BuddyRich, Thanks for the imput. Big Tom needs a talking to. He quit with me back in May and has started up again. Not as bad as before...but never the less...smoking. HELP!

I am curious to know how many of our members have been smokers once in their lives and have since quit....due to health reasons or because it is not socially acceptable any longer. Watching old movies or re-runs of all the shows we watched in the 50's and 60's always portrays people smoking. Especially the old sitcoms. Everyone smoked. Lucy and Ricky...Dick Van Dyke...Ward Cleaver etc. etc. etc. I quit smoking in May, 08 and although I am very proud of myself...I miss it. What are you're thoughts?

Hi Guys! Thought I'd keep you posted on our weight loss....to date, Big Tom is 13lbs. lighter...(in just one week...I hate him...) and me...just 2.2lbs..yes.. .2, every ounce counts. Weight Watchers seems to work best for us. You don't feel like you're dieting...just eating healthy and limiting portions. We are never hungry....which is a big plus, and we don't feel like we are begrudging ourselves of anything. But, everyone needs to find what works for them. Good Luck Every One!!!

Just wanted to drop a line and thank everyone for all your well wishes. Feeling a little better today. Big Tom has been wonderful taking care of me. (he made me say that) lol I will rest tonight and hopefully by tomorrow.... be back to raise some cane with the tots. lol

Cinderella, Thanks! I will take care of him. I hope Dale starts feeling better...maybe when the meds kick in. The coughing seems to linger. Did he get a flu shot?

You read my mind.....I'm getting alot of typing in since Sunday. He is NOT a good patient. He whines...he coughs on me...and you'd think he was dying..... I just keep spraying him with Lysol.

Big Tom has been down with the flu since Sunday. Poor baby....knocked the stuffing out of him.

Thank you for the nice memories, they brought a smile to my face. Especially the part about getting home before the streelights go on. You're right....we were out all day. It makes me sad that our grandchildren couldn't experience those times. As they say....the times.... they are a changing....but is it for the better? I'm not so sure.
