We made it back from Laughlin and had a great time. I only saw 1 VENTURE and it was going the other way. Lots of beautiful bikes and colorful people and new stuff for the bike. Took a few pictures but no HOT BABES sorry!! Got a picture of the new Victory nice bike and saw one that passed us going down the road and it looked pretty cool. The NAVIGATOR did not like how she sat on the bike and it was hard for her to get off of it. The sales guy that took the pictures is gonna let me take one or a test ride. It was a good time and look forward to the next one. I have a great looking hat and lapel pin.................Ron

That makes good sense to me. I used to work for CNW RR out of Chicago as a bridge builder. The crew was just looking out for the Brotherhood of Maintenance of way workers and supplying them with job security. It will cost millions to rebuild the bridge and look at all the people who get to go to work. The investigators, photographers, crane operators, iron workers, fire, police, track crews, spike crews, engineers, architects, surveyors, train crews, bridge crews, insurance companies. Man the list just gos on and on............................Ron:cool10:

I am bummed out I thought I had a VENTURERIDER patch and I can not find it. Found VENTURER patch and 2 pins but no VENTURERIDER,(wuz up wit dat) Was going to have it sown on my vest at the Laughlin River Run tomorrow. I am just going to have to look in boxes in the storage unit or maybe its still in Minnesota. We hate having our junk all over the place. OH well I will get happy in the same clothes I have gotten bummed in. I will be in LAUGHLIN tomorrow if their are any members here going to be there let me know and we can meet up. LRR started on Wednesday and ends Sunday. Yesterday was my 1st time for the run. Its kinda neat in a biker sorta way. Lots of great vender's and more of them then at STURGIS. The women they hire for the DEMOS are HOT, HOT, HOT I mean "SMOKIN HOT". I have seen some good looking people at other rally's but these women are SMOKIN. I will post pictures on Sunday when I get back. But not of the eye candy PG you know. I did not make it to the Arizona side and hope to Saturday if not there is always next year. Thanks for the listen.........................Ron

Shifting Question
kantornado replied to kantornado's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Dan & RR great ideas and I will try the clutch fluid today. Like I said this is the first time I have ever had a bike do this. Try to shift up and nothing happens and brake fluid was not not the first on my list I figured it was linkage. You guys are the best. Dan said: Hey Ron FreeBird's M-Day is closing You better get some days off and get over there. Its only 2000mil's I wished I could make it to the M-DAY for the joy of just seeing your smiling face...................Ron -
My 02 is having trouble in the shifting department. Going into 3rd it is like I hit a dead spot where it will not shift to 3rd out of 2nd. Shifter will not go up into 3rd I can down shift back to 2nd then it will go to 3rd and sometimes I have to do it a couple times. Needless to say it is IRRITATING to say the least. Anyone else have this problem or know what it is. I have never encountered this before I pull the clutch in and hit 2nd then try for 3rd and the shifter will not go up no matter how hard I try. THANKS in ADVANCE.................................Ron

Nice shot CLIFFNO350, So whats next???.............................Ron

Need to get a little creative. Park the bike make sure your in the mirror of the bike and take the shot. You took a good picture but you did not get the bike in the picture or yourself. Try again...................Ron

One other thing to consider. Do you have a back rest?? If I lean back for some reason the pressure of the forks on the bottom of backrest going over the wires knocks the radio out. It does it on mine and I tried relocating the wires but it still does it. I just don't lean back hard.......................................Ron

O.K. here is the pretty red KW drivers in the cab and I figured I should get a pic of a PETERBUILT just for fun. If you look in the right mirror you can see my beautiful face:rotf: Kinda sorta. The next challenge if you dare will be. YOU,YOUR BIKE & a TRAIN going by on a lonely stretch of road.

I have used GIECO for 27 years and only filed 1 claim. They payed within 4 days and did not raise my rates. Insuring my 83 in 1985 was 105.00 year full coverage. Moving from Colorado to MN in 1989 my rates went up 40 bucks. The rate went down over time and stopped at 73.00 a year on my 83 with just liability. I bought the 02 in 06 and my rate for full coverage went up to a whopping 116.00 a year full coverage and for a dollar I insured all the accessories for a total of 117.00 a year. Moving to VEGAS was costly, my motorcycle insurance went up to 237.00 a year. I figure its not a bad deal because I can actually ride all year long. There reason for the jump was the amount of bad drivers and the congestion as well as theft. I like GIECO and always have checked them against other carriers and there always lowest for me. They make me feel all worm and fuzzy when I see what some other people pay...........................Ron

I WON ,I WON O.K what I win:rotf: You got a great deal on the bike. Now take that 5k you saved and buy SAFETY CHROME. O.K new seat first after all it is about comfort........Ron

I agree with what TEXAS2STURGIS said, you do those first and then its, safety CHROME,CHROME,CHROME and after the tires ware out get AVONS you wont regret it......................................................Ron:cool10:

The NAVIGATOR got the IPOD nano 4GB. Its great for putting in your shirt pocket or ladies unmentionable holders while at work or in the car. Not worth beans on the bike. To small and hard to hit the button, vibration from road makes your fingers jump up and down................Ron

OH MAN!! Hit a nerve I think with someone. My quote "I did'nt know the 2nd GEN'S could do that cause there so heavy and would never try to bring her off the ground in fear of ripping the front end out. end quote" My Quote "I did'nt know the 2nd GEN'S could do that"end quote Because I was in 3rd going to 2nd. I know it will do it in 1st. My 1st GEN I could bring her up in 1st and 2nd no problem. I never tried 3rd but am sure it would of came up if I stood up and leaned back while hitting the throttle. The quote was "Man this is a sweet bike and the HD riders where impressed they did'nt think a big bike could do that." end quote Now I did not go into the whole conversation that we all had but I assured them it could be done. As for me I was in 3rd gear at about 45mph dropped her in to 2nd and twisted the throttle and she came up about 3 or so inches. Like I said it was a little unexpected. Been to Sturgis week 32 times 27 years of that in a row. Been to the HD drags, more times then I care to remember as well as the hill climbs and was there when it was cool to pull wheelies and burn outs on main while having an adult beverage while watching the babes bared there tops. The RAT'S HOLE was the place to be and the parties at Buffalo chip were unplanned and none scripted as well as unbelievable. Just thought I would share a unexpected moment and it was unexpected and pretty cool and would not recommend bringing the front end up. Replacing the fork seals would not be fun but its all the other things that can happen or go wrong..............................................Ron

Today 04-12-08 THE NAVIGATOR and I were out riding with a group on a charity run and I was in 3rd gear going about 45mph and needed more power for a swift maneuver and kicked my big 2nd GEN into 2nd and twisted the throttle, Well the front end came off the ground and shocked the heck out of me and THE NAVIGATOR as well as the guy and his kid on the tour glide classic next to us. I did'nt know the 2nd GEN'S could do that cause there so heavy and would never try to bring her off the ground in fear of ripping the front end out. But she came down gentle and we were off to the races when I hit 3rd gear.. Man this is a sweet bike and the HD riders where impressed they did'nt think a big bike could do that. Thought I would share this info. What a beautiful day it was today.........................................Ron

The NAVIGATOR and I where on a bike trip to meet our bike group the first time neither had our kids WHOOOHOO for a weekend of riding, camping and a little gambling on July 21,1995. Lots of "T" storms in the Minneapolis area as we were heading west on highway 395 out of the city's 2 tornado's came down out of the sky 1 to our left and the other on the right. It was one of the coolest things we had ever seen and I could write a hole page about what we saw and what it was like. That same night we hit a deer just to the east of Gibon,MN 8 miles from the camp site and I was airlifted to HCMC that was to say a very memorable night...........Ron

I still have my (JOHN WAYNE) but I quite carrying it in my pocket for all the reasons above. Its with my dog tags in my dresser. Just can't seem to get rid of it. Got it in boot camp and never let it go. OHH I have had others but the first one I just couldn't throw out......................Ron

we have 2 twin air mattresses with a 12 volt air pump, 2 sheet sets. 2 pillow cases,2 blankets, 2 room tent, 4 chairs and all the other junk we take and a cooler. Don't get a queen or king for the both of you to sleep on. We tried that at first and that lasted 1 summer and that was it. If 1 moves the other knows it. 2 twin beds work out great. The Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Express Air Bed is what we have. KBAY said it right KOA or state camp ground or there is always VENTURERIDER members who may let you pitch a tent for a night. ( never hurts to ask).....................Ron

Cooler Rack for my trailer - Recommendations
kantornado replied to petekadish's topic in Watering Hole
My Coleman cooler I bought at a garage sale for 5 bucks angle iron at a junk yard 0 bucks, friend welded it up 0 bucks added turn buckles 9 bucks so 14 bucks total. would of been no big deal at the time to of welded up a frame and made it duel purpose. I could of used it on the run to day. we went on Bloodrun 2008 this morning and a fun run it was. petekadish your post was really cool and I like options. I see where this versatile rack could also be used to haul the NAVIGATORS and my golf clubs...........................Ron -
Cooler Rack for my trailer - Recommendations
kantornado replied to petekadish's topic in Watering Hole
Pulling a trailer or adding a cooler rack is like anything else in life. It is what someone wants or think they need and offer up excuses for all the different scenarios. I was having some fun with you guys and did not mean to ruffle feathers. I personally like his idea and offered my opinion on how to make it removable so he could use it on the trailer hitch of the bike. I also gave a scenario of why those of us who have them and why in a joking half hearted manner we use a cooler. Having some fun with body functions was kinda fun on my part but did not realize I ruffled a few feathers. I see how sensitive a subject it can be about trailers and coolers...........Ron
