  1. If the carb bowls are full pump may come up to pressure on first cycle. Good way to tell is to open a drain screw on one carb and drain the bowl, that will assure that the pump needs to run some. Drain screw is just above intake mount on carb, one on each carb. All you need to do is loosen it about a turn and it will drain out the rubber hose on each carb that is below crossbar at bottom of carb rack. Snug screw back up and turn key on, it should click. 2. Are you talking about the bushings in the stator cover or the one in the foot lever? I just had to install a pair in the stator cover on Tweety about a month ago. When I put the clear side covers on, the stator housing was originally from a VMax. VMax shift linkage doesn't go through the stator cover, goes through the middle gear cover. The cover I got had the hole in it but no bushings. I bought 15mm x 10mm x 12mm long bronze bushings. Drilled cover hole out, and installed them, one goes in from each side. Got them from McMaster-Carr. Very inexpensive. Drill I needed was a lot more than bushings, I didn't have a 15mm drill. Case had hole but it need drilled to size. Foot lever has a bushing in it, I think it is 14mm x 10mm x ?? long. Not sure though. None of these are listed in parts fiche though. Gary
  3. Let's imagine that by some stoke of marketing prowess, I hit $750. What say you all we include the "Why" thread in this killing. That would bring joy to many members hearts !! I submit that the D.G.M. look into the ability to accomplishing this task. Gary
  4. Bump this one also !!
  5. I can only guess you amateur thread killers are out scouring the streets for donations! Been over a day since there has been so much as a whimper from you guys. Last minute posting of mass contributions will be frowned on by the Grand PooPaw. Give me a target to beat unless you have given up. Gary
  6. Maybe they are being tested for fitment, before the border crossing !! Gary

  9. It probably would be for sure. But this way exemplifies what a great group of members this group has. Not to mention the entertainment factor of who has my mufflers. This started as a plea for help getting these picked up and has snowballed to where it is now. I don't even know who has them now. Anthony I think, but I don't know screen name. You guys are great. This has even trickled over to the St. Judes fundraiser, which by the way is linked below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?postid=834977#post834977 Thank You all !!! Gary

See thread linked below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=834784&posted=1#post834784 Any one that would like to switch their allegiance to Team Dingy may do so at any time. Gary
  12. Didn't find out they were for sale until Thursday evening. It was Friday evening when I knew I was going to be able to get them. People have been fantastic in helping with this !! Gary
  13. From past experience, once the diodes fail, other parts in the TCI are damaged. Main thing to go are the large IC's, as far as I am aware, there is no available replacement for IC's. Nice looking Venture. Gary
  14. Sent Tooch & Marcarl a PM about getting these. Thanks guys. Gary
  15. Can someone near Collingwood, Ontario Canada pickup a set of mufflers for me? I will pay for expenses incurred when picking them up like gas & lunch !! If someone will get them, I will figure out a way to get them to me in Ohio. New set of muffles, so they are clean as far as handling. Bought them on Kijiji.com Business address is, Parkway Yamaha, Pretty River Parkway, Collingwood, ON L9Y, Canada Gary
  16. Looks like this thread has went to discussing religion and will be closed before I get to kill it. Looks like me and kids at St Jude are winners !! Gary
  17. Speed bleeders don't work well if there is a lot of air in the lines. The air compress enough that the ball valve in the speed bleeders doesn't open right away. Pumping brake may overcome this. When I did rear brake on Tweety last month, I put a regular bleeder in to get most of air out, then put speed bleeder back in. Gary
  18. Sent him an email saying I wanted them. No if some friendly Canadian, would help me get them here. Gary
  19. Front tire cupping will cause wobble in a sweeping curve. Gary
  20. I have completely removed the knee vents and lower chin. The side covers have been cut back as seen in 1st picture. 2nd picture is of Tweety's side covers before I got serious about customizing it. This does allow more heat to come back on legs though. Rest of plastic on bike is MKI, basically unmodified. Gary
  21. If you are referring to the socket head cap screws it would be 7.2 ft/lbs. The 2 short screws go on the left front outboard & right rear outboard. Use a good RTV sealant on these 2 screws as they are drilled into oil pocket and an irritating leak point. Gary
  22. I think you, Yammer Dan & Cowpuc should get a post-a-horus badge just for keeping sites statistics up this winter. Do all members of winning alliance receive badges? What is cutoff date & time for bidding? Gary
