  1. prayers for Abdul and family
  2. Considering the conditions you were in, the emblem on the grille had nothing to do with getting stuck.
  3. Chaharly - when you were in Leavittsberg, you were only 50 miles North of me and a rack of ribs. Sorry we missed each other - regarding the bike - I've made several trips to buy bikes, seems the ones I want to buy are always 500 or more miles away. I always take my wife and if I find the seller did not represent correctly, me and my wife find a nice restaurant, have an overpriced meal and go home the next day (empty trailer and all). I've done it a couple times, we just consider it a night out.
  4. We all pay higher premiums for natural disasters also - even tho we may not have been affected by one
  5. There are living wills filed at our local hospital - "do not resusitate" My only concern is that if I go first, my wife will find out what I really paid for my wood tools
  6. In Ohio, after you've held a mc endorsement for a year you are no longer required to wear a helmet.
  7. I have a restaurant/bar (FireHouse Restaurant) right next door to me that has wings on Tuesday for 50 cents and on Thursday they have a full rack of ribs for $11.99 No sides, no drinks but wife and I go over (walk) and get a slab, a couple beers and maybe some french fries and get out for about $20. Nice thing about having it so close, I can crawl home if I decide to stay longer
  8. I retired 10 years ago from ringing a time card but still spend 5 to 8 or more hours a day in my wood shop creating. Too much fun to quit
  9. Where there's a will, there's a way ! Congrats on the pt work, funny how just a little bit more make such a BIG difference.
  10. Happy Birthday Freebird, hope you're home and can take a day off to enjoy
  11. Rick, I don't have a problem with your way of thinking, I was merely pointing out that w/o a ccw and you shoot someone that is not in your HOME, you are just as liable as any bad guy with a gun and will be treated as such. Without a ccw you are better off grabbing a 2x4 and clubbing someone that attacks you than pulling a gun. Your call, it doesn't effect me at all.
  12. In Ohio, you can do all the protecting you want as long as it's in your home and you are in fear of your life. On the street, if you don't have a ccw and start protecting, you will most likely go to jail as quickly as any other felon.
  13. YEP !
  14. Didn't mean to muddy the waters - just a friendly warning. I'm sure you are capable of the repair, but I certainly wouldn't be crawling around in this sub zero temps when I could pay someone to do it. Good Luck - I know there's someone here that can help
  15. My first was a home made thingy - Cushman frame and an old Briggs and Strattan motor. Then went to a Harley 165, this was before cameras so your imagination comes into play in this case. Never did accumulate any more than one at a time, buy sell, buy sell
  16. A guy jumped out of an airplane, pulled the rip cord, nothing happened. He looked around and saw a guy coming UP - as they passed each other the jumper asked "do you know anything about parachutes ?" "No" was his response. "Do you know anything about gas furnaces ?" just sayin'
  17. There are two sure ways to handle this situation #1 - Cell Phone #2 - Land Line With either one you can surely find someone that is willing to crawl around in the snow and cold to fix the igniter. That's my story and I'm sticking to it
  18. You are extremely correct - in the late 1960's A friend and I was driving to the dump (prior to landfills) and got stopped in a surprise vehicle safety check. The state patrol had a road block set up and giving every vehicle a safety check. When it came our turn, I had my driver license ready and 3 rifles, a couple pistols and ammo laying on the back seat. Patrolman checked the lights etc and looked in the car and saw the artillary and asked where we were going. I told him to the Hanoverton dump to shoot rats, OK be careful was his only response. Had that same incident occured yesterday or today, I'd be calling someone from the nearest jail to come get me out. Times have certainly changed !!
  19. cowpuc - I've only attended 2 or 3 md's at Freebirds but I can guarantee you will enjoy your day(s) and never meet a stranger. Hummingbird
  20. That isn't right in any country -
  21. You may be right - it sure looks a lot like my Kimber CDP 11 but mine is a 9MM
  22. If you haven't visited their site, it's a blast I did find one that I thought could be considered a well dressed shopper
  23. I thought it was funny also - quite a chuckle to an open mind. I've always wanted a Harley, I just didn't want to buy all the clothing that must be mandatory when you ride a harley
  24. no such thing - it seems we are mandated to keep and coddle them for a minimum of 20 years to give them a chance to exercise their civil rights.
  25. I recently read or heard on TV that some law inforcemets are attempting to use the cellphones of accident participants as part of the accident investigation. ie: evidence of texting immediately prior to the accident. Everything is time stamped so I think it's a good idea and should be used to affix fault in accidents especially when I see nearly as many people looking at their lap while driving as there are looking at the road.
