  1. Having a lot of pictures and decreasing cranial storage, it's sometimes tough to remember where I put those pictures someone is asking about. Right now I have 32.1 gig of Venture/VMax stuff, 46,531 files in 2,166 folders. I don't rename 98% of pictures to a meaniful name, try to put them in folder names that are searchable, but that plan doesn't always work. Digital cameras are a blessing in disguise !! Gary
  2. I have a decent rear rotor from an 2001 RSV that I got to use on the RSV Hybrid I am building. Then found out it wouldn't fit a VMax rim. PM me It isn't as bad as it looks in pictures, camera seems to highlight any grooving. I would buy it if I needed it and it was in my hand to look at FWIW. Just measured it and it seems to be consistent @ 0.257" thickness, manual shows new spec @ 0.28" thick. Gary
  3. See thread below for fuel pump dissected. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63062 Gary http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af193/gdingy101/searchuseit_zps7a60934a.jpg
  4. Thread below details changing them to running lights. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=47227 Gary
  5. The end of an experiment gone bad. Gary [/url]http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af193/gdingy101/scienceexperimentgonebad__800_600_q50_zps19824f68.jpg
  6. Fixed attachments. Gary
  7. Attached are some charts and a somewhat lengthy, but basic overview of carb principles. Gary
  8. I have windows 7 and it is called Snipping Tool, part of the windows package. On mine it's under Start Button, All Programs, Accessories. I have put a shortcut on toolbar. I also use Snagit from TechSmith, if it's on my screen, I can save it. Gary
  9. But where does your setup take you when you click on the 'HOME' in first menu bar at top, or the VentureRider.org at top left of screen, or the VentureRider.org at bottom right of any window? All of these take me back to the page I showed in #13 post? I looked in usercp and didn't see a setting for linking to page you recommend. Bet your likin' MiniMuffin' more and more right now !!! She never causes you any grief like this !! Gary
  10. Another idea, since VMaxforum doesn't have a "home page" a short cut has been used to provide a list of all new posts when the text: "www.vmaxforum.net/search.php?do=getdaily&days=3" This brings up the all new posts since my last visit, up to 3 days I think. It is stored as a shortcut in Firefox, all I have to do is type in one letter and it pops up in browser window. Probably need to be a member or similar for it to know your last visit though, so it may not work same for others. I have tried it here with substituting venturerider.org, but it does not work. Screen capture of what is displayed on VMax site when text is typed in. Your doing fine Don, you were the one that brought out the invitation for comments. Gary
  11. I know for sure MiCarl has my back on this one. What is aggravating about it is when you are on the 1st page of posts and want to go to the 2nd page, simply click on the More button. But then it takes you back to the top of the page, forcing a scroll down to get to the now displayed other pages. Just chaffing your butt old man, I know you have looked into it. But the VMaxForum.net doesn't have a more button, and it is running "Powered by vBulletin® Version 3.8.2". If I didn't whine now and then you would be worried about my 12 bucks, thinking I didn't care. Gary
  12. Not trying to cut into Dano's work, though in fact following could help it. If Dan would agree to providing a machined rotor only, there is a lower cost alternative to what he does currently provide. I 100% behind what he does & quality of his work, I have one from him setting on shelf for Tweety. The RSV rotor will just plain not work on a 1st gen with a stock TCI. This is due to a different lobe pattern on the rotor. There are two ways it could be made to work. 1st is to hook up a 2nd gen TCI, I don't think this is a path many will take. It would require rewiring harness to connect to much different RSV connections. Also I think there is a rev limiter in the RSV TCI that is lower than what a 1st gen is capable of. Also, the stator is different on an RSV and it will not bolt up to a 1st gen stator cover. 2nd option is an Ignitech TCI MAY work. I will be trying this option on the RSV Hybrid. It involves stator, rotor, pickup coil, TCI and side cover changes. I bought several adapter cables from Ignitech will allow the Ignitech TCI to mate up to an RSV cable with no splicing. Never been done before kind of thing with this TCI though. They have provide a software file that should configure TCI to work with rotor lobes. I provided them a fairly accurate drawing of the rotor lobe spcing so program could be created. What is the good news is, the RSV rotor came from the factory with a sprauge clutch that looks identical to what Dan puts in his conversion kit for the 1st gens. I am 99% sure that what Dan is doing machining wise will work perfectly with an RSV supplied starter clutch. RSV rotors routinely are sold on Ebay for $49.99 + $13 shipping. Sometimes I have seen them with the ring gear. If your ring gear needs replaced it does up the cost quite a bit then. Not sure what Dan would charge just for machining, if he would even do just that, but it is an option. From partshark.com, the starter clutch is $129 and ring gear is $91. Just another option out there. If it would help Dan with turn around times, I have at least on spare rotor for an 83-89 I would give him, so he could do a swap for a good core. The rotor is the same from 83-89, then changes to a different style from 90-93, which are all the same number. Its a lot harder to find a 90-93 rotor on Ebay, not many come up. I have one of them, but I am going hang on to it until I see if RSV rotor works in Hybrid. Pictures attached show an RSV rotor next to a 83-89 rotor. Where they are stacked, the lobe difference can be seen at one point. Last picture is an RSV cable on left & 1st gen cable on right to adapt to the Ignitech TCI. Gary
  13. Now if we could only get the MORE button fixed, we would be cooking with gas !!! Gary
  14. I am almost sure they are. MD in Oberlin a few tears ago, GooseV7 was doing a demo on greasing bearings and I had checked at that time. I had a spare set for Tweety and I took them along in case he got in there and found out he needed to replace them. Gary
  15. Attached is home page after posting to this thread. It still shows unread, with myself being last poster. Gary
  16. Attached is screen shot of what comes up when I log in. Have never used New Posts or Todays Posts Gary
  17. This SUCKS. Not even marking threads that I post to as read, as well as any others. Gary
  18. The lower opening on the first picture is the main jet. #125 for the 86. Also, in the 1st picture, left port on bottom is the idle jet, #37.5. Make sure this on is shiny clean !! The one on the top of the 2nd picture is a #80 air jet. Sizes are imprinted on top surface of jet. Gary
  19. I have an 86 frame that I will part with cheap. Have a title from Virginia that hasn't been transferred to my name. Gary
  20. Attached are the lubrication charts for MKII Venture & VMax. VMax chart is more detailed. Gary
  21. Vmax oil galley is different than Venture. There is another tube on VMax that Ventures don't have, goes into oil pump. Some screen captures from Dameon Feruillo's VMax motor rebuild video. Item 4, 5 & 6 in attached parts fiche cut. Oil pump section, this was from a 2004 fiche. Gary
  22. Are you sure it is not just spinning inside tube? Some people have taken a broom handle and put in seal end of tube. This can be forced into the hex head of the damper tube to allow the cap screw to be removed. If you fubar it, I probably have an extra one and a screw & washer. Get me a picture of it so I can be sure I get you correct one. Gary
  23. Looked at your picture closer. It almost looks like hole missing pin is egg shaped, and possibly one above and to the right. If they are, they won't stay in. I have a couple of extra used plates if you want one, shipping only. Or you could pick it up, I am in Mansfield. Gary
  24. Hit it with some heat, I think these are red loctited in. It doesn't have to be glowing though. Red loctite breaks down around 450F I think. It is a normal right hand thread. Gary
  25. I think you mean this clamp, reread your post. 8 x 1.25 x 25mm Gary
