Ok since some of you like ghost tours check out this site. http://www.trans-alleghenylunaticasylum.com/ This old hospital is located about 30 min. from where the WV SKID IN will be based at. So if you like ghost tours come early to the WV Skid In and check out the Weston State Hospital as the locals know it. The building is big and beautiful. They say it is the largest hand cut masonary stone building in Northern America. Ghost Hunters did a show there.

You girls game? I think chrome, pink, hot pink, red, and black. Maybe a sexy dress. Leathers. Bikini. Dang which one. Those all sound good. Maintance day. Come prepared. Alot of nice ventures and all together to shoot the photos. :photographing:We'll make them a 2010 calender they'll never forget. Who is in? Plus we will have lost weight. Good time to do it.

Thanks Squidley. I couldn't agree more. We want a healthly weight loss that everyone can help raise money but also be able to keep the weigh off. I myself set my goal so that if I would lose a pound a week than I would meet my goal. I know some weeks may lose more and than that some weeks none at all. I done that the first time I lost the weight and was able to keep it all off for 2 years before putting any additional weight back on. I will admit that I starting back to eating the things that I should not have and quit walking like I had been. While you are dieting listen to your body to what works and what does not. Some foods are like a trigger they make you want more and more. Yes Exercise. I know I hate that word too. I personnally plan on trying to up my walking. When I can again start swimming. I can't do jogging or running because I have a weak ankle, not to flexible. We can do it we just have to set our minds that we are going to do it. Thanks Ponch sounds like a good way to start.

Time for a Bump. How is everyone doing? Anyone need some help with ideas, support, etc? I know the weekends are the hardest for me. I have a habit of eating more on the weekends. We can help each other. Guess I need to go to the chat room instead of eating. Too cold outside:cold: got to -2 last night. Too cold to do anything outside. ok good luck with your weekend

There are ways. I had Cheesecake pudding mixed with cream cheese last week just didn't have a crust yum yum Sugarfree Still lost weight. But I could have made a crust out of crushed nuts. There are recipes out there. As for the carrot sticks I would just make sure I ate them with a sour cream based dip. The dairy helps with the insulin levels. By the way something else I learned from my daughter Low fat Items usually have more sodium. So if you are watching your sodium check your labels. WE CAN DO IT.

Yes Cindy you can get headaches until your body adjusts to the new way of eating. Your body gets addicted to the sugar and craves it just like a caffine addiction. Same thing when you tried the Atkins before your body needed time to adjust. Sometimes people will feel like a bad case of the flu but no fever. It is the body wanting the item you are cutting out (its like a drug to the body) I have read different diets (Atkins, South Beach, GI, etc.) and almost all says that we need to cut the sugar and refined products (they need to be limited) I have started to believe that we need to start eating like the old days. Vegetables, Fruit, Meat, Dairy, Whole wheat flours, cornmeal. I think cakes, pies, candy was for special occasions and sundays, not every day. Most of the people that died early back than died of things that can be treated today. Alot of people lived a long long time 70's, 80's,90's and some 100's. Some people say dont do Atkins I just know that it worked for me the first time. I did not do it as strict as the book says and still lost 65lb. I did it in one year. Before I started weighed over 200 lb wore a tight size 20 had cholesterol levels of 235-285. Went to a size 6-8 cholesterol level of 200 and weighed between 132-137 all the time. Kept all the weight off for about 2 years than started slowly eating the things that I should not have started (like cakes, pastries, candy, potatoes, corn, peas, white bread). I have found out my body is very carb sensitive. I gained 30lb back (only about half). Now I know and will have to eat accordingly when I get my weigh back off. Have been doing alot of thinking about how to eat later and what to eat. I am not telling anyone how they are to diet. You have to find a plan that works for you. Everyone is different. What may work for one will not work for another. Just don't quit. You have a large support group here and we will be there for you. There are so many plans (South Beach, Atkins, Weigh Watchers, mediterranean diet, Glycemic Index, NutriSystem, Mayo Clinic, Best Life Diet, DietWatch, Diet.com. If one don't work try another after a few weeks. But give your body time to adjust to the diet. ONE IS FOR YOU. YOU CAN DO IT. :clap2:

I think we will have a great support group here. We are a family and we care about each other. I think we all can make our goals just don't quit. If one method isn't working try a different one. The hardest part is those 1st two weeks. We all are trying for the better of ourselves, for family, to live longer, and to help raise money for a important cause. But we cannot let it end on MD just because we have weigh in. We have to maintain it after MD. We will be there for each other throughout. :clap2:Let's do it. So what if we are not all doing the same type of weigh loss plan. If you are needing ideas post them. We as family will help find the answers. Bob you said you are hungry. What type of plan are you doing? Maybe we can give you ideas for snacks. If you have diabetes let us know so we can look for carb counts and sugar grams when asking for ideas, recipes, etc. Also if you need low fat, low sodium, etc.

Roadkill, maybe this will help here is a link to a site that are 1 point snacks http://www.counselingseattle.com/ww/1.htm Cindy, Have a crossbow they are nice I just need to get mine where I can use it and start walking when the weather is nice. Bill, you are right I lost the first time on Atkins. I have also looked at the South Beach. Both are simular. Think I will maybe mix them up some. We will see. Good luck we are here to help each other for two goals our health and St Judes.

Ok time for a thread on How we are doing. What plan are you trying? Tips? Recipes? Ideas? etc. I will start out by saying I am going low-carb. I know that my body does not do well with alot of carbs. Hypothyroid will make it harder. Hopefully my meds are right or near right. I will be digging out my low carb recipes that I tryed when I lost the extra weight before. At least I kept most of the weight off that I lost 5 years ago(65lb). I only gained less than half back. Just think I work in a store full of junk food. So far so good I think. Only snacks I would allow myself this week at the store was pizza flavored pork rinds, beef sticks, protein bars. Good Luck everyone. Yes Cindy you seem to want the things you can't have. If you can do without for 2 weeks than you have a good start. But there are recipes out there that help when you really crave something. Check on the forums for the type plan you are using. I will be making my low carb pizza. No crust. Sugarfree cheesecakes etc. PM me if anyone needs those type recipes. Yes it can be done. We can lose this weight. I attacted a photo from around 2000 I was that big until 2003 when I decided NO MORE. My health is more important.

ok spear help some of us. You said something about using dots on a photo in the Canon forum. Can you post one that has the dots that help train the eyes. PLEASE. Either that or some of us just can't do it. Cool photos anyway you go. Going to show them to my son (venturepirate) he is 10 and taking photography as a 4-H project. What kind of computer programs can you make those type photos with? Thought it would be cool for his project if he could try and make one.
