  1. No apology. No one did anything to apologize for. Troy brought all his troubles on himself. However once I've posted all the photo's for everyone to see and judge for themselves then I told Troy if he started a new facebook business page that no one would bother it as long as he did not treat another VentureRider the way he treated me. But I do not feel anyone here owes an apology for helping me or any other member here. Just don't hold a grudge when he turns his life around and starts doing the right thing. Thanks a million for your support.
  2. He still is a smooth talker but this time he is talking more and he is sending me photo's of the process as he works on the leathers. Thanks for watching my back.
  3. Yes. I have the cup holder and Corbin back rest pictured above. (Or I should say he mailed them to me today). They should be here by Thursday.
  4. Yes it is a same it took that but like he said it was a wakeup call for him. It made him realize with all his other problems he could not ignore this one. I am very optimistic now. I will keep everyone informed. Harry
  5. Well I would like to let everyone know that Troy Savoie of TS Custom Leather has begun work on my leather order. Thanks to you my many many many friends Troy has been working on my leathers. I have never heard anything bad about Troy's work. On the contrary I have heard nothing but good about his work and that is why I contacted him to do this job. As you know one or two ah s^&ts will wipe out a hundred at a boys and I think that is what happened here with Troy. Here are a few pictures of part of my leather order. I will post more as I get the leather parts. It will take a while since Troy has lost his house. Troy has to be out by the end of the month. He has found another place to live. So Troy will not be able to work on my things until he relocates. As you know it takes a while to get evicted and I guess people that are faced with that take desperate measures and I guess I got caught up in that part of Troy's life. Troy has changed my opinion of him for at least now. With his financial troubles and being evicted he has started on my order thanks to all of you who put pressure on him, thanks again. This says something to me that maybe he isn't a crook or a thief but just a desperate man. I have great communication with Troy now and he has taken the blame for his situation. Here are the pictures of his work so far. 6. I live in Wally World heaven. There are 5 Wally Worlds within 10 miles of my house and 4 Wally Worlds within 5 miles. Some carry all three types of Rotella (white, gray, and blue) by the gal some carry none only quarts and some carry only one type.
  7. I wish I could help. I had one of mine do that but I can't remember how I got it out. Seems like I was able to get some long locking pliers and get on the rubber on the backside so it would not turn and then unscrew it from the front. But I really can't remember. There is a way because I did it just not sure how I did it. Dang getting old ain't for youngsters.
  8. A lot of companies use photo's of preproduction or prototype parts in their ads. They don't want to start production and then take photo's of the item since they would have a warehouse full of items and no advertising so no one would be able to see what the item looks like. So they get an early prototype that may be exactly like the finished item or close enough for the photo and publish it that way when the item is available to purchase people will have seen in on the web or in a catalog and be ready to purchase the item. That is what soulds like has happened in this case. The prototype must have had a larger top rail and a few other slight differences but close enough that Yamaha felt no one would notice and published the photo's. Now there are after market rails out there. I have two Ventures. One has the Yamaha rails and one has aftermarket rails from Ebay. The Yamaha rails are better quality (chrome, bolts, etc...) but also cost more. BOTH when bolted down rub against the rear turn signal. I put the rails in a vise and twisted them a little at a time until they were level.
  9. Put ear plugs in or turn the radio up real loud.
  10. Unfortunately Union City is not one of the nicer areas of Atlanta. The good news is with a little commute there are a lot on nice areas near there. It really depends on how much he is willing to pay per month. I f he wants a condo or a house to rent or buy. The apartments in and around Union City, IMHO, I would not stay in. There are nearby town that have nice areas; Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Senoia, Newnan, Palmetto, Tyrone, Fairburn. Probably any direction you go but north would be the best unless you want to go to the Vining/Cumberland area near Marietta. The problem there is you have to fight Atlanta traffic if you go north. Anyway I'm a country boy who doesn't like the city so take that at what it's worth.
  11. I-285. If you don't drive 85 you will get run over.
  12. I bought a Street Magic load equalizer and set of 4 LED turn signals from a friend for my 2nd gen. The SM load equalizer has 4 wires; purple wire to left, brown wire to right, orange wire to positive, and black wire to negative. Everything works fine but when I turn on the CB and I turn on the left or right turn signal I get a lot of static over the speakers. The orange wire connected to the positive wire is connected to the blue tail light wire. I disconnected the orange wire and connected it straight to the positive battery post and the CB does the same thing. I took the black wire and connected it to the negative battery post and it does the same thing. I disconnected the Street Magic and of course my turn signals flash fast but the static is gone. If I get load equalizers off ebay I will need four. Does anyone know if I need 25 watt 60 ohms or do I need 50 watt 60 ohms or does it matter. Anybody have any ideas on either system??? Thanks, Harry
  13. I went there once. You were treated great to the way I was treated. A friend and I went there to look at Yamaha's. As you know they have two building or did have one for Yamaha's and one for everything else. We walked around for an hour in the Yamaha building and never once saw anyone that worked there. I even remarked to my friend anybody that wanted to could back the truck up and take whatever they wanted and no one would know the difference. We my friend called them from the showroom floor and they said they would send someone over. Well another thirty minutes went by and we decided to leave. Well I wanted to talk to the sales manager first. I went to the other building and found the sales manager in his office. I voiced my complaint to the sales manager and he actually stood up and began to chastise me because they were busy and I didn't have any patience. Well I went home and immediately fired and email off to them about the sales manager and their sorry service. Well I got a phone call from a very apologetic assistant sales manager and he told me the sales manager was out of line and if I would come back up there he would personally wait on me. I went back and he waited on me and I bought the bike. Do they have good prices? YES they do. Can you find better deals? YES you can but they may be on the other side of the US. Do they have good customer service? NO NO NO Are there parts and service reasonable? NO that is where they make their money. Would I recommend them? NO!!!
  14. I could not find one at Wal-Mart but I did find one at Costco for $14.95 and it is a gel-seat. Looks very similar to the pictures above but in the mess you can see the rows of gel under the mess. It states it keeps you cool also and it does.
  15. One thing that I don't understand about the "whine" problem is, a lot of the complaints are that the engine whine so people change baskets and after a while the "whine" comes back. That indicates to me that the sound is caused by the wearing of the basket. When first installed the tolerances are tighter and the "whine" is reduced or gone. As the basket wears several thousand miles the sound comes back. You know that the basket has worn and the tolerance has lessened so it looks like to me if you crown, shave or do anything that increases the spacing between the basket and whatever gears it matches up to you should increase the "whine" not decrease it. So why do some bike have a whine and others do not? Maybe it is the gear that fits the basket and not the basket. If there is something wrong with that gear you could put 20 new baskets in and after a while then all 20 baskets would start "whining". Just my worth. Shoot I don't even know what the gears are called that connect to the basket but that's my ideas behind it.
  16. That is a shame. I never lock mine. Most of the time I just take the key but I have also forgot and left the key in the ignition. My bad. I need to be more careful.
  17. That was a problem on the 1st gen They fixed it when they came out with the second gen.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  18. See you in a few days!
  19. I have two in the stables. A 2000MM and a 2001 Green Venture.
  20. Good price for a Venture. However it is not fully dressed it is STOCK. Every Venture out there comes with what that one has. The only factory option is a cd player and that may or may not have one. Everything else to make that a full dresser is pretty expensive. Compare some members photos and that one and you'll see what we're talking about.
  21. :thumbsup2: About the same color yellow as these thumb ups. Looks great. No one can say they didn't see you.
  22. For the friends that wanted photos of my sons Mr. Universe competition here are a few. There is eye candy for both men and women. My son is pictured with the women's figure winner, the women's body building winner, the vice president of the INBF/WNBF, a photo of the overall amateur competition of the heavy weight, light weight and middle weight (Josh is on the left), and a photo of the WNBF overall winner and the INBF overall winner (Josh), and some of the competitors. My son is the one in the black trunks. Thanks again for all you support.
  23. Thanks Mark, I know we talked about this trip at the Jacksonville meet and eat. I think the trip turned out pretty nice. I seldom see a smile on my son's face as big as the one on his face when they announced him as the winner. Of course I think my smile was even bigger.
  24. Those are some older pictures (about 6 months to a year). Hopefully I will be able to get some pictures of the competition and some after pictures around the beach in Barbados soon.
  25. Thanks Mike. I don't blame you I think I would have to take his side also after seeing his pictures. I did get to spank him though without him getting mad. When you put the tanning dye on him you have to slap it to even it out so I got to spank his behind without making him mad.
