  1. Thanks Easy Rider, save me a lot of splainin' but we did eat also - here's how they make pizza in italy nad it was alittle dry so we had to wash it down with the bottled water on the table
  2. Well, it was fun while it lasted but we finally got back home Sunday evening. The one thing I promised myself NOT to do again is to fly into Charles DeGaulle airport. We (6 of us) had a great time, spent a total of 3 days in Venice, Italy and 8 days either on a ship or touring some of the Greek islands. Too much food, WAY too much wine and beer (especially when somebody else is driving) and Too much fun. Probably shouldn't do it because it MAY give the wrong impression but I did get a picture of the 6 of us every time we stopped for a beer or a glass of wine. Attached are a few of them - and one picture that needs no explanation, just read the sign over the door
  3. Out of state license plate, gear stacked on a bike - that's almost an invitation. I think a trailer might be in order - problem is, if somebody wants in, they'll get in but a trailer parked in a public parking area MIGHT slow them down. Good luck and that sounds like a great trip
  4. Tomorrow at 6:35PM Linda and I will be seated in 33 D & E on a 757 headed for Paris France then we hop down to Venice Italy for 2 days. On the 1st of June we board the Norwegian Jade and cruise to the Greek Isles. Run around the islands for a few day and head back. Unfortunately, we won't be home for the annual MD at freebirds, our plane lands at Pittsburgh on the 9th. I can't imagine wanting to do anything until sometime after the 10th. (except get a Bud light and probably mow the yard) The weather is supposed to be nice so watch out for the pond monster(s)
  5. on a comparative note - 2 wheel stress level, maybe a 5 (out of possible 10) Trike stress level, most likely a 2 or less Too many plus features with a trike to list them all. Yes, you will get used to not leaning to do a curve and no you won't get anymore helmet slaps for scraping the foot pegs.
  6. Jonsey, sorry to hear this, keep us posted on the ole ticker update. Dick & Linda
  7. In my firearms safety class and as stated by several of my leo friends (Ohio) if stopped by a leo for any reason, keep both hands on the steering wheel at 11 and 1 o'clock and when the leo approaches your window, immediately announce that you are/are not carrying and where it is located. Then follow instructions for safety of all involved.
  8. I've been back and forth to Florida, the East coast and most of the western states staying at hotel/motels for 30 years and haven't had to have a weapon in the room yet. btw - I do have a resident ccw for Ohio and non-resident for Pa. I think they cover 38 or so states.
  9. I didn't want to mention that because of whatizname:innocent-emoticon:
  10. 6' x 10' inside and the axle is dropped enough that you can hardly notice the grade going up the ramp. total weight 800lbs had to buy a 5 1/2" drop receiver so the trailer would sit level
  11. Probably not do too much til we get back from vacation but I do want to do some weekend excursions
  12. A guy I've known for 20 plus years used to have his own welding truck, even had a DC stick welder on a medium sized riding mower and using the gasoline motor to drive the tractor as well as his welder. Needless to say he got a LOT of house calls for items that could not be moved or had limited access. Also, he has MS and is confined to an electric driven mobile unit. He has several of them, all for different uses. He had to retire his truck long ago because of the MS but his welding has not suffered at all - witness his handy work in the attached pictures. A total aluminum trailer custom made for my trike. Of course the axle and hitch are steel but -
  13. I sure will - Thanks !!
  14. I went to see my surgeon for my 8 week post-op rotater cuff surgery check up. The first thing was an xray then he asked if I had any pain ? Yes, I responded, it seems to be on the upper outside of my arm. Have you been behaving ? Well, I said, it's hard for me to NOT do things. Care to guess why you're having pain (again) ? no Whatever it is that you are doing that you know full well you shouldn't be doing has pulled one of the anchors out of your shoulder about 2 mm's. The good thing is that the adhesive held to the anchor. The bad thing is that its touch and go with regard to healing. It WILL heal and be OK IF you quit doing whatever it is you insist on doing for at least another 8 weeks. Bottom line - either let it heal or pull it out more and get another surgery with a larger anchor. How will I know if I pull it out ? You'll know !! So betcha can't guess who's back to wearing their sling ?
  15. Jaybird was here and striped my new truck and asked if he was invited to MD again this year. So my question is - Is Jaybird invited to MD 2013 ? I'm sure he's looking forward to it and I believe there are several members that want him to be there. Thanks
  16. Having raised a 2 day old kitten that his ferral mother left in our flower garden and having adopted 3 other cats that had taken up residence in our yard, I got nothing to say except
  17. A friend had a Voyager on his Wing - constant adjusting to obtain best ride, got high sided a couple times (outriggers on solid ground but drive wheel in a concave area), once on, he never took it off and still had adjusting to do often. I can't imagine the problems that MAY be encountered by taking it off and on regularly. (if that's your intention) Several downsides but the MAIN up side is being able to ride w/o the fear of going down at a light. All in all, I'm sure you'll both enjoy it.
  18. I thought I turned that off
  19. Malvern Ohio to Sturgis SD = 1340 miles That's a one day ride for most Iron Butt riders but not this aluminum butt rider
  20. Welcome to Ohio You will soon find out that the saying IS TRUE "If you're not happy with the weather right now, just hang around for an hour or so, it'll change" Being up near the lake you'll find a lot of truth in that statement and btw - look up Buckshot, he's in the Toledo area and he knows the way to Oberlin Hummingbird
  21. I've had a smart phone for business/work for several years. I use it specifically as a PHONE and to store contacts (about 500) I use it also for email to and from customers I use it to take and send pictures I use it for texting customers I do have pictures of personal things like my bike, cats and various thing of personal nature The phone (Razr Maxx) came with 35 or more apps that have no interest to me at all. Most of which I don't even know how to use. I did download and install a weather app, a world clock and white and yellow pages, all of which are used for business. Somehow I manage to find time to watch football on TV (not on my phone), have time to go to the bank when necessary, don't know how to twitter and I don't have any inclination to facebook (whatever that is) So bottom line, the smart phone is as smart as I let it be
  22. My bad - never thought to look at the calendar
  23. well now, that's a pretty picture
  24. Big Tom - is this going to happen again this year ? Jaybird was here today doing my truck and inquired about it. a couple pics of his handy work on my new truck
