Congratulations! I really like mine and the turn signal/brake lights work great. I placed the 1 load equalizer in the fairing and the other on right side of battery. Heat is always a major factor here in Vegas. But Custom Dynamics assured me there would be no trouble. (I bought the high heat EQ's) You will really like how bright the lights are. Did you get the 100 L.E.D. brake light.

Flyinfool I wonder if they pull you over and if you do not cite the law, they will write the ticket for running the red??? GOOD thought! I wonder myself??

I'm Giving Up For This Summers Riding Season
kantornado replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
I love to play golf myself did not start til I was in my 40's. Used to make fun of the people I would see playing because how hard could it be RIGHT.( LOL ) I was invited by co-workers out for a round & how hard could it be, smack a little ball put it in the cup and move on easy right. First time out playing on a executive 9 hole course I shot a 256. I thought R U kidding me I can do better then that and I was hooked. It's a game that relaxes me and can never be won just played. Best game I ever shot was a 77 and after figuring I had this game down the next day I shot a 160. I love to play I am a 100 player ± 5 now and know I have hit my peak. LOL I also love to ride the VENTURE so I feel for you. I think in your shoes I would golf and work on the bike a little at a time. jmo Have a great summer.......Ron -
I use Turtle wax on my windshield, when I'm waxing the bike I mist some on the windshield and wipe it on. Helps with the bugs too! The wax is in the spray bottle so its easy to put on and I use the mico fiber towels very soft. I have used Meguiars as well as other brands as long as its in the spray bottle. It just comes down to your preference........Ron

Thank you CONDOR and BUBBER I will check on wasted spark ignition. I did not know this about the RSMV. There are allot of tach's out there that are 4-6-8 cylinder rated & are for motorcycles. I just need to find out about this wasted spark thing. So its off to research............Ron

I have an 02 and have had absolutely NO problems at all. Over 100000 miles and just normal maintenance. Had the same with my 83 Venture. Outstanding motorcycle's.I just buy chrome and DO-DAD'S. You just need to pay attention to how many miles your putting on to keep track of rear tire and rear break replacement. LOVE THIS RIDE..........Ron:cool10:

1st things 1st I was not prepared 4 how many 2 inch tach's were under $50. Most are between 10 and 25 $. 2nd with so many choices between electronic/mechanical/digital/L.E.D. what is best and is the more wires it has better 1 has 7 wires out the back to several locations or do we (K.I.S.S) (keep-it-simple-stupid) with 1 wire to the spark plug?? 3rd Color choices on the face with so many 2 choose from it's real hard to figure out because of sun light and mounting location. There's blue, red, yellow, white with color graduations to the red line, black face with color spectrum's off the charts (very pretty but practical??) Then just numbers and red line is another color of light depending on choice of digital read out and face color. 4th I am mounting it next to the cruise switch under where cassette door used to be. 5th Why does everyone seem to buy Barons or H-D ones with all these choices. Is it mounting options?? I'm not a tach guy never mounted one in a vehical. Just used them for work.Thank you in advance..............Ron

A radiator guard is a must have, I have some pretty good dents in mine and I like how yours looks like it will protect the radiator. I can tell you I have gone through death valley in August on the bike after I moved here and can say I will not do it again. Thought I would take a short cut home at night it should not be that hot. LOL Death valley even at night my temp gauge was running high and the fan I don't think shut off and it was a lot of heat blowing through the bike. It would be nice in the fall and winter if all that heat would keep my legs worm coming off the radiator like it does in the summer. LOL

Don't really think I'm a dunderhead but was giving a honest opinion. Never any need for name calling for observations. I truly hope it works out and it will be a real valuable alternative for allot of us.

Thanks Brad for posting this page. I set around talking to my MARINE friends all the time. Last night we had a discussion about the young men and women in today's military branches and how when we were in, we only had to do a 13 month tour and If you reuped, you may have had to go back and if you did it was more then likely in the rear with the gear. I know of several young MARINES who have done 2 tours in 4 years. One of the young Staff Sargent's I know has had 2 tours in Iraq and 2 tours in Afghanistan and there sending him back to Afghanistan again. I truly feel for these young men and women. The sad thing is it is all politics now by people (IMO) who have no military background what so ever and do not like the military. Like these young men and women I truly LOVE my COUNTRY & CORPS. I truly dislike our elected officials. Thanks again for HONORING those who have served.......Ron

Your a lucky man like Tx2Sturgis said I to had mine hit 600 miles from home. Woke up and went out to see it on its side and side driving light and bag rail & trunk mount broke. No one took responsibility and no one even let me know about it. A beautiful summer night with a 3/4 moon. The only good thing was I did get a good nights sleep. You are a lucky man that she reported it. If you think about it-rain = noise, night = hard to see, Late = no 1 around. She could of easily of drove off and you would of had a great nights sleep. But come morning would of been shocked and no one to take responsibility. Just be glad you were not on it.

Harley Saddlebag Top Rails
kantornado replied to Hotrod's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I to have the Harley bag rails on my 02. I like how they look I just put the left rail on my right bag and the right rail on the left bag. hope this helps take a look at my pics. -
I have had mine for about 3 weeks now and can tell you I HATE IT. "BUT" and its a big one. The dark circles around my eyes are going away, I am not constantly getting up to PEEE. I am finely getting a good nights sleep. So no matter what, the CPAP is part of my life now. Just to not constantly get up to PEEE is a great feeling. You guys that quit using yours I don't understand it, but its your life and you can make it as short as you want. My Doc said it would be unlikely if I would see my grand kids graduate from high school. Probably wont anyway but at least I have a shot now...Ron

I can go up to 3 weeks on a small scale disaster. But if it is a catastrophic event and we do survive. It will be interesting to see what happens. I seen entire cities wiped out in the videos of the flood in Japan. People trying to flee never made it, you see them getting wiped out. There under ground bunkers on hill tops did nothing but pool the water. Large crevasses opened and swallowed up the hillsides. If we are lucky we might survive with the clothes on our back. So I figure aside from major Earth Quake, Flood, Volcano, or Meteor we are pretty good..... but never enough ammo.. That's why in case of a catastrophic event I would forget the grocery store and hit the military ammo dump first a S.A.W comes in pretty handy and lots of cool ordinance. the military will be all out trying to save the city dwellers as per the disaster plan. Just a thought you all might consider....Ron:cool10:

1st trip to Sturgis S.D. was in 77, went there 27 more times in a row. Rode there every time but as I got older it was harder and 600 mile days got more tiring. Last time was 08 and yes we motor homed it and loved it. Take the motorhome you will enjoy it more and you can switch up driving when you both get tired and don't let the people who will give you crap make you feel bad.(used to give guys crap myself being young and self important) Enjoy the trip, I always had a great time there and met some long lasting friends, sorry to say most are not with us anymore. Taking lots of pic's is a must. I have all the picture's in a album as a coffee table book. I liked Sturgis a lot more in the 70's then in 2008 because it went so politically correct. But there are great sights and lots of vendors as well as miles of smiles. Just remember you will have more nuts, drunks, fighters, liars, cheats, low life in one place then you will see any ware. BUT there is also some of the most generous, hart warming, honest and noble people in the world and they come from all over. Not only will you contend with traffic but Deer, Elk, Buffalo in the parks just to mention some more wild life. Riding at night can be a challenge but just don't go as fast. You will have a great time and create some lasting memories. When my kids hit the old age of 13 I took each one there as a trip with Dad each and everyone loved there experience. My son really liked the half naked ladies and we bonded really well. My girls, I had to watch like a hawk cause they to liked the half necked men and being asked to show some body parts (you know what I mean). They all only went 1 time but it created a fond memory for all. My son loved the black hills so much he moved to Rapid after collage and says he will never move. Everyone should give it a try at least 1 time. See all you can and bring a bank wad. Went there with just enough to get their buy a T and come home. It was best with a 5K budget. JUST SAYING........Have fun above all....Ron

Clutch Question
kantornado replied to kantornado's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks all who posted. I did it 2 years ago and the fluid still looks new and is still full. That is why I thought it was something else. It was shifting hard today and the clutch even seamed to of stuck again. I will drain all fluids again and flush it out Thanks again.....Ron -
I was out on a ride yesterday, went about 200 miles and the clutch seamed to of stayed engaged when I stopped. I started back home and for a couple of miles it was as if I had no clutch, Then it was working fine the rest of the day. Went out today and no problem. I have never encountered this before. Any suggestions.....Ron
