has anybody replaced the stem (top and bottom) bearings on an 1800 GoldWing. I understand that is being done to Trikes because the factory bearings don't hold up to the triple tree revision. Is this a job for a real mechanic ? me being just a play mechanic

Thank You !! I bought it - $489 is at minimum $100 less than everything else listed - the savings will pay for the antenna. I'm waay beyond the happy camper feeling

I finally got a trike "AGAIN" This is my 3rd Honda trike but my first 1800. It has everything a bike could possibly have EXCEPT a CB. So, probably won't do a whole lot of good but does anybody know of a complete CB w/antenna and all of the wiring that might be available ? I've looked on ebay and the prices are what I would expect but looking for something slightly less than 1K Not only the purchase - I haven't a clue about how/where to install it. I see that the bike already has controls on the handle bar so I'm guessing that the unit will be hidden somewhere under the massive amount of plastic.

So Hummi; Do I need to pick you up an airport? JohnB Thanks John but I drove down to Dayton Ohio today and picked it up Very nice looking bike Dick. Hope you get many miles of enjoyment with it. Can't wait to see you and it in person. We'll definately have to get to Berlin next year or sooner if you get another bug to go.

OK - got it home, here's the first pics of it in my driveway. I didn't realize what I was buying until I got there and seen it in person. The PO said when he bought it there were 3 models to choose from. He told the dealer give me the best model. I didn't say too much until I left with the trike on my trailer - then if it hadn't been for the steering wheel, I'd have been doing cartwheels etc. air bag, ABS, heated seats (front and rear) navigation system etc. the one thing it doesn't have is a CB Betch can't guess what my next expendature will be ??

OK - I forgot, do I have to pay a fine ? Here's a couple pics

Yep - the mfg. makes an add-on kit for trikes

DragonRider - I told you when I looked at the "93" that if it fit me better it wouldn't have been for sale - I'd have bought it immediately - just a LITTLE quicker than you did.

I've been looking for a Trike all summer and I finally found one. a 2007 GoldWing with a Champion Trike kit. The bike had 3 miles on it when it was triked in '07' and it's all the way up to 3000 miles now. Looks like an oil change and ride Pick it up tomorrow from a private owner WooooHooo !!

btw - sorry to hear about your incident with the ankle AND a $100 gas cap

What Trike ??

I guess the only good thing about it was that there was much more than 1/2 gallon in the tank, a fill up and seafoam took care of it. I really need to take it for a long ride - wish my shoulder would co-operate. btw - thanks Big Tom, I knew I could count on you

For some idiotic reason I thought I had fouled a plug in my 2007 Venture. As everybody knows, I'm not a mechanic but thanks to the tech section I was able to convince myself that I could change them myself. The reason for the change was the "miss" that I heard in the motor and miss-diagnosed as a fouled plug. So, in less than an hour I had them changed and the bike back together. No special tools, just a Craftsman 18 mm deep socket, a 3/8" swivel, extension, ratchet and a couple allen wrenches. Each plug I pulled I was disappointed that it looked like a new plug - crappola All 4 plugs were in excellent shape, nice light brown, gapped to (I think) 34 thousanths. I didn't have a 34 but I did have a 32 and a 35. Loose 33 and the 35 wouldn't go. Close enough for the girls I date. Got it back together, startedit up - still had a miss. 15 minutes later, some seafoam and fresh gas - I'm just about ready to blame everything on gas that was 2 years old - now, anybody that wants to come down and wake me come on down - bring you're own 2x4 or ball bat, I refuse to take a beating with my own tools

Runs GREAT - I didn't ride it much, just around the lot and parked it. Dragonrider would NOT be happy if I did any damage to HIS 'new' Trike
-
guess the previous owner didn't want it any longer - he delivered it to me Tuesday morning.

Just curious - How far apart are you and the insurance co. Is it your insurance co ?

Doesn't the bank charge you a service charge for the "empty" account ? I have to keep a minimum $1000 in my account to get "free" checking

2007 Royal Star Midnight Venture (aka 10:30)
Images added to a gallery album owned by Hummingbird in Member Albums
Started life as a 2007 Midnight Venture. I had Almasy Auto Body Shop repaint the factor black and I laid out the lines for the Dupont SpectraMaster YM316 and Jaybird pinstripped it then the clear coat was applied. Total cost $1150.00 The Gauge set is from Ponch in Texas. Monty was kind enough to install them for me at MD a few years ago. -
