I had NUMEROUS emails and phone calls to MotorTrike in Texas - they were sympathetic but no help. My ONLY option is to trash Leola MotorTrike as often as I can. I must add that MotorTrike had nothing to do with the lousy paint job, it was all on Leola MotorTrike in Leola Pa. (near Lancaster Pa ) I'm not generally a vindictive person until I've been lied to, then all bets are off, it then becomes an open playing field. My last email from Texas was that because I was the second owner and the paint was 1 1/2 years old that it was pretty much my problem. I guess the warranty that matches the factory warranty that LEOLA MotorTrike advertises doesn't mean a thing. I hesitate to refer to the original owner on open forum but if there is any interest, pm me but I beg that it goes no further than a pm.

Now I'm ashamed of MYSELF - I was so wrapped in my own misery that I failed to notice a TOTAL genuine offer of help. rickardracing - my apologies, thank you for the offer but as I mentioned, I already have my local auto body shop re-painting it. As a matter of fact, Almasy Body Shop in Waynesburg, Ohio is taking care of it for me. The same painter that painted my 2007 Venture is doing my trike. He did a FINE job on the Venture

Randy, that's some REALLY nice work and a fine example of what can be done when a person cares. The painter at Leola Trikes that painted my trike is either half blind or just doesn't give a crap. Sad to say but the owner Ron made the comment that the factory (Honda) paint didn't look as good as their paint job. attached are a couple examples of their FINE work

I would rather have had earl schibe done the initial paint job. I've seen some of their work and it was GREAT compared to what was done to this trike.

A few weeks ago I bought a 2008 GL1800 MotorTrike Adventure from a member here. This has no reflection on that member at all, it is ALL on Leola MotorTrike in Leola Pennsylvania. When I bought the Trike, I didn't inspect it other that to ascertain that it was an IRS bike and the mileage was correct. It was a dark, overcast day and after my wife and I took a short test ride I was satisfied that everything worked. I NEVER imagined that the paint job would be the worst example of a back yard apple tree job one could EVER see. Not only that Leola Trikes and Blackburns Trikes in Medina Ohio agreed that there were problems with the paint. There was fish eye, orange peel and clear coat flat spots all over the body of the trike kit. I finally took it back to Leola Trikes in Leola Pennsylvania and the owner Ron said that if I left it a few days they would fix it. 2 weeks later I called ( for the 4th or 5th time) and was told by Ron (the owner) that it was ready. btw - Leola Pa. is a 6 hour drive one way for me. Upon arriving at Leola Trikes I was taken to the trike in their mechanical work area. There it sat - not looking too much better than when I left it. When I voiced my disappointment the painter blew up and said that he had re-painted the whole thing. TOTAL LIE ! During the time it was there Ron had told me that the painter was taking the aquashields off to buff them. It was evident that that hadn't been done either. There was buffing marks, swirls and compound strewn all over the bike. I could go on and on but a copy and paste from Leola MotorTrike web site pretty much belies their actual behavior - note the line in red - that evidently is also not true Attached are a few pics Quick Facts: •Established in 1997 •Service to 14 states with over 600 trikes built •Owner Ron Myers has over 22 years’ experience in the triking business •Leola Motortrike is the only dealership that offers free warranty on their workmanship of a trike build that matches the manufacturer’s warranty of thetrike kit. •Honda Certified Tech on staff with nearly 30 years’ experience on a variety of cycles •Painter and paint booth in-house providing bike restoration, painting and repair •Large showroom, full line of accessories and trikes for sale •Dealer & trike builder for Motortrike, Yelvington, and Danson trikes. •Providing full service, customization, and maintenance on all makes and models of bikes, trikes, and scooters, PA state inspections, parts, bike and rider accessories.

I don't feel that's right - it'll always be a salvage bike and somewhere down the line a Mr. somebody will buy a good looking bike thinking he got an unmolested bike whereas that is way far from the truth. Unscrupulous body "people" was washing car titles down South until the states got together and hopefully got it stopped. buy a flood car in Ms. title it to their friend in Al., clean it up and re-title again in another state that dropped the "salvage" on the title, then peddle it up north as a 'Southern' car Just not right

$6K to $10K

Unless you're intent on engineering something (and I think it's in your blood ) there are a ton of GL1500's out there already done - plus the price on some of them are pretty appealing

Some other forums make you appreciate sites like this one

you probably weren't aware that there are repercussions awarded for venting about other sites and you have fallen into that category. I'm pretty sure that your punishment will be an afternoon or early evening rain nearly every day of the riding season. UHOH - wait a minute, you have that as it is. OK, since you're already used to the rain - - - - - -
crap - he's still breathing

At $21K or $22K for a new one and used ones everywhere for $12K, don't have to be rich to afford them. One of the nice things about free enterprise is that anything that meets federal standards can be marketed to the consumer. The can-am hasn't taken over the market but I'm sure they have their own following just as venture riders or Honda riders. I have never rode one and most likely will not because I just don't like the overall appearance. Eye candy comes in all shapes but I personally do not see any calories in the Can-Am.

I went thru the registration process right up to the part where it was going to cost $200 for a 1 year period. That's probably not too bad if a person was in the business (ie:Pinwall) but for an occasional buy and a live on site auction ? naw -

Too many variables involved when trading bikes - it's pretty difficult to compare apples to oranges sometimes Already had a 2007 and a 2008 GL1800 trike when his went up for sale - my problem was that they were both air baggers and less than 4000 miles on each one.

Trouble shooting - Goldwing reverse light keeps blinking

I'm sure you know, but the relay box is under the seat. No, I didn't know - Thanks -
oooops, I forgot - (pictures)

well, the deal didn't fly - we couldn't get together on $$$ so I guess I'm stuck with a 2008 GL1800 AirBagger with a MotorTike Adventure kit. It has everything a person can get on a trike except the Venture PILLOW TOP seats and forward highway boards.

I know there are several here that have the Hannigan kit on their Venture so I'm asking for opinions and stories of gremlins relating to the kit. The reason for this query is because I'm looking at a 2007 Venture with a 2009 Hannigan kit and am curious if there are differences between the 2009 kit and the current kit that would make for a bad choice. I really do miss my '07' Venture, shouldn't have sold it

The Ortho Home Defense is an invaluable tool for anybody that (I'm not gonna say skeeerd) is offended by spider inhabitants. I shoot it along the garage door frame from top to bottom, across the top and across the seam in the concrete. It also gets shot around the doorways into the house and along the foundation anywhere in the basement that even looks like a spider would inhabit. The great thing about the Home Defense is that you can actually spray inside the house along the baseboard because it doesn't stain. It also takes care of those pesky little red ants that seem to show up in any crevice available.

I don't care what they say - It's gotta be true, they can't put it on the internet if it's not true !!

looks pretty nice except for that thingy sticking up in the air in back
-
yes, but it's on a Venture

Golly, that is huge get everyone to pull one of those and clutch sales will surely increase

is there anybody here that can specifically point out how many engine failures were caused by poor filtration ?? changing oil and a filter is messy enough without having to wash out and dry an oil filter to re-install. (not to mention paying nearly $150 for the filter and then the cost of cleaning solvents, rags and disposal of the aforementioned items)

here's another write up http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2013/08/21/chevy-chevrolet-auction-nebraska-corvair-silverado-cameo/2682061/ being a Chevy guy the picture of the 56 and 57's sitting in the field took my breath

Without a poll, I would "venture" a guess and say that the alternator would be the only common breakdown factor on a wing. Regarding your initial question, The Venture is definitely more comfortable than a wing (for me) but the wing has so many more creature features that I don't mind giving up a little comfort. Out of the box the Venture wins hands down in comfort but it lacks in technology. I had considered Triking my 2007 Venture until I accidentally found the 2007 air bagger GL1800 already triked w/2340 miles on it. case closed ( except for the continual trips to Cyclemax for bling )
