  1. Yep, I rode my brothers (Smoothcruiser) 1200 1st gen and it is definately faster than my 07' but not nearly as comfortable. By the way he still has it for sale, I wish I had $4,000 to give him, I would be a happy man in both worlds.

  2. My father had trucks and a salvage yard/shop when I was a kid groing up. Worked with him for years after school and in the summer. Soon I was rebuilding trans/ rearends, broke down alot of tires before then. Tore down alot of trucks pressure washed serviced and logged alot of parts. Some of my best memories are from those days with my dad at his shop or on the road with him. He tought me everything I know about wrenching on anything gas, deisel, 2 wheels, 4 wheels and above, which also tought me another lesson....... stay in school. I am a registered nurse now working as an administrative supervisor been at this hospital for 16 years now. Don't miss trauma nursing at all.

  3. Don't have a pic of the boat I served on. I was Brown Water Navy in Nam. PBR....River Patrol Boat. After my 3rd Tour I rotated back to the world (Stateside). Within 72 hours of being in Kalifruity I got word that my river boat had taken a direct mortar hit while on routine patrol. The boat was blown to pieces and everyone on the boat was killed.

All other Naval units I served on after that meant nothing to me. Just doing my time headed for a Pension and Retirement.

Boomer.....with nothing funny to say about this at all.

Hey Boomer, My uncle, Steve Newell was there PBR as well. He has told me a story of a mortar strike on one of their boats. Big time Goldwinger hear in MS. and my hero along with my son "THE MARINE". Best Regards, and THANKS, carl:thumbsup:

  4. Annie, doctors have been wrong before. I hope in this case they are wrong and you get your wheels back soon. Prayers for you both daily from South Mississippi. Your VR family misses Y'all dearly. Get well soon Annie!!!!!!! Carl and Pam.

  5. Guy's, My brother,(smoothcruiser), who just joined and bought an 83, is in the process of getting her on the road. He asked me to see if anyone has a cb antennae for sale or otherwise. Didn't see anything in the classified. You can pm smoothcruiser with info. Thanks in advance, Caveman.

PS; I think he wasn't sure of how to search forum or where to post. He'll get there eventually as we all do..... Thanks!!!!

  6. I have the short/ wide show chrome and I love it. my wife say's she can't tell the difference. I feel it riding one-up pushing on my back strangely enough but not a problem at all. My bike seems to cut right through the wind w/ the shorter/ wider screen. I am 5'6'' and can look over with relative ease; "stop slouching" as my wife puts it.

  7. I have the nelson- riggs full cover, and I love it. Totally water-proof and has vents to let mouisture out. I have the one with the silver bottom and can put it on without worrying about the hot mufflers. Also has the elastic bottom, stays put!!! Two thumbs up for nelson-riggs covers. Also comes with a cinch bag for packing, packs up small, nice. Carl
