Squeeze: UH-NO But thank you anyway. I will just have to remember fondly.....Ron
-
Squeeze I pulled that song up and took a listen and your right. It is kinda bad, but the German in me relates and reminded me of all the music my Grandmother listened too.:rotf: You guys have some different tastes that's for sure. I kinda like the songs and artist you all named with one exception YUKKO OH-NO. You all hit the nail on the head. Anything by her is nasty....................Ron

I tried one of them jell pads and it really did not do much in the way of making it more comfy. One of the guys I know put un air bladder in his so he could adjust the seat cushion and he says its great. We make it to a rally out here I hope there's a vendor who sells them. Saw one a few years ago at a rally in Iowa, but owned my first GEN and did not want to put that kinda money into it. I know the seat on this 02 is real comfy for a guy who hits the scale at say 200 but I'm at 340 and there is not allot of wiggle room, But the seat is still way more comfortable then my 1st gen was.......................................Ron

So the seat BEER30 was bigger for you also?? It really needed the studs on the sides of the seat, YAMMY saving a lot of money on that one. Who on our site does seat modifications. I would like wider & softer for my little butt.:rotf:.........................Ron

Today I went out for a ride and stopped by a Yammy dealer. I sat on a 08 and the bike seamed smaller to me then my 02. But that aside the seat seamed like it was wider and a little taller (fit my large posterior just fine) and the bike seamed to set lower. I thought this phenomenon a little odd, but the seat was comfy. Any of you notice this or am I just the only one???.........Ron

Not a typo, you did read correctly about 1200 on the ride. Not leaving all at once but arriving at the same destination between 2pm and 4pm. They started serving dinner at 3pm and live music started at 1pm. The article pretty much spells it out.....................Ron

We went out with about 1200 other riders on a ride 02-23-08 called the BORDELLO RUN. http://www.pahrumpvalleytimes.com/2008/Feb-15-Fri-2008/news/19751622.html We mist a couple runs in January and there will be one every Saturday from now on if we choose to go. It was about a 200 miler with stops at 3 famous bordello's in Pahrump,NV. We had a blast and met some pretty good people. Many different brands of bikes, but still a lot of HD's. Talked to a guy on a 07 VENTURE and told him of the site and gave him the Addy and saw him pitch the paper in the trash.(kinda irritated me) but to each there own. The only other thing that irritated us was their was only 500 patches to the first 500 and no pins and one color of T-shirt (red Long sleeve) but the ride was great and the steak dinner was good and we got to see the world famous Chicken Ranch and they have daily specials. The riding is why we moved to the warmer climate and with temps in the 70's this week we have no regrets..........................Ron

Maybe this should be saved somewhere and people can axcess it better?? I could copy and paste left & right and make another thread..........................Ron

Same lights I put on mine. They work great too!! One thing though the chrome ring on the front will vibrate loose. I lost the chrome ring this weekend and went back to WM and bought another set so I have spare parts.(in case they do away with them) I am going to drill a small hole on the bottom and put a sheet screw in it. Right now I have loc-tite on the inside and it will hold for awhile but is not a sure fix.................................Ron

This is from a previous post I did last year. I just put the Kuryakyn Grips on my 02 and here is what I did. 1st. Pulled end weights off and took old grips off. 2nd. Took allen end screws and rubber out of new grips and wrapped chrome with masking tape. Machined out the hole on back of Kuryakyn Grips to .860 thousandths to fit end weights. 3rd. Put rubber back in grips and put left side on with end weight and tightened.(slid right on) 4th. Right grip would not go on (throttle to tight-rubber would fold up) Trimmed .120 thousandths off of throttle with Dremel tool. 5th. Used liquid soap to help slip grip on. 6th. Made a bushing out of aluminum .760 thousandths O.D /.620 thousandths I.D /.670 thousandths Long that threaded itself on throttle weight to give .040 thousandths clearance so throttle would rock back on its own. Then thread weight on right side and your done. That is how I got mine on or they would not fit. After I started I wondered if I should of, but they look great and I like the Throttle weights that the VENTURE has. Hope this helps I know I should of took pictures but forgot til I had already finished. All the dimensions are there and step by step instructions...................................... .......Ron Now the pictures above are from the left side and I will pull my right side and take pictures of the right (throttle side) so you can see the bushing and it really is easy to do and the weight tightens up real tight and throttle rocks back real nice.........................Ron O.K. just finished uploading pictures of throttle side, Finger pointing in direction to twist off weight. You don't need to be as technical as I was just a piece of aluminum tubing ( or copper or ??)that slides over threaded end and is long enough to give you throttle play. The measurements are there and it works really swell on my 02. I used a plumbing tube cutter to cut the aluminum. Hope this helps you guys out........Ron 1. Direction to twist of throttle side (finger pointing) 2 & 3. Aluminum tube and how it slips over shaft. 4 & 5. end of handlebar and threads 6. Gap in between throttle and weight to show how far in it goes, theres lots of threads.

Taking old grips off and adding the Kuryakin grips are pretty easy. The guys gave a pretty good description of how to get the old grips off. Here are some pictures I took to kinda help out a little. I already have mine on but it gives a idea and the direction you will need to turn the weight. (my finger pointing) I wished you where closer we could of did it together and taken pictures to post here for the next person. When I took my old grips off I did not take the end piece off with a screwdriver. I used a rubber oil filter remover and strapped it on the weight and twisted toward the fairing and it started spinning off. The 3rd pic is of the threaded end that the weight goes into. If you would like to ad the weights to the end of your handle bars, That is a little more involved, but can be done................Ron 1. Direction of twist on end weight finger points in direction. 2. twisting weight off 3. look at threads on end of handle bar 4 to 8. twisting grip of L to R while pulling 9 & 10 sliding new grip on

Not willing to give up
kantornado replied to Kurt827's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You have a real sweet looking scoot and it looks new. When a picture is taken and the paint reflects the floorboards on the body its new. Would love to see it in the sunshine I bet its a beauty. If you spend 4k on that bike you still got a bargain and with all the help you will get on this sight its like a "mechanic in a box" and there's nothin wrong with that..........................Ron -

After doing all you have done I would VENTURE to say it just might be your electronic box. Mine started doing what yours is doing and I about replaced everything on my 1st GEN (carb rebuild too!!) and it came down to that electronic box. It regulates the carbs and fires your cylinders and if its got a problem the bike responds in all the same manner as your speaking. Not choking, misfireing, ruff idle, flooding 1 or 2 cylinders others dry,not enough power. Anyway that is where I would check now because you have taken care of everything else. Hopefully one of the members with the year you have can help you out. I know when I replaced my box with a new one my 1st GEN ran like a striped ape. You will really need to hold on to the handle bars......Ron -
Klaus its O.K if you and Denise show up late, we will be there awhile. Beer30 if you happen this way again, give a shout, I would like to meet you. Rich99 we are gonna miss you west coasters, but hope to be able to meet you all at some of the up coming events. We have 1 more day to the big event at Steiner's and hope all of you that are settin on the fence can make it.......................Ron
