  1. I had to sell her. It's like selling on of your kids. Just didn't have enough room. To many in the stable. She went to a real nice fellow in Mississippi, a ride captain in the Patriot Guard. I'll miss her. Good bye Road Star! Now I only have to keep two Ventures clean. My wife and I can use some of the money for a cruise. I can go to my sons competition in Barbados. I can keep my eye open for another great motorcycle deal.
  2. Don't know Dave. I have the Clearview XXL with the vent. If you put the vent in a medium you may not ave any room left above the vent. You may want to see if anyone out there has the medium windshield with the vent?
  3. Just to clarify. They stopped producing Midnight Ventures in 07. This repaint is an 08. I'm not real familiar with the "S" model if they have the chrome controls or on. The "S" model (not sure if the Venture has an S model or not) does have more chrome so I assume they do. They may be standard on the "S" model in 08 and 09. There were no black Ventures these to years to my knowledge. 2010 Black is the only color available but I don't know if it is a Midnight or an "S" model but I do know it has some ugly flames.
  4. :mo money::mo money:Very very nice.
  5. Hmmmmm kinda hard to see. Pictures we need pictures.
  6. I saw an add for a Harley Davidson Ultra Class CVO whatever that is. It was advertised at $36,999 . Just one of the many reasons I don't own nor do I have any desire to own a Harley. Great looking bike but no thank you.
  7. I have two 13" SlipStreamer windshields. I have been working with Bob at SlipSteamer windshields about a problem with their 13" windshield. Evidently they have some kind of communication issue with their email. For some reason they don't get some of their emails. This caused some frustration on my part while I was trying to communicate with them. At first I didn't think this company cared about their customers but I have completely changed my opinion. After establishing two way communication with them we have solved two problems with the 13" windshield. 1) first issue was packaging. The windshield came with two layers of plastic around the windshield and placed in a cardboard box. During shipping whr box rubbed a hole through both pieces of plastic and made a very faint mark on the windshield. I recommended that they take a thin piece of foam and wrap it around the windshield which they did and the second windshield arrived flawless. 2) the 13" windshields holes and slots did not line up well. After establishing two way communication I explained exactly how the holes were misaligned. Bob went out to the warehouse and measured several 13" windshields and confirmed that the two center wholes were off. Bob had the position of the two center holes moved to the correct location and the windshield holes line up perfect now. The two center holes in the SlipStreamer 13" windshield are drilled holes no slots. The other 4 holes are slots. I personally like having two drilled holes instead of one drilled hole and 5 slotted cut outs just from a safety aspect. The 13" windshield is about 5mm thick which is the standard for that size windshield I believe. After a shaky start with SlipSteamer I have come to the opinion that SlipStreamer does listen to their customers. They made two changes in the 13" windshield that I mentioned to them and I believe it is a better product now. You can buy them off ebay for around $76 for the 13" windshield and $7+change for shipping which is a bargain if you ever bought a windshield from anywhere else. If you email them and don't get an answer resend it everyday until you do. I don't know if they have got their email problem straighten out or not. Bob does not know where the emails are going. He did an email search on my email address and says the ones that I said I sent them they have no record of them. If you do get through mention to him that you have sent emails before. I think he may still need to trace down the email problem. This experience is only with the 13" windshield. If you have a different size you may not have any problem at all or you may have a different problem. Before we got our communication problem fixed I would not have recommended them to anyone. Since we have been communicating I believe they truly listen to their customer and want to make a quality product. Harry
  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Clearviews customer service sticks. Two emails 15 months later still no reply. I feel better now.
  9. I think this is it 4XY-16150-09
  10. Maybe just maybe they went overseas. Of the 1500 only 1000 went to the US. Now I have never looked into to it but I don't know what numbers Yamaha sent to the US. 1 -1000? 1- 500, 1001 - 1500? It could be any combination. I don't know if Yamaha kept a record or not?
  11. Usually that indicates not enough load. Check and make sure you do not have a burned out bulb.
  12. Doesn't sound that bad to me. But mine doesn't get bad until 60 to 65 mph. Mine is not as bad in 5th so that's where I ride most of the time. 35 to 85 mph in 5th. Mine does great unless I need to get on it then of course I have to down shift. The 424's should help but then what if you get tired of the loud exhaust all the time? Just turn the radio up. Oh... a wait, never mind. Helmet with speakers and an MP3 player in your pocket.

    Dunlop E3's

As far as I'm concerned it's only E3's for me. I love'em. Don't wait on the front to wear out. Like someone pointed out to me. All your giving up if you wait until the front wears out is poor handling, bad ride and noisy ride. Switch now and enjoy the ride.
  14. B2Dad up in Tenn. has a pair of saddlebag crash bars. He is a supper nice guy and I'm sure he will let you have them very reasonable. He does not have the reflectors though because I already asked. Just PM him if you need them.
  15. Dave man I'm glad your still with us. That's a lot of damage! Hope you have insurance to fix it. If not let me know and I'll help you find the parts. I know someone who has the saddlebag guards since he triked his bike. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Harry
  16. Hi Yamaman, I'll through in my worth. I had the old seat on my MM the one that came on the Midnight Venture until 2007. I bought a used Corbin and I love that seat. I had Rick redo my original seat and he did a great job. I can't thank him enough. It is so much better. I purchased a 2001 that came with pillow top seats. Man I'm in heaven now. I just don't see how any seat can be more comfortable the the pillow top unless I send it off to Rick and have him redo my pillow top. So I have all three seats and the pillow top is my favorite. The Corbin is the best looking. I hope this helps.
  17. In my opinion advice from an expert is always welcomed. Thanks! Harry
  18. Alright it seems that everyone wants to see what I look like. Take a good look.
  19. They list for over $19,000. $19,490 or something like that. I don't know how much you can actually buy one for though.
  20. Now this looks like my friends. $500 out the door. If my bike was one color I would have Flames like this on my bike.
  21. I'll just borrow your if you don't mind if I decide to get the I basket from you. Thanks again, Harry
  22. Now I like ghost flames but we're talking about those cheap decals Yamaha puts on the 2010 model.... makes me shiver. I don't know how many ghost flames your talking about but a friend down here has a 05 midnight and he took the outer fairing and the two lower fairing to a shop down here and he had ghost flames put on the upper fairing and the lower fairings where repainted black and all were clear coated and really looks nice. Now Ralfh took the eyebrows off and took the fairings off and took them to the shop. The shop charged him $500. I will enclose the link to the place in case your interested. http://www.ccscustoms.com/
  23. Thanks Jeff for offering the tool. Which Steve are you talking about? Steve Wagner? I'm thinking about it. Thanks again, Harry
  24. Well Jeff before I jump head long into this let me ask you a few questions. - What kind of tools are you talking about? Does it take special tools? - Is it a difficult job? - Why do you keep buying I baskets if it doesn't solve your problem? - Since you buy the I basket and it didn't fix your problem couldn't you return it to the dealer you bought if from or is it a non returnable item? Thanks for the offer. I will think about it. My whine is not to bad right now so I would hate to pay $200 and bet on a role of the dice. I would not mind the $200 if I new it would fix the problem. Especially since this basket did not fix your problem. Thanks, Harry
  25. Some people have more money than they have sense. Maybe Yamaha thinks they can sell more bikes if the price them like a Harley. After all it's worked for Harley for years.
