  1. but if you'll send $65 to some guy in nigeria you can start collecting $7000 every week. so far this week I've got about $8 million lump and $12 thou in weekly payments.
  2. I was in school in 1957 wait wait - I was enrolled in school until February 1959. In 1960 I joined the US Army, the absolute best thing that could have happened to me at that stage of my life. I was not in any way shape or form a contributing member of society until I woke up in the barracks at Ft. Knox Ky on March 1st 1960. ( about 3 am if I remember correctly ) I cannot express enough the effect it had on me. I will forever be in debt to the US Army and the instruction I received the first 9 months of duty. I'm not ashamed to admit that as an individual, I needed that experience and I am a better person for it. Yes I did get my a$$ tanned in HS more than any other 6 people in any of my classes.
  3. tracfone IS a good product for those that don't have a lot of usage. I got one for a friend that calls his brother and family in Germany every day. No contract, no obligations and crystal clear conversations across the pond. A global phone from Verizon can run $50 a month or so(don't ask me how I know), the tracfone is less than $30 a month.
  4. Very nice transformation all I did was paint mine
  5. Thanks Annie - todays the first day I didn't feel I had been beaten with a ball bat.
  6. What a week - Last Wednesday Linda and I went to Canajoharie NY, I had one of those throat tickles. No problem - just a halls or two . Thursday we returned with 1100 lbs of Spaghetti sauce boxed up in the bed of the truck. just East of Buffalo we ran into a little rain that turned into a white out and the road cleared up for maybe 2 miles. Then more snow and another white out but this time it was hail. Scared the crap outta me ! The 2 hour drive from Buffalo turned out to be the drive from - well, you know where. Started coughing during the hail - Friday I called the Dr. to get my "cold" treated. Nobody available. Take something and drink lottsa liquids. OK - Saturday - spent the entire day in my recliner with a blanket and in half a stupor. Sunday at 12:15 Linda called, somebody rear ended me. Off I went. Got back home and back in the recliner with my blankie Monday - 11:20, Dr. said GHeeeeez never seen a throat that red and inflamed. Spent the rest of the day in the recliner with my blankie Tuesday - still got my blankie but this time some drugs and Sangria. Insurance called, get car fixed, we mail you a check and if it costs more have the body shop let us know. Can't wait for Wednesday - If we're lucky, we'll get her car back on the 5th of Dec. - the day before we leave for Australia
  7. miss you too and what's worse is that I'll be in your country next month and will not get to have something on the barbie with you
  8. Thanks guys (and girls ) for your thoughts and prayers We are waiting for tomorrow with a lot a anticipation, as has been stated - the next day can be a real dilly. She'll get in to her Dr. tomorrow after we make a few calls to get the ins. companies in gear. Today was her last day as the substitute organ player at church, consequently she was just slightly later on the road than a normal Sunday. Doesn't really have anything to do with it because we both believe that if it's going to happen, it'll happen, can't stop it or postpone it, just be grateful there was no (obvious) injuries - time will tell
  9. Linda was on her way home from church, an suv was stopped in front of her to let another car turn. She made a complete stop - for about 2 seconds, then a 4wd pickup behind her didn't get stopped, didn't even find his brakes til impact. It appears that the damage to her vehicle is just exterior stuff, bumper, grill, core support and a few other things that I couldn't see because the hood was inoperable. The good news is that nobody was hurt, I reserve that statement because we're both 70 and tomorrow will tell the tale. There will no doubt be some whiplash effect show up tomorrow, just hoping it will be minimal and not long lasting. And how is your Sunday turning out ?
  10. oooooops isn't quite adequate is it ?
  11. Too bad we had to eat and have a beer alone. There was an Applebys near the hotel but like I said, this place is pretty close to nothing. We ended up staying in Johnstown, a lot of nice scenery once you get off I90 tho get to tour a Beech Nut plant in Canajorharie in an hour or so, they built a new plant and are going to auction the contents of the old plant. It's an on-line auction but I always want to have a look see at the items, believe it or not pictures DO lie or at least fib a little.
  12. I going to be in Canajoharie NY this evening to inspect a facility tomorrow - pretty sure it's real close to not much of anything but if anybody knows of a good place for dinner - give me a call and join my wife and me. 330-754-5640
  13. finishing last would be an extreme compliment for me not too sure that I would have enough guts to even start with that group of riders.
  14. I've been to several recently, never know what I'll end up with. Almost always a semi load or 2 or 3 or attached are a couple pics of my finds - I managed to get 104,000 of the bottles and 1,500,000 caps
  15. I know nothing
  16. having a m&E with you and allan was the first thing I thought of (OK - fishing was first) when we decided that Australia was going to happen. Then I looked up your town, couldn't be any further apart and still be on the same continent.
  17. Bryan, I hope none of this is copyrighted because a copy and paste is already in progress Thank you so much
  18. Mel - I just went to New Albany In. on Wednesday - 740 miles round trip. Left at 4am got back home at 6pm. 2 beers, recliner, nap then off to bed. I did go the southern route and Cincinnati was nearly as bad as that other town
  19. If I can figure a way to get it there in solid form - and if you had a freezer ??
  20. no layover - Canton/Akron to Atlanta to LA to Melbourne. Leave from Sydney and back the same way. Anything you can advise on will be most appreciated - We'll have a LOT of free time, going to meet and conduct a little business but all but 2 days will be free to move about. One thing that is definitely on my to-do list is fishing, I want to try fresh water fishing.
