  1. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!
  2. As did I and I asked him to change it so that those in the know would not know
  3. gyronut - change your request to read ' looking for a set of pillow tops ' don't mention anything about 'td's' forgot to mention, I have a welder and a drill also - sometime ya gotta make things work
  4. I'm betting on the ice cream
  5. What about marine outboard 2 stroke motors ? Does seafoam do them more harm than good ?? I have a little sputter in my 60hp Johnson, don't know if it's moisture or the carbs needing attention.
  6. Brad & Lonna HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
  7. I had the pleasure and HONOR to meet him and shake his hand 2 years ago in DC immediately following the parade. Somehow we got herded into the field right beside him. We still had well over an hour of parading bikes before it ended and he never moved, he droopped once or twice but never failed
  8. it sounds like you want your pipes really loud - to do that, you'll most likely have to 'gut' the pipes you have or spend , a lot of it. Within the first week of owning my 2007 RSV I went to my local dealer and he had a set of something that was chrome and hollow. An hour and a half later, not to mention $600, I was on my way. I couldn't wait to get home and get something quiet on my Venture. After several futile attempts and destroying a brand new set of stock muffs, I settled for the 98A's drilled out on both ends. They have just enough bark on acceleration and still I can cruise w/o the ear blasting, deafening noise the other pipes gave me. I should mention that I wear aids on both ears so too much noise is waaaaay too much when amplified
  9. Did you drill both ends out ? Mine has anything but a "tinnie" sound. It's a deep throaghty roar - but only on acceleration -
  10. glad you're OK patti - I was REALLY worried about Don
  11. Cool - did you drill them ?? whaddya think ?
  12. bee's and bikes aren't meant to be in the same sentence. There's no way they go together. I'll not make any funnies over this 'cause there are none ! But I REALLY would like to have been there to see you beating the crap outta Don 'cause he wouldn't pull over immediately :rotfl: btw - I'm guessing you killed the bee and Don is OK ??
  13. Don't forget to get your clamps for the front and the adapter bracket for the rear. There's a member on here that makes the rear mtg. bracket (Hilliss) If your handy, you can probably make it yourself, but I'm on the lazy side and find it easier to buy it than to spend hours on end found the link to Mark Hillis - he makes several neat things for the Venture, pm him http://www.venturerider.org/forum/memberlist.php?do=getall
  14. it opened but wouldn't play - can't say it was blocked, just maybe a blockhead didn't find the right button
  15. I have the same muff on my 2007 RSV. I used a hole saw and cut out the 'plugs' in both ends of the muffs. I'm pretty sure you'll have to have an extension for one end and then you'll have a straight thru muff. At an idle you can hardly tell anything has been done but on acceleration they'll bark rather sharply. Cruising is slightly louder than at an idle, this worked for me but some like to hear the deafening roar similar to a Hardley whether it's at idle or full throttle. If it's the roar you want, then you'll have to go to Jardine or one of the other set's that run into the
  16. My condolences to the lady's family - My next comment is rude and crude but it needs to be said. This appears to be an example showing that it's not ALWAYS the cages fault. We as riders need to be a respectful as we expect them to be -
  17. What are the part #'s on the muffs ?
  18. I use Dupont 3812 fast drying enamel reducer and lacquer thinner for clean up. If those don't do it, then I move on.
  19. Congratulations to the young couple and to you and Angie -
  20. I know what you mean about the running - I made a round trip to Nashville last thursday, almost 1100 miles and test drove a Z3 loooooong day. I left the house at 5:30 am and got back home at 1 pm. not a whole lot of fun
