  1. I am gonna sue the makers of canned spray foam for not putting in bold letters that it should not be used bye idiots. I rewired my trailer to head to Vogel and the flex conduit they used was held in place with spray foam, well after running the wires I picked up a can to reset the wires and I thought I would just use my fingers to spread it out, did I mention I was on my back, so now I have spray foam all over my hands and I rolled in some that dripped on the driveway ( did I mention this stuff takes hair off better than wax) now I have hairless spots on my arms and foam on my fingers I can't get off. If only I had a brain.
  2. I work for a local govt and run a wastewater treatment plant and the government says it is legal to give me random pee tests to keep my job so if you want to suck off of my hard earned taxes then it should be legal to give them pee tests.

    Tires

Shinko's are the worst made tires and should be outlawed by the DOT.
  8. I hope to be riding there from Fla if I can get the brake light wiring figured out on my bike. I hope to meet you there. Tom
  9. I would have to put the cones closer together for my 86, Harley's don't turn as well....
  10. The other day while I had time off I was getting my 86 ready to go on the trip and noticed the front brake signal was not working but the back brake was so OK it is an 86 so I went on line and ordered another one. Today I went to go for a ride to my dads and the back brake lights were not working, went through all the fuses and they were OK so I went for a little ride turned on the cruise control and tapped on the front and back brakes and they shut off the cruise which tells me both switches work, now is there some kind of brake module ? I start m y 12 hr nights today so I can't mess with the bike for a couple of weeks if anyone has an idea I would appreciate it.
  11. I work rotating 12hr shifts so this week I had days off and worked on the bike and trailer, The trailer needed new tires and the wiring for the lights fixed so I sweated my butt off and fixed everything took it for a test ride and everything seems to work fine. I need a sweat pad for my butt on these hot days. I am going to make a pvc grate for the bottom of the cooler so my food doesn't swim in water while I ride. I think the trailer is bigger than the bike, I am ready for my vacation.
  12. This was my first gen when I drove the BRP I put a small 2 man tent with my sleeping bag and the trunk rack and put a sissy bar travel bag on my back rest and used a folding cooler that I would store under the bag until I camped, then I would go get food and drink for dinner after I set up camp and in the hard bags I stored everything else. Now I bought a trailer to make things a little easier.
  13. I live in Florida and it is hot so I ride in shorts and a t shirt, I had a bad accident on a bike years ago and the only thing that saved me was my helmet so when I see Harley guy's look at me and say how I can ride with shorts and they have no helmet on I just laugh.
  14. Dates on a tire are a bunch of bull if they are not dry rotted they are fine in 2000 I drove from Mass up through Canada to Sturgis, Yellowstone and Glacier national parks and back on my 79 XS1100 with 15 y/o tires that were like new, I never even had to put air in them until they went bald, my front tire on my bike now was made in 03 but is new and I have no worries about riding cross country with it. In all my years of riding (30+) I have never had a flat on the road with tires over 6 years old.
  15. I had the same problem I just drilled out the head on both screws took off the cap then used vise grips to unscrew the rest from the body, then I put stainless in there. But someone here might have a better solution.
  16. Did the dog come with it ? if so what a buy...

  21. I have Butler cup holder on my 86 VR and love it I have no probs with Clarence and I know the Butler people have worked out any clearance issues with the newer models.
  22. • Takes the technology of both the K291T and the K491 Elite G/T a generation beyond • Both front and rear sizes feature a computer optimized tread pattern which provide dramatic improvements in wet-road performance • Three-ply polyester carcasses are reinforced with two fiberglass belts • Tires deliver 50% more rear tire mileage compared to the K291T • Tube/tubeless construction Does anyone have any experience with these tires they have them in my size for my 86.
  23. Welcome to the site I am sure someone can help you here it is a wealth of knowledge. Tom

  25. I have smoked and brined a lot of things but this brine for a turkey breast bye far is the best I have used if you like sweet things. In a 2 gallon ziplock bag in a pot put 1 5-7lb turkey breast 1 gal water, 1 cup salt, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, 1 tbls Rosemary, thyme and allspice, 1/8th cup molasses, white wine and Worcestershire sauce then brine for 12 hrs and smoke with apple wood at the end I put corn on the cob on the grill.
