2007 Midnight Venture com system & cassette upgrade
Hummingbird replied to jtwilburt's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Actually nearly all Yamaha Venture buyer insist on a cassette player, especially when buying the bike new. -
My brother-in-law has been out there 15 or 20 times, they go a couple times a year and I think they've got it figured out. He's been telling about the slot machines on the sidewalks -

We're flying out to Las Vagas Monday AM with Brother-in-law and his wife, we've never been there and they've been there enough to have our rooms comped for the week. We're using sky miles for the flight and a comped hotel so the whole up-front cost is less than $200 for all 4 of us. Realistically, it should cost about that much per day per person so it looks like I've got a lot of spare cash to use for ?? One thing we definitely going to do is a day trip to the Canyon, going to take a bus and let somebody else worry about traffic. Nope, not gonna walk out on that glass thingy - I get nervous just looking over the edge of a hill - Most likely this will be the last thing said about the trip because everybody knows that what happens in Vegas - - - -

Northeast Ohio got hit but we are Ok here in Carroll county. There's a lot of homes North of us w/o electric, all we had was wind and rain. The generater was on standby tho -

Now I have to talk Freebird into letting me list my cassette tapes in the classified section.

I (wife) wanted a trike so I had been looking for almost a year. I really wanted a Venture trike and when I found the one that Lewis ended up buying I knew then that I didn't want a 1st gen because it just didn't fit like I wanted it to. Then one day I found a 2007 GL1800 "comfort" with a Champion kit on it. It was on craigs list and was located in the Dayton area. Didn't scare me - we talked on Friday, I made an offer and Saturday we were hauling it home. It only had 2370 miles on it, a couple little dings and still had the nubbins on the tires. The downside is that it didn't have a CB nor EZ steer and the reason it only had 2370 miles was because of the horrible head shake - it must have scared the bejeebers out of him. $1500.00 later it now has a 4.5 degree EZ steer and a honda CB and antenna and a luggage rack and heel/toe shifter and floorboards

Well, my Venture found a new owner in New York. I've bought and sold bikes, trucks, riding mowers, motorcycles etc. all my life and never felt remorse for doing it until I followed my Venture down the road. Never seen the rear end going down the highway before and realizing it wasn't coming back was reminiscent of when we had to put our dog to sleep after 18 years of friendship and never questioning love. I guess I finally understand why some of you guys talk so affectionately of your bike -

I will have to be chained down in bed somewhere before I give up a glass of wine after dinner - or a LimeaRita after mowing the yard.

Does not want me to wear any other patch while on a chapter ride
Hummingbird replied to YamaDuck's topic in Watering Hole
I've been a member of several different groups since 1977 when I bought my first street bike. Some may find this odd but I still don't have a vest nor do I own any patches to put on one. -
yep - now I'm more curious than anything else

I have NEVER had Starbucks and will not in the future unless someone esle buy's it for me. We have Keurig that makes great coffee and we get k-cups at Sams club, it runs about 50 cents a cup. Our local McDonalds is 49 cents for a senior cup which is just a small coffee. I wonder if the job of sorting the beans out of the elephant dung is a sought after job

I don't recall seeing a dozen crotch rockets at any bar - ever now that I think about it, I can't remember seeing any at all parked at a bar. maybe it's because they're so fast my old eyes just can't pick up the image

if 3 riders are 65 years old and have and accident = 195 average if 5 riders are 32 years old and have and accident = 160 average that gives an overall average of 44.3 years old. ???? that makes the younger rider almost 3 to 1 figures don't lie

that's fine with me - barring an earthquake with a torrential downpour and the lake monster escaping to bring mental anguish on anyone within eyesight - Linda and I will be there
