engine idle
MidlifeVenture replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
When I had the 600 mile done they over tightened the cable on the throttle backed it off(the thumb nut at the throttle) and the speed drooped almost as if it was sticking. Then had to kick up the idle a little a small button size knob by your right thigh when sitting on the bike. -
Should still see the doctor ASAP it may have affected your heart and may not hit till some time later!! I know it only happens in the safety video but please get checked.

MidlifeVenture replied to MidlifeVenture's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The oil change will come ASAP that can be done cheaply its all the other stuff on the list that they supposedly check that they charge hundreds of dollars for, that Im questioning. Thanks I did check the paper copy and it was 4000 I would never do 8000 I was just surprised to see that recommended. -
4000 mile check?
MidlifeVenture replied to MidlifeVenture's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
http://www.starmotorcycles.com/assets/schedules/2007/07_RoyalStarVenture_PM_LIT-11616-12-60_492.pdf came from my yamaha on there web sight. -
Just hit the 4000 mile mark and really can not afford to go see the stealer for this service so I pulled up the service chart and was surprised to see that they recommend 8000 miles on an oil change. So is there any thing critical on the 4000 mile check or do I hang my key for the year and hope I get back to working a 40 Hr week by next season.

Banging noise in fairing
MidlifeVenture replied to sldunker's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
On mine the chrome piece or plastic trim below the wind shield will make a clunk when I hit a bump it dosn't hold down tight. If I reach around the window and hold it no noise. -
Ipod or mp3 works great.

Thanks what I noticed last night if I jack it up and set it down the tire sits flat drive it down the street come back and check the - camber is back so I,m guessing the bushing are worn out. It's a 2004 AWD style its. I'm going to try and see in the light if I can see where the movement is coming from in the light. Still not looking good to me. Strut ataches to the lower control arm with one pivot bolt.

"Scotch-Lock" removal
MidlifeVenture replied to bendtdj's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
That will work if it did not cut any strands of the wire I personally hate scotch locks and would cut the damaged area solder and heat shrink them .- 4 replies

Any one know how to adjust the camber on the rear wheels of a Mitsubishi Outlander we have had it done at the shop but end up with a ton of - camber where the tire leans in at the top and just totally eats the inside edge of the tire. I just can't tell if the camber is adjusted by strut location or one of the control arms. there is a small control arm just in front of the rear drive shaft that looks to have a oblong bolt in it but not sure if this would adjust rear camber. I just can't take it in right now and would like to give a good bit of + camber to ride on the other side of the tire till i can deal with it the right way. Any help would be appreciated greatly

Being left outside can cause havoc on all electrical connections so make sure all lights and switches horn all work before taking off, try cruise control (it doesn't work at low speed) You will see if the radio works but it seems to be sealed.
