  1. Motor is coming together. 86 Venture 1300 block, decked .040" ,heads from a VMax. Covers are all just loose fitted at this point, for a sanity check. Valve covers are from an RSV and I have a set of chrome caps, but I think that is pushing the chrome a little far. I have a set of VMax covers that have been prepped for powder coating. I may use them, sorta like the styling. Side covers are a little shiner on this version. Motor even has some of its older sister's hand me downs. Red side cover plates were on Tweety at one point. Gary
  2. Linked below is a thread that shows a 1st gen pump in a RSV frame. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=75778 Gary
  3. You have no decency, that's a blatant, shameless plug if I ever saw one. If that's where we are all headed, then so be it. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3890&title=steering-head-bearing-nut-wrench&cat=33 Gary
  4. Firing order is the same for the 1983-2013 V4's, 1200/1300cc, used in all Ventures & Vmax's. 1-3-2-4 is consistent through 4 manuals I looked at. 1st picture is 1st Gen Ventures, 2nd is 1st gen Vmax's, 3rd is RSV's & 4th is Royal Star. Given the 'V' configuration of the cylinders and the 2 throw construction of the crankshaft it would not be possible to alter firing order without different cams. One of the performance enhancers often mentioned is the installation of VMax cams in other V4's. This would not work across the family of bikes if the firing order were different. Gary
  5. TCI might help you, but it's one part of an overall complex system. Another person had somewhat similar symptoms recently and the new TCI cured it. I have another order being processed for TCI's now (4/7/13). Company said they should ship in about a week. I have new MAP sensors in already & other small items I send along. Link to current thread for TCI purchase. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76731 Gary
  6. I think picture is of a cruise pump from an 85. Gary
  7. Nice birthday present !! Gary
  8. TCI's were ordered Monday, They may ship late next week is what I was told. I already have new MAP sensors, and other small items. I have several extras of these still available. I am working with a guy on the VMax side to use one of Ignitech's Fuel Injection controllers on a VMax. He lives about 15 miles from me and has a Dyno in garage. He's doing work, I am getting FI controller that will do what he is trying to accomplish. Same guy already has one of the units I am selling and has it on a turbo charged Vmax. Gary
  9. 3rd line could be an issue. http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af193/gdingy101/IMG_4587x_zps538922af.jpg Gary
  10. Attached are a few pictures of the headlight/cluster area on an 88 that I got as a parts bike. Didn't have any of front plastic on it when I got it. Best I can do. Mostly have had MKI experience. Gary
  11. Changed first post. $2250 is for front & rear wheels. Gary
  12. The added bracing is on the lower side of the swing arm. It is confusing to look at pictures though due to unit being upside down. I had rotated pictures before I posted, but then floor was on top. Gary
  13. Attached are some pictures of a Carrozzeria wheel being installed on a notched & hoop braced MKII swing arm. Guy doing this is the goto member on the VMaxforum.net site. One2dmax is screen name there. Doing some major improvements to a 1st gen MKII. Sean Morley Our Website - Morley's MuscleCars and MuscleBikes - first site http://tinyurl.com/9d36u main site http://www.MorleysMuscle.com Muscle section of the forum http://www.vmaxforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=77 Facebook with a TON of pics: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Ros...2488678?ref=ts Pair of wheel's shown is currently $2250 & $30 for seals. This does not include swing arm modification. 2 of the pictures are of rear end upside down. Rear caliper has been replaced by a 6 piston unit, mount welded to swing arm hoop brace. Smaller diameter rotor used to lesson braking effect. Still scary to me with this much rear brake though. Gary
  14. Mike, Considering it is the bottom screw, you should be able to get a direct shot with a propane torch. I would suggest you heat the screw till it glows. The heat will conduct down the shaft and break the loctite seal. Let the screw then cool way down, the loctite will not reset, if at all for many hours. Even if you overheat the slave cylinder it doesn't matter, you got another one. Your next closest seal is the clutch push rod seal, in the block, behind slave cylinder. You will not be able, reasonably that is, dump enough heat into the block to damage clutch push rod seal. Huge heat sink around it. Gary
  15. It might make it harder yet to bleed front brakes. The top part of the loop from right to left side would be a great air trap. The front brakes are notorious for being hard to bleed. Gary
  16. Gen 2 (RSV) rotors will not work on rear wheel of 1st Gen (MKI or MKII). I have not tried Gen 2 rotors from the front on a 1st gen. Calipers from a 2nd gen will bolt up to 1st gen, but I am not sure about rotor thickness pocket clearance. Gary
  17. All electronic. - No Paper !! Gary
  18. There is quite a bit on the 85 that won't work on the 86. Saddlebags & trunk Any of the brakes Front forks Carbs are different Cruise components are different Dash has minor differences Headlight & windshield trim - i see it missing in picture. Anti dive units Wiring harness Most of the motor block & components Swingarm. Gary
  19. Then what are differences between an 83 royale & an 83 standard instrument cluster? Gary
  20. If it is for coil mounts, then it is gonna be gone. Not using conventional coils. Thanks, Gary
  21. What goes on the 2 hole bracket is picture on cross tube, left in picture to drive shaft tube. It's in my way if I don't need it. Hate to cut it off then realize it was a handy mount. Gary
