  4. Down here in Fl in the summer the ABS plastic would get all flimsy and I couldn't keep the lid up on the backpacker that is one of the main reasons for changing it. Tom
  5. I also have many parts for a 1st gen Venture that I no longer need if anyone needs something just ask and I will see if I have it all I ask is shipping. Tom
  6. Some people here saw my tag along at Vogel it was a big backpacker that was made to be towed behind a car but rode well behind the Venture. I wanted to make it smaller plus when it got hot out the ABS plastic got flimsy so I bought a car top carrier for a whole 10$ then I had to modify the frame and mount and wire the lights. I use the backpacker to store my fire wood now. Tom
  7. I got the bike back together for the most part I have to tap the screws for the left mirror but it felt good to get her running and take it for a little ride. If you will notice besides the paint I powder coated the front wheel and the passengers floor boards, I polished everything I could while it was apart. I think it came out looking good. Here are some before and after pics. Tom
  8. Damn I could have saved a bundle if you would have found him a few weeks ago....
  9. It is supposed to be a true Maroon but came out lighter than I thought and it cost 1200$ with me taking it apart but doing no prep, it is a base coat clear coat and color sanded and polished.
  10. I finally got the plastics back from paint it looks different from the chip I looked at but still looks good and it looks better in the sun with the metalic in it. I still have work to do on the bike before I can put them on, the only custom thing I did was there was an ugly emblem on the front fender and had the holes filled and had and airbrushed V that Voyager uses I think it came out nice. People that have Kawi Voyagers know this emblem.
  11. I don't know if I want to go back to GA !!!!!

  14. I hope my bike parts will be painted and put back on for bike week and my plan is to tow it behind the motorhome and camp at the Cabbage Patch March 9th-12th and bring plenty of fire wood so if anyone wants to go I have space for a couple of people if they want a cheap and fun place to stay. This is the link to the Cabbage Patch http://www.cabbagepatchbar.com/index2.html Tom
  15. I have the Voyager stripped down and sending it to paint and will take more pic's when I get more work done on it. If you think a first Gen Venture has a lot of plastic don't buy a Voyager,I have parts and pieces every were now I miss my Venture. Tom
  16. I am having the bike painted so when it is done I will have before and after pics.
  17. I had my front rim powder coated and put new bearings in it I also painted the rotors to match I think it came out darn good.
  18. From the pics I don't see any vents I would have a louvered vent with a screen on one end and another one with a fan on the other that would take care of the humidity I would think.
  19. I can do that on my Voyager....
