140,000 miles on a '98' RSTD and the statistics cought up with him. I've ridden with him many times and he normally does not wear a helmet and he was about 6 miles from home. I was told he hit a critter, groundhog maybe and it's hard telling what transpired from that except that he left the road. http://www.cantonrep.com/article/20140829/NEWS/140829135/1994/NEWS

Patti - in my eyes, it counts if you just take a moment to ponder whether you ride, walk or run

Congradulations on your upcoming retirement I did that almost 10 years ago and sometimes I wish I had kept working so that I could look forward to a vacation once a year.

Doesn't that take all the FUN out of felling, cutting and splitting firewood ? oooops, I forgot trying to stack split cordwood. You're not even going to have to contend with ants and other critters associated with cordwood. (good job & GREAT find ! )

A couple weeks ago I took a control panel off a piece of machinery and threw it to the floor. Darn, I forgot that my foot was in that same space I managed to NOT cry but I did whimper quite a bit. A day later my big toe, right foot didn't look too good. Within 3 days I could walk in a normal fashion but I had to relieve some of the pressure so I poked it with a needle. Darn thing seeped for 4 days, nearly ruined 4 socks thru bandaids. Last evening after my shower I accidently bumped it while crossing my legs while relaxing in my recliner (glass of wine in hand) Well, it's ugly but - -

nice 'bike' Larry but if I was going to sit IN something I would prefer the '55' or '56' behind you in the first picture

sure is a lot different than the M38A1 and the M151 I used to drive

But what will you do when you want to take a bike trip thru Europe ? or go to Venice to sample some just caught clams and wine ?
-
That IS NICE !!!

Luck doesn't rear it's head as often as it should, you were it its cradle at that moment. Glad you made it with minimal injuries. How did the bike fare ?

Richland looks like they made considerable improvements over the other add on wheels but it's still not a trike. It will not, cannot compare to a Hannigan, CSC or any of the trike kits installed on a motorcycle. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the wheels add on, if that's what a person likes - good on them but it's still not a trike and never will be.

puc I ususlly don't read your entire posts because you evidently have a speedier keyboard than anybody on this site, did I say speedy, what I meant was you have more ink in your keyboard than most here. I do enjoy what I do read and I'll always maintain that everybody has an opinion and is entilted to express it as long as it doesn't get to name calling etc. So my point is, advertising on this site for a non member is (in my opinion) wrong, don't care who it is. Now having said that, I don't have a problem at all with you or anybody else posting on the forum that your buddy has a bike, trike or even one of those slower 1st gens for sale and posting it in the watering hole as a link to that person to contact instead of a full blown ad in the classifieds that he/she has not a vested interest.

I agree yet disagree Telling your friends about a deal on something is quite different than posting his unwanted items on OUR site. Doesn't monetary responsibility come into play at all - I pay my dues for the use of this forum, a non-paying 'friend' has no business advertising here.
-
The second reason is because the members here, NOT me, decided long ago that they wanted our classifieds open to post only from supporting members. The consensus was that you didn't want strangers that have never participated here joining up as trial members when the only intention they have is to try and sell something. You wanted the ads to be from people that are supporting members here that you know and trust. A members forum - Ok, I'm not a contributor of any sort, just been paying my paultry dues since they were put in effect and a "member" prior to that. BUT - If I had something for sale I would (and have) posted it in the classifieds and as well if a 'buddy' has something for sale and I thought it was a good deal, I bought it and then posted MY item in the classifieds. I really don't feel that I should post an item, regardless of what it is, that I don't own. Isn't it really the responsibility of the owner to post and sell ? If he/she is not a member, well you get my point.

talk button is for cb - ic is voice activated and adjustable to sensitivity. You should have a wind sock on your mike or you'll go banannas with wind noise

after watching the video - it sure looks to me that the car had the right of way. all of the straight traffic had cleared the intersection and the traffic was then moving on the turn signal. It appears the bike was NOT turning left as was the rest of the traffic. need more info than the video gives bike riders have some responsibility too

can'y go wrong with a Hannigan - they are great conversions. Select your mechanic carefully, to my knowledge the installer could be your only hiccup with a Hannigan. One thing sure, you will totally enjoy a trike

I have a lot of miles on Rte. 19 in Florida over 22 years. There used to be a bumper sticker circulating that read "I drove Rt. 19 and survived" A lot of 19 is like riding thru a metropolitan business section on a 4 lane and 6 lane highway, not a pleasant ride even in a car.

I can envision Big Tom punching this guy out

quite a show - but all that for 3 rubles ? -
Freebird - you are right about bikes being totaled for the cost of plastic, my point is that when a bike (or car or truck) is totaled it then becomes a salvage titled vehicle period. If a fight ensues over that and the rules are changed, then someone along the line is going to get a salvage vehicle. There are paper trails every where - just sayin'
-
I agree that one should be aware of insurance practices and from what was posted he knew and circumvented the system to line his pockets. Do you really think that a bike that has been salvaged by the insurance co. should NOT be titled SALVAGE ? I really don't care how it was damaged, it was salvaged because of extensive damage and should be titled as such. That in itself is cheating the entire motorcyclying body. Someone is going to unknowingly get a salvage bike when it sells to the public, regardless of what the title says.
