  1. I don't know how much it costs now but it used to be $55 a year for GW associate membership. You have to own a goldwing to get full membership but the only difference is the extra cost of about $10 a year Actually, that pretty inexpensive for road coverage - I belonged to gwrra off and on for over 30 years and never used the road service once. they do have a nice monthly magazine with PLENTY of advertising tho -
  2. Yes, you can - A friend brought his Glock 26 to a dinner meeting last evening. Guess what I'm going to buy ?? not his but I'll find one - The KelTec and Glock don't belong in the same category with regard to quality, so it's really not fair to compare them.
  3. we had a couple weeks in Puerto Vallarta 3 years ago, nobody refused the US dollar. A couple vendors tried to get a more than favorable exchange rate but all you have to do is be a little savy and walk away, they usually change their mind. At the time I didn't have a Capitol One card and paid the price using my Chase card.
  4. That's why a cc is a necessity - we took 1000 euros to Spain, France and Italy last summer expecting it to be sufficient for a 2 week tour, it lasted about a week. Credit Card is the answer -
  5. We recently returned from a beautiful trip to Australia - a Capitol One card is a MUST, no fees for out of country use. We did run into several places that refused to take our US greenbacks and didn't accept credit cards. Fortunately, we found nearby more than several exchange facilities that gave us a fair exchange rate. At the time our money was nearly tit-for-tat anyway so it was no big deal. I really recommend getting a Capitol One Visa or Master card, it was welcome everywhere except very small shops.
  6. maybe that's why my air horn sounds funny ??
  7. there's two (2) horns on a Venture ? sumgun
  8. I don't know that one "brand" is better than another brand but I do believe that "people" are different. Some people have difficulties for reasons too varied to list but a few are: their body refusing to accept the new parts, not following rehab instructions and one real but not an acceptable reason for some is an individuals pain tolerance level. My mother had both of her knees replaced 16 years ago, except for the scars you wouldn't know it happened. However she is convinced that because they are 16 years old, they are worn out and she says she shouldn't do any excessive walking. btw - she'll be 92 in a few days. My experience is that my Dr. told me my right knee should be replaced when I was 35 but that he wouldn't because of my age (too young) so with a few pain pills (otc) some cortisone and 3 more surgeries I made until I was 65 before it was replaced. It was the 3rd most painful experience of my life, the first 2 were when my knee cap pivoted 90 degees to the left while I was standing. Bottom line, it'll be painful but you will have to decide whether the temporary post surgical pain is 'better' that the forever pain you are experiencing now. Good Luck and I do believe there are MANY more successful procedures than there are supposed horror stories.
  9. Just had to chime in I've got 5 - 8 foot HD's in the garage. I took them out of somewhere 12 years ago and if the ballasts start going I'll replace the entire fixture with 8 foot T8's. HD's are THE thing for maximum light and they ignite in 0 degree weather, no flickering and no waiting. I guess the down side is that the a ballast costs about $30
  10. I've had 2 trikes - never had to worry about resale, there's a GROWING ( older ) market for trikes. I sold both of mine for a profit, small but none the less, a profit. I only bought them because I wanted to try them -
  11. another expense with a trike would be an "E-Z Steer" configuration. If you haven't tried a trike with it installed, you probably should before a final decision is made.
  12. a 240v demand water heater w/in line filter forgot - you'll need 6 - 120v circuts
  13. The GullWing was a distinctive automobile but you can have a NEW model for around $200,000 so I guess vanity makes a 2 million dollar purchase the envy of the rich kids community.
  14. I'm heading in that direction - I was going to look at a Glock 9mm but this Kel Tec sorta fell into my lap. When it's free, how can you argue might get a Glock anyway
  15. I'm relatively new to side arms - in the Army I carried a 45 cal. - that's my experience. I was the recipient of a new Kel Tec P11 today and was wondering if there is something I should be aware of ? Would like to read the good, bad and the ugly Thanks
  16. I couldn't watch the whole thing, he## I was getting butterflies - I'm guessing he/she made it OK ??
  17. in Europe, it seems that scooters RULE or at least that appeared to be the attitude when we were there. It was just scooter chaotic
  18. I live on the No License No Insurance side of the County ?? The pic reminds me of the Forest Gumpf movie ( stupid is as stupid does ) would have been interesting to see how it was righted without trashing the truck
  19. I just posted this without the help of any downloads from my Droid.
  20. I never saw the 49'ers play until yesterday - They were just awesome !! I always thought that NO would be this years champs - ???
  21. I was a little disappointed in Denver's performance but going in I felt Brady was way ahead with experience on his side. Still can't believe that Brees will be watching instead of playing. At this point it doesn't really matter to me who ends up in the super bowl because all of the advertising time is already sold out @ 6.4 million a minute also -- pittsburgh will be watching as well
  22. Jaybird told me he would most likely get there Thursday and set up his canopy and be ready to start Friday morning ( after he does my Silverado ) btw - he's great with getting the colors just right to compliment or jump out on your bike, whichever way you want it.
  23. Did you say that was an SLR camera - if so I think you need to do some adjusting, it appears a little out of focus not all that fond of the color either
  24. Good News After getting approval from the boss (Freebird) I called Jaybird ( the pin-striper) and he's got this year's MD on his schedule. He said he would come up and be ready to 'paint' on Friday and Saturday. He will again set up his canopy by the willow tree so bring your ideas and be ready to see some GREAT work done while you watch.
