  1. way to go Curtis! how are you going to rig the trailer on that thing? Something tells me you already have a plan... Your future neighbor...
  2. Hey Don, A load of prayers are headed your way from Kansas, buddy. There's a lot to be said for the support you get from this group. It's very heartening to see... Mike
  3. Hiya, Curtis! Man, that's great news! I've been thinking about you and praying, as many here have. I guess there's something to be said for that, eh? Maybe you're being saved to suffer through that awful job you have! lol Your future neighbor,
  4. Lol, Bryan! I'd like some plate frames too, 2 M/C and 1 cager. Somebody want to share the price?
  5. I have to give Rick Butler some props here, too. His work made a huge difference to my ride and, as Ponch noted, a good method to search for a problem's solution is too do the least expensive fixes first. Rick does great work for a great price. That said, I do still have a problem with my seat cover. I believe the vinyl covered seat causes chafing after a long ride. My solution is the sheep-skin cover which I have'nt found yet. If anyone knows where to get one, help a brother out! Lol! In Rick's defense, in case anyone thinks he didn't fix my problem, I couldn't stay in the saddle long enough to feel the chafing issue before. I had ridden 300 mile days before but in great discomfort. Since the re-build, I've ridden over 500 miles in a day. I've been riding a little over a year now and I'm in my young 50's.
  6. No, when the first gens fall on the right side, the engine guard bends in toward the engine and a flange on the guard creases the elbow pipe to the water pump. The engine guard is easy to bend back out but the elbow needs to be replaced if it goes all the way through.
  7. It was good to meet you, Jay. Wish you could have stayed longer, but I bet those teenagers are glad you didn't - I hope it was their parents car! lol
  8. ...and I'd like to be in on this for 2 units. sounds like a great deal.
  9. Glad you made it safely, Brad! Texas is a better place for you and Lonna being there... Glad I finally got to meet you at the rally, too! Best wishes!
  10. Yeah, I made it home too. It's good to be home as much as I hated to leave Arkansas. I really had a great time!
  11. I was able to go on a camel patrol in the Sahara desert with some bedouins many years ago. These aren't your Bush Gardens variety camels. They're nasty, they're mean, and they spit green! And they don't take kindly to Americans on their humps! lol
  12. "someones got to run this little game.......and be an unbiased bystander......." Hey! that's what I was volunteering for! :rotf::rotf:

    Relay??

Oh, yeah... the relay for my lights is zip-tied to the bike frame, left side behind the fairing.

    Relay??

A relay allows a small amount of current passing through the switch to operate the relay, which passes a larger amount of current for the lights themselves. It keeps the switch from getting hot. Other than that, I'm a complete electrical idiot also!
