  1. Dragonrider - my apologies, I didn't mean to be so harsh, I can't stand to watch the St. Jude ads on tv, they're just too sad. My heart goes out to anybody that has lost a close friend, relative or family member to cancer. I do consider myself lucky that Linda beat it twice, however the other losses will remain a needle in my heart forever.
  2. Hey Bob - We're leaving for florida on the 27th or 28th. we'll be in Chassahowitzka until the 7th or 8th of February. The dates are kinda iffy because - well just because. btw - chazz is directly West of Orlando on the Gulf coast - I may go down to Winter Haven for a day - maybe not ( see the second sentence )
  3. I read your post, I didn't respond for several reasons - My wife has had cancer twice - breast and ovarian Our 38 year old son died with cancer our 40 year old daughter in law died with cancer my father died with cancer
  4. The steelers have always been able to pull it off (or so it seems) and it's unfortunate that a couple key players were out for injuries. Now having said that - I still wonder how "tuff" the Bronco's really are. Tebow (as has been pointed out) has had a lot of time to spot a receiver, that's why they have 400 lb linemen in front of him. All the teams do it, it just worked out that the Bronco's were better at it than Pittsbrugh. (on Sunday) Time will tell if they can maintain that protection for a 'soon to be' quality quarterback.
  5. OK - I do have google on my puter - this is what it read, sorry about the copy and paste Tebow's passer rating of 125.6 was the highest in Broncos postseason history. He completed 10 of 21 passes and Thomas hauled in four of them for 204 yards ... I really like Tebow but if he comes up against Drew there will be a huge crowd watching to see how it works out. As much as I like Tebow, I have to vote on Drew in that match up.
  6. wait a minute - maybe I'm watching the wrong channel on TV (or) maybe it's because I'm not a steelers fan but I vaguely remember something about 350 yards passing for Tebow.
  7. HAIL MARYS - a 40 yard pin point pass to an open receiver is hardly a hail mary toss
  8. His ONE statement carries an enormous amount of meaning that will NEVER come to fruition He said, (not a quote) Military service should be a requirement for our political leaders today.
  9. I usually get a WHOPPING 140 miles (2011) all the way up to 6000 miles (2009) so that pretty much puts me out of the running for a FREE shield HOWEVER I wouldn't have any problem BUYING a new standard shield w/vent for my Venture at a reduced price for an honest evaluation.
  10. I evidently have bank accounts with banks all over the country because somebody is going to cancel my online access if I don't verify those accounts with all of my personal information. Some of them even ask for dob address ss'# m or f etc - etc It must be working because I get those emails all the time
  11. Frustration coupled with pain = no fun at all ! Good luck with your new surgeon AND the rehab after surgery. Your pain now is a piece of cake compared to after the surgery BUT it will be short lived and you can throw the pain pills away.
  12. I'll most likely come up with something as well and bring it to the rally
  13. that was a great write up, took a lot of time as well as an enormous amount of recall. I didn't read it all because I don't (never did ) have a 1st gen. However I read enough to deter a 1st gen purchase on my part and again to be TOTALLY happy with my 2nd gen. and as XV1100SE mentioned, whether you get there first or second, it doesn't matter
  14. playing devils advocate only Remember how you spent so much time researching the Doctor, the hardware and probably the proximity of the hospital to you (for convenience) ? I wonder if the Doctor checked you out as well and decided he didn't want to deal with this particular liability ??? Believe it or not, they have options as well. They are not at our beck and call as we may think. btw - sorry you're having a snafu with your totally unpleasant upcoming surgery
  15. I retired in February, 2005 at 62 yo - drove myself and my wife crazy for a couple years. Then I got a part-time job that turned into close to full time. Includes a lot of all expenses paid travel for both of us and get to try all the best steak houses we run into. I don't get to ride as much as a lot on here do but I ride as much as I want. Couldn't be happier
  16. Yeah - I have WAAAAAY many more miles in the dirt, but alas, too many things to jostle around now
  17. Big Tom - I really hate the snow also, here's a picture of my new truck buried in our local deluge. I just took the pic about 10 minutes ago sorry about your luck
  18. yeah - be careful, I think gas pressure into homes is restricted to around 3 psi ?
  19. I guess my wife does some payments on the net, like the electric cause I see a notice come in our email.
  20. Ditto on the MacPro and MacBookPro I do have AVG on the other 3 PC's
  21. OOooops - I haven't wrote a check or mailed anything for probably 15 years, wife always does it. Guess I'll waste more than I thought
  22. Actually at 3.78% for 1 1/2 months wasn't that bad on $9800.00 loan. My point is that I thought I paid for a hard copy title this time as I always have in the past. Previously, when I paid off a loan on anything titled, I received an Ohio title showing the lien had been cancelled. That's what I expected this time - I'm probably beating a dead horse but I'm really going to waste some postage mailing them a request for my money to be refunded.
  23. Good Golly, what a jumble f%^$ It probably won't be too long and that well will be more than you want to maintain, $ wise.
  24. Last September 6th I traded my 2009 Silverado Z71 in on a 2011 Silverado Z71 and financed a portion of the purchase price. I paid $17 doc fees and $25 Title fees. I never asked questions about it , didn't have cause to. In the middle of November I paid off the mortgage on the truck and waited for the title to arrive. The last week of November I got an 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper saying that I could take it to my local title department and get a title. I did and it cost $16 for what I thought I had already paid for. After a call to the dealership and talking to the business whatever she was called I found that when you finance a vehicle that there is never a title issued. Everything is "electronic" and I guess it save's the .32 cents to mail a title to you and evidently nobody ever has a clear title to their vehicle. I'm still trying to figure how I can make life miserable enough for the dealer so that they will refund my $16 that I thought I had already paid for a paper title. I'm relatively sure I won't win but it'll be fun jabbing them as often as I feel like it.
  25. You may have to call XM as well as Garmin. I'm pretty sure that XM recognizes the Zumo thru it's individual number and they have to update that info in their data base ?
