That's not to bad if they are all in a row.:rotf:

A propane tank when it blows and it will if it gets to hot is not something you want to be near. Even at a hundred feet your most lickly to be hurt. Add one more thing to my list of (most unlicked people) those who make and those who sell drugs.

Well folks first of all I don't want to offend any Texans but were moving to the Dover Delaware area of the woods. I'm retired but my wife still work for the Department of Defense (Air Force civilian emplyee) and she has been asked to move to Dover Air Force Base. We talked about this for a few days seeing as how we just moved from the St. Louis area last Feb. A few things clinced it for us first and formost is that Del Rio doesn't have a good hospital and forget about shopping if that's your thing and for women it is. Del Rio is a nice small friendly town and I have meet and enjoy the new friends we have made since moving here and I will miss riding with some of you on this forum as well as the Southern Cruisers here in the Del Rio area. But we have decided to take the promotional opportunity and move to the East coast. We don't have a firm date on the move yet but expect it to be within the next 3 months. I am looking forward to meeting all the people on this forum that live in the Dover area. It's never to late to make new friends and who has to many friends anyway. I will have to find something to do during the winter weather rut in Delaware. Just how many days of riding do you Delawarians (spelling) have anyway?

I test rode a wing before I bought my 03 and didn't like the foot under thing either and my inseam doesn't like it when I try to spread them far so the highway pegs didn't do it for me. The wings are a nice ride if that's your things. I'll stick with the Venture for now. Good luck with your new ride.

Mounting Lights on Fairing
Pilot replied to AKRefugee's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have to agree with Buddy. If you want to do it anyway look for a cheap fairing on ebay and use it. That way if it does crack you won't be destorying your original. -
Yes the MCU has four outputs.

Looks like Yama is looking into replacing the 1st gen's. Upgrading it a bit also.:rotf:

Hmmmm, me thinkith my folks saying the same thing about Rock and Roll. Me thinkith its a time thing........AGE.........

Just remember that not all speakers are created equal. When it comes time to buy them go with what other here are using and recommend. The equalizer is a good idea, one that I’m playing with but have not done yet.

I looked at that for hours when I got my 03, thinking it must be broken. I mean no one in their right minds would design something like this.............I was wrong.....Again......

I was thinking of a remote controlled turret. That way you have your 3,6 and 9 positions covered also.

DITO except for the fringe thing.

MAN..........What a mess, looks like it's shopping time. VERY glad the two of you are sill walking and talking.

Glad you came through it and are now on the road to recovery. It could have been much worse. I had a childhood friend that came home from work one day with a really bad headache, took a few asprin and laid down on the couch to rest...........He never woke up. They found a blood clot and that's what did him in. It was a good thing you went to the ER when you did. Now get back to work on the bike.

Like Squidley I used Coastal Premium EP Moly Grease I picked up at Auto Zone and it also runs out onto the wheel. Next time I'm switching. All Moly grease is not created equal...

The last few times I had a dealer change and balance tires (which I removed from the bike) they charged their regular hourly charge. The last time they charged me for one hour at a cost of $70.00. I could buy the equipment for about $150.00 and do it myself but why. It's not worth the aggravation to me and a computer balance is worth it's weight in gold.

She's a 10, relative or a very CLOSE friend of the owner, if you know what I mean by CLOSE friend. It's been my experience that as long as a dealer is selling the corporate trade name will not react to a letter, they will just assume the cutomer was having a bad day. Now if the dealer has a few hundred letters from customers they might make a phone call. It's a big world and a customer is now just a number.

The antenna wire for the CB goes to the CB. Standing in front of the bike the radio antenna can be found to the left of the MCU in the group of plugs that come out of the MCU. Look for a small coax wire, it also has a plug.

Well a couple of things did. I was getting ready to replace the cassette with an equalizer and was looking at the bikes wiring diagram which only shows 1 rear speaker. The other was freebirds thread on "Replacing Cassette Player with Equalizer" found here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=610 which stated the rear was mono. I was installing new wires as per the thread and when I removed the rear seat I didn't see how the wires for the right rear speaker went from the right to the left speaker so I took the left speaker pod apart and discovered that the wires went to a different plug. That started a wire trace and I ended up discovering that I was wrong in assuming the rear was mono. I'm wondering now if earlier model bikes were mono? Freebird if the rear speakers are mono on some bikes and stereo on others can you change your thread to say this so as not to confuse people like me? Maybe you can add the wiring color code and the picture of the 18 pin MCU connector to your thread. At least we now know the color code for both rear speakers. I changed my wiring diagram to reflect this. Ohh well on to the project for installing an ejection seat for the passenger.:rotf:

I'm not sure on any bike but my 07 if yours is not like mine then I don't know what to Tell you, but my rear speakers are Stereo. I got bored again so I decided to take a look at the rear speakers again. Now if you look at the wiring diagram for the audio circuit you will notice that they only show one rear speaker along with the two front speakers. It struck me funny that anyone would build a stereo amplifier for the two front speakers but only incorporate a mono circuit for the rear two speakers. So I decided to tear the MCU apart and take a look at this to see If it was possible to add another rear output. Well I know what your thinking, why would someone tear their MCU apart. Well I didn’t need to because while tracing the wiring for my rear speakers on my 07 RSV I discovered that it has two outputs for the rear speakers (a left channel and a right channel). That’s correct the 07 has stereo rear speakers. I don’t know about any other 2nd Gen but I would think they are all the same but I don’t know for sure. I traced the wires from the MCU to the front and rear speakers and I have attached a diagram showing the wire colors. I have also attached a few pictures showing the 18 pin MCU connector in the front fairing ( all four speaker wires run through this connector) and the two speaker connectors (one for the left rear and one for the right rear) under the passenger seat. I then made an MP3 file with sound on the right side and then sound on the left side to test what I found and even though you get some sound in the right rear speaker when there is no input for the right rear it is minimal and I think it’s just feed through from the MCU. The same is true for the left rear speakers. What you hear in the front speakers is what you get in the rear speakers if it’s stereo in the front it’s stereo in the rear. I was under the impression that the rear was mono, not true in my case on the 07. wire color code: Left Front Speaker ------Red/white + Left Front Speaker-------Gray - Right Front Speaker------Red/Black + Right Front Speaker------Blue/Black - Left Rear Speaker--------Red + Left Rear Speaker--------Brown - Right Rear Speaker-------Red/Yellow with a gray Strip + Right Rear Speaker-------Brown/Black - Am I wrong?
