Anyone tried the DiamondR Coffee Mug ?
slick97spirit replied to bamico's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That's what I use and it ranks #2 behind the GPS for best mods. On long rides it's a life saver. Easy to use, plus the cup holder/bracket comes off the bike in a jiffy if I'm just tooling around town. -
21!!!! man, you've been at this for a while. Congrats, Dan.

Not only that but he lives up to his nickname of "The Ambassador." I have personally witnessed him walking up to complete strangers on motorcycles (not just yammies either) and invite them to take a look at this site. He would introduce himself, hand them a VR business card and tell them all about us. It's no wonder with him around that we have over 9000 members.

Not sure that the issue I had is the same, but when I first set up my headsets I would get a loud "feedback" type noise if I had the IC setting too high and turned my handlebars to the left lock side. When I straightened the bars it would stop. The first thing I would check would be to see what you IC setting is. Otherwise, some have had to move some wiring under the gas tank away from the ignition wiring.

What does your temp gauge read?
slick97spirit replied to SilvrT's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When cruising at highway speed @ 80 deg. mine usually runs 190 deg. On the way to MD in very slow traffic it hit 230+ which surprised me. If the outside temp is around 70 it will run right at 150-160 & not go any higher. -
You know we're always talking about how horrible it is for cagers to drive inattentively and hit a motorcycle. Well, this w/e in Illinois there was a biker killed on I-57. From what I understand (tv news) there were several bikers riding on the interstate. The lead biker slowed due to an emergency vehicle on the side of the road. Apparently the bikers toward the rear were not paying attention and struck the bikers in front of them. One killed, two severly injured. It's not always the cagers, there are rules of the road to follow when riding with other bikes too. Prayers out to them and their families.

Yesterday in the midst of all the heat and humidity I got the bright idea that I needed to burn some brush! Yeah, I know, pretty dumb. Almost over did it too. I don't really think it's possible to stay cool in these temps/humidity. Just drink lots and lots of water.

That's unbelievable. No wonder the dealer that sold it is out of business. It's still under warranty and they should honor that. The things that he's already had to fix should prove that the prior dealer missed the mark. Good luck

I have one of these and am having a little trouble fitting it to the bike. Is there anyone here that uses this hitch? I have a couple of questions.

I love this stuff. It's so cool to see/hear the history of how these things were developed and how they overcame obstacles. Thanks for posting this.

And to think Naked Rider and myself unknowingly camped next to him at MD. I'm wondering why no one warned us?

Taken straight from foxnews.com What else can be said here other than maybe there's some kind of Icelandic conspiracy to slowly infiltrate our society!!! Both libations are clear examples of things you should be wary of on vacation. But sometimes, the decision to drink or not to drink isn’t always clear cut. Herein, a selective world tour. Watch what you sip in Iceland. Nicknamed “Black Death,” Brennivín is a “horrid, throat and gullet-searing schnapps made from fermented potatoes and caraway” that’s best avoided during a vacation to Iceland, says Trip Chicks tour guide Ann Lombardi, who recently returned from the country. Most Icelandic people say clear of the drink as well as an accompanying snack, fermented shark, unless they’re trying to “impress unsuspecting visitors,” says Lombardi, who says she and her fellow travelers “should have known better about both. After being conned first into eating several chunks of the fermented shark we thought nothing could taste worse. We were dead wrong. I almost passed out after just one small sip [of the Brennivín], and the offensive odor stayed in my mouth for days.”

Bump, curious myself -
Bill, I'm not sure I can swing the time off, but if at all possible I'd be interested. Is that the park where the trout stream is. If so, I may have to forego the riding for the flyfishing. Ken
