  1. I saw a very interesting thing today - At first I spotted the helicopter hovering and then I noticed a cable dangling from it. I thought they were inspecting the high power lines in the area but then I rolled the window down and heard a chain saw running. This is obviously standard procedure but new to me. I'm guessing the cable was at least 100 feet long and a series of blades at the end of it. Sure made saw dust out of some dead trees -
  2. I use CL all the time for a lot of different items. What I have found tho is that if I priced an item too high for what it is (ie: 10" wood planer $400 when it actually should be $50 or $60 ) I get either no responses or scammers. product and price have to be a matched set or priced less if you want to move it. A motorcycle that has a lot of custom work and additions probably doesn't belong on CL, should go to ebay with a reserve. Ebay has a much larger audience - and a more reputable audience
  3. I think it's a pretty good idea - I've noticed that some drivers mistake a flashing red light and siren for an invitation to speed up and try to get away from the noise and lights
  4. Yeah, I'm jealous my first car was a 12 year old piece of - well maybe it wasn't that bad BUT it sure didn't look as good your first car. Congrats !!
  5. I've been trying to imagine being in that circumstance, I can't see myself there. I'm sure you did the right thing - - - - -
  6. All of the deer lying there were to be processed by the butcher shop and as well, all of them HAD to be there to be checked in by the game warden. The hunters that intend to process their own never took them off their truck, just had them checked and left. The hunters have to buy a tag prior to hunting and affix it to their kill and check it in at one of many stations in the county. I do agree that the herd needs to be thinned and I don't hold ill feeling to the hunter, I just don't have any desire to do it myself. Somebody already said it - it's better to cull than to watch them die of starvation or get killed on the highway.
  7. yeah, I know I couldn't shoot one on a bet but our county is nearly over-run with them. We have an enormous amount of car/deer encounters on an annual basis. The sad part is our county population is only about 30,000, that's a lot less than the nearest city in Stark county
  8. I went to my local butcher shop to get a strip loin, didn't have any idea that gun season was upon us. They had 3 guys inside butchering and one outside prepping. It was 4PM and they were still coming in. I counted 123 deer on the ground - haven't a clue how many had already been taken inside.
  9. I saw a video similar to that a couple years ago but the rider was a LOT more fluid. This guy had way too much caffeine prior to the show. none the less - impressive handling of a bike
  10. It matters not what caused the loss, the fact is a family member has passed my condolences to you and your family
  11. got one this AM
  12. the rule has "Omega Tools" engraved on it
  13. who got switched ?
  14. what's that on your shoulder ?
  15. you are probably a machinist. I'm not at all sure where I got it but I'm tired of moving it around and I don't have a clue what it is other than a measuring tool of some kind. The rule is a stainless steel 0 mm to 15 mm and is riveted to the larger metal plate - has a spring loaded pin 'keeper and a thumb screw on the back to hold the measurement. If somebody can identify it and has a use for it, I'd be happy to part with it. I should have added, if somebody has a use for it in their shop, it's your's for postage cost.
  16. I had both of mine done at different times but my down time was only 6 weeks or so. I had therapy for 8 weeks but the only drawback was strength - I had all the rom, actually more than I had before surgery. My therapist (not the mental one) cut me off therapy early on the second shoulder, she couldn't understand why I was even there. gave me some strength exercises for home and said goodbye.
  17. I've had 4 Silverado's with the extended cab. Currently it's a 2013 and I just can't see myself without the extended cab feature. Sure, I've only got a 6.6' bed but with the tailgate down and a couple ratchet straps, they have always done what I wanted. Matter of fact, my '05' Silverado short bed hauled 2400 lbs of Stainless Steel conveyor chain up to Toronto with no problem at all.
  18. last month or so ago they had a horrific earthquake that they haven't recovered from yet
  19. Do I need an external for each Imac ? The second Imac runs W7 Ultimate only, I don't think there is anything on the mac partition that I care about.
  20. I read probably 80% of the text in this thread - not sure how I did that 'cause I never could read nor understand greek before. So - with that previous statement in mind, how can I back up my Imac (using 10.7.5 os 3.4ghz Intel core i7)) ? second - how do I back up my Imac (using W7 Ultimate 3.4ghz. Intel Core i7) ? I know I will have to use 2 separate external hd's and I have a ton of picture, don't really care about music, address book is critical and how do I know if it actually saved anything ?
  21. Too many things to say but don't know how - Prayers for the family is all I can come up with
  22. Lewis - it beats the crap outta the alternative I retired when I was 62 and I'm just tickled pink every day that I wake up on the green side of grass ...... Good Luck at the Dr's
  23. this is what I have on my GL1800 http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=CFBR-GL1800 It works great and is integrated thru the system. The only thing I can't do is make a call without picking up the phone and dialing because I didn't activate voice dialing on my phone. On the other hand, why do I want to make a call while I'm riding ?? It is handy tho to be able to receive - I didn't research but there's most likely a system that will integrate with the Venture
  24. LEOLA trikes owner told me that the fish eye and orange peel could have occurred after it left their shop.
