18 watt led, gheeeeezz what a difference. Let me know how you like them. -

That's not a problem at all. I had 8' High outputs in my wood shop and in the garage. A ballast for the HO is $55, I bought (@Lowes) 2 4' t8 fixtures ( $11) and had a couple 4 footers laying around and scrounged up from garage sales etc another few fixtures. 4 footers are all over the place, the real thing is that you only need a carcus, take tha ballast out, change ONE tombstone, feed that tombstone with 120vac and your good to go. I had 3 - 8' ho's in my workshop and replaced them with 6 - 4' led's. I also replaced the bulbs in the bathroom over the sink, those led bulbs are $3.99 each with a 50,000 hour shelf life and they are only 18 watt giving out the light of a 60 watt but in the 5000k much brighter. I can actually see to shave now. darn near need sunglasses now and there are no shadows. -
Several months ago I researched LED replacement tubes for my wood shop. The best deal I came across was https://www.earthled.com/?gclid=CJKijIzhhMsCFQ6maQodM6oLOA and these tubes http://us7.campaign-archive1.com/?u=9c9454a46822d2ecb5bdd4775&id=846ca7dd7c&e=383e98d6fd At the time they were $13.49 per tube - the ONLY downside was thast you had to buy at least one tombstone for each tube if you bought the 120v tube because the ballast is bypassed and taken out of the equasion. Right now the Thinklux tube is on sale for $10.99 with free shipping. The only thing I would mention at this point is to take a serious look at the 5000kelvin heat tube, it make a superior light. I've replaced nearly every lamp and bulb in our house with the Thinklux bulb and tube in the 5000k Unbelievable light disclaimer - I have no stock nor am I getting any type of payment for this, it's just a hell of a deal on 4' led tubes

I would probably have another 2 wheeler, maybe another 650 Yamaha but when I ride about 500 miles a year I just can't justify paying the insurance for another toy. I'm near insurance poor as it is - Travel Trailer, Trike, Bass boat, new car, new truck, house - gheeeeezz and on top of that I have to buy gas for all my running around on the trike. I just figured it out - 500 miles@ 25mpg @ $1.33 per gallon = $26.60 that and insurance, i don't know how I'll make it
-
Condor - The reason I've had so many trikes is $$$$ - I buy and sell, don't care what it is, if someone else wants it and is willing to pay for it, it's outta here. In doing so, I managed to try out nearly all of the trike kits on different bikes out there, even rode my friends Voyager on several day trips. For several months I had a 2007 Honda level 4 with a Champion SA kit and at the same time I had a 2008 Honda Level 4 with a MotorTrike IRS kit. Pretty hard to NOT be able to tell the difference between a SA and an IRS so when I saw the 2009 RSV w/Hannigan I didn't hesitate at all. My wife and drove down to Dayton and I rode it home the same afternoon. My 2007 RSV was THE most comfortable bike I ever had so the Hannigan had to be better. It is ! I'm not sure if anybody else that rides a trike will admit it or not but there (to me) is a huge stress factor difference between 2 wheels and a trike. I have never had a REAL close encounter while on 2 wheels but I have on one of my trikes. A car pulled out in front of us and had I been on 2 wheels, we most definitly would have either had a collision or gone down or perhaps both - who knows. But being on the trike I was able to swerve twice avoiding him and the curb and still got turned around to confront the driver, I pretty sure he was more scared than we were. Getting back to stress, I can do an all day trip on 2 wheels and upon returning home I'm nearly exhausted. The same exact trip on a trike does not have the same effect, we're not nearly as tired and I blame it all on stress - Summing up - if someone has a voyager kit and enjoys it, I just as happy as they are but it is not a trike. Just as a Chevy S10 in not a Chevy 1500 Silverado Z71 probably should have mentioned that I just turned 73
-
need a trike -who said they NEEDED a trike. I bought all of my trikes because I wanted them and saw an opportunity to pad my wallet. As a matter of fact I had 2 Honda level 4 trikes in the garage because the purchase price was right. When I found the RSV with the Hannigan, it called my name and I bought it. I can ride a 2 wheeler as well as I ever could, it's just a matter of what I want.

puc - just to throw a little more kindling on the fire - IMHO - A motorcycle with a voyager kit is not a trike. It's a motorcycle with a voyager kit attached with 4 tires hitting the pavement. A trike is a motorcycle that has been altered to the point that it is dependant on and only has 3 tires on the bike, not 4 Again, this is jmho - I was wrong once last year and it's a new year, time to start over.
-
Since this was directly under my post, I have to guess that you understood I was making a disparaging commet. Not at all, I've had 5 different trikes, 4 Honda's and now the RSV w/hannigan and I did ride Bob's Voyager more than a block or two and to me there is quite a difference. Again, to me the comfort and handilng are superior in a trike as opposed to a Voyager. I don't have a problem with anybody owning and likeing their Voyager, if that's what a person likes, I think it's GREAT ! And if I did ruffle feathers with my verbage, my apologies Dick Byrd
